It was a lot better than I was initially expecting it to be, and it actually garnered a few laughs from me!

 

I hope we more of the snack cart ponies; I actually liked their designs. ^^

 

Overall, a solid 7/10.

Okay I'm not a huge fan of Friends Forever but I miiiiiiiiiight have to pick this one up. 

 

Currently trying to get my hands on all the FiM series first though...It's kinda difficult right now as I'm more of a go-to-the-store-and-buy-it kind of person because then I don't have to wait for it to come in the mail...I hate waiting for mail.

I picked up the new volume and my goodness its the FUNNIEST Volume of the FF series.

It was freaking HILARIOUS!!

This was probably the best Friends Forever issue yet. I think it got the basics of Twilight and Pinkie Pie right: Pinkie's over enthusiasm that just goes a little too far, Twilight making helping her friend the top priority but also relishing the chance to test herself and Pinkie putting everything aside to help her friend Twilight. 

 

Visually this was just as dynamic and vibrant as Pinkie herself, there was a great frenetic energy to it all, especially the nice spread of the trap Twilight created for her.

 

It was a little self indulgent with its references, but it was suitable to the story and is one of the best uses of the phrase NOMNOMNOM ever.

This issue was straight-up weird.

 

We have Pinkie Pie having an existential crisis over what amounts to a county fair to the point she turns into Pinkamena for a few pages, Twilight going to great lengths to stop Pinkie in more and more Looney Toon-esque attempts (where-in we learn she apparently has a hidden supply of ropes and chains...kinky) and Twilight all but curses, complete with censorship.

 

On the positive side, I think this is one of the first issues to show her new castle, complete with the Friendship Council room (all they need is a big round table to make it complete).
