 @legionbrony    Flamestreak sensed a little resentment in Sliver Shields voice he hoped that it wasn't because of himself. "were you forced to go here or did you lose a bet or something. Cause you really don't seem like you want to be here" he said. "loosen up a bit and have fun this not a battlefield I just want to be your friend" flamestreak said. "Here have some coco" he reached into his saddlebag and got some hot chocolate he was saving for himself but he had four to share so he was fine.

From is position looking toward the opening into the parlor, Ahaban could see movement outside.

"More guests." He some to himself.

Getting up from his seat he approaches to the door opening it forth to greet the stallions, noting one of them is a royal guard.

"Oh I see well I guess your kind of used to being to yourself a lot especially being in the guard in all. But its still good to interact with ponies that don't need your help with something or that's in mortal danger" he said. "but I think you don't need lectures on what to do anymore so i'll leave you alone" he said.

Silver walked through the open door, nodding in thanks to the Saddle-Arabian pony who had permitted them entry. He removed his cloak and dusted the accumulated snow off from it with his magic, and then brushed his mane and tail clear of the white powder.

 

Silver expressed his distaste for the weather with a barely discernible grimace.

Ponies of all shapes and sizes come to experience foalhood again. We've got games, sideshows, rides, food, the works! I operate the Whirlwind roller coaster, the tallest fastest roller coaster in all of Equestria. In just three more months, I'll get to send ponies on the rides of their lives."

 

(OOC, Poney Island is a ponified renaming of Coney Island in Brooklyn.)

"I try not to make any...I am not a pony without enemies.  I would hate for somepony I call friend to be hurt simply because they were close to me.  Objectively...it is the best for everypony if I focus on my job."

 

Silver focused on his cocoa, his expression remaining ever-neutral, fully prepared for the protest in response to his statement.  His point of view was not a common one, or a popular one, even among other guards.  It could be argued that it was unnecessary, but Silver did not think so.

 

Of course, he had more reasons for staying away from friendships than the one he had stated, but he wasn't one for sharing personal stories with strangers.  Or really anypony at all.  At least, not without having it dragged out of him.

He looked into his cocoa and was silent for a few moments.

 

"So you enjoy flying?  You said earlier you wished to join the Wonderbolts' ranks," he said, changing the subject.

It's mainly a place for Manehattanites and other Equestrians to stop by and enjoy the amusement parks, play some games and have a little fun. As you may have guessed, it's closed due to winter but we open again as soon as we wrap up." He figures it would be best to sway the subject away from his workplace. "So, how long have you been in Manehattan, Ahaban?"

Silver raised an eyebrow briefly.  He wasn't really good at conversations, and he had a feeling Flame could tell.  He was especially not good at being sensitive.  

 

"Ah.  Well.  Joining the Wonderbolts is a good goal.  I suppose it is the equivalent of Celestia's magic school, for unicorns."  He finished his cocoa, and continued looking at the container it had been in.  "I wish you the best of luck."

Impressive, Thrillseeker thought to himself at the zebra's long rhyme. He bit down on another sugar plum and washed that down with some cider. "I understand how easy it is to lose track of time," he said out loud. "I've been a lifelong resident of Manehattan. My yearly schedule's the same but sometimes I'm operating the roller coaster longer than I should be. Ponies just love to ride them at night. So, what are your families like?"

"I'm not sure if its appropriate to discuss that. A majority of my relatives are not on good times to me... They're rather hostile." He says taking another drink of his cider.

"My word!" Thrillseeker gasped and nearly spat out a mouthful of cider. "I'm sorry I brought it up. I thought with Hearth's Warming that would be a safe topic to talk about. I don't get to see my family that much but that doesn't mean I don't like them. I send my parents gifts even though this is the time of year I don't make a lot of money. Bulawayo, when was the last you've seen yours?"

"The only family I have left who will speak to me is my sister. We exchange letters from time to time. But she must do so secretly. " Ahaban says.

"War has torn apart our families... It seems like the only family we got is each other." He says looking to.Bulawayo with a smile.
