Guest March 17, 2016 Share March 17, 2016 It's illegal to post pictures of you without your consent. So go on Twitter hopefully some idiot took a picture of you, find it on Twitter, find the person, get a lawyer, sue them for millions, profit. Even if its not illegal in your area there is still a good chance it will win in court. While it is illegal to take pictures of people without their permission... This is usually not the case. Most of the time this stuff never gets to court unless you can somehow prove you are out something or some significant damage. Most courts would just throw the case out because it's something that would be small claims court and if the other person doesn't show up, you generally end up getting stiffed. The fees that it costs to take them to court generally exceed what you'd even win.
ShadOBabe 18,997 March 17, 2016 Share March 17, 2016 So really there is no reason to be upset about this, because the person who's wearing the shirt is the one who's wanting the attention. Well I think the problem people have with this is that the posters of the pictures sometimes do it so they and their friends can laugh at how "stupid" you are for being a brony. At least, I'm sure that's what people will be crying about on social media. Dear anti-bronies, Get over it. Someone likes MLP, and you like being a crybaby. Everyone has different interests. I wouldn't say that brony hate is one of the only forms of widespread bigotry that's left. That being said, hating bronies for liking a show is not really discrimination either, so it's not really bigoted. Bigotry generally refers to unfair judgement. Liking MLP is a choice, and it is fair game to judge people based upon things they align themselves voluntarily with. It being ignorant or not is irrelevant, but it definitely is not bigoted or discriminatory, considering jobs can still bar people from getting a job for having piercings, I would say being made fun of for being a brony is far from discrimination, it's being criticized for your choice in interests which is more or less the same as someone hating a movie you like and telling you that you're stupid for liking said movie. It's that level of discrimination. Unless someone is denying you rights, harassing you to a point where it is affecting your real life or causing you some kind of actual harm, then really it's best to ignore it. That being said, calling them a "cry baby" not only shows that you need to accept the fact that people just don't like the show and get over it yourself (because it certainly emits some bitterness) but it also puts you on the same level because you are now insulting them. Well the problem is that they took a stranger's picture without their permission and are posting it online. It's not only not okay, it's illegal in a lot of places. Doing it to shame and mock them just makes it worse. Actually it's not. The person's face is not shown. Legally speaking if you block out someone's face it's perfectly legal. Secondly the post just says "brony spotted" there is no direct shaming or mocking in this particular post.

Because calling them crybabies is equivalent to the death threats they issue to us as well as using autism as an insult By the way, "bigot" is defined as "a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance" While bronies aren't an ethnic or racial group, I do say wishing/threatening death upon, encouraging suicide, and name-calling counts as hatred and intolerance. Finally, you don't really choose to like it. You will naturally feel a certain way about anything without having to think about how it makes you feel. The choice is whether you choose to watch it. So yeah, maybe I do seem bitter at people who think others deserve death for liking a television show not for their age group. Seems irrational (of them) to me. Like a lot of bigotry. Guest March 17, 2016 Share March 17, 2016 Because calling them a crybaby is equivalent to the death threats they issue to us as well as using autism as an insult Who is they? Who is specifically issuing you death threats? Also the actions of a few individuals who are behaving shitty does not give you the right to insult everyone who dislikes the show or the brony fandom. Other people being shitty doesn't give you the right to be shitty. You're literally playing right into the trap and becoming exactly what you hate. Because I'm sure a bunch of anti-bronies or whatever they are called will give tons of reasons why they think it's okay to insult the entire brony fanbase just as you're doing to justify insulting them. Lead by example. That being said: I was an admin on a very popular brony site back in the day. We would get the occasional anti-brony join sure, but the most they did was post like "bronies suck!" and spam some porn. Know where the MAJORITY of the death threats I got came from? The brony users over the most trivial things. I once got a death threat for taking down someone's porn image off the site. I got death threats over telling people that they need to keep their posts PG-13. I got death threats for banning people for sexually harassing other users. I got death threats for literally just doing my job. I never got a death threat from any of the anti-bronies that joined. Bronies were caught issuing death threats in many other situations as well. If I recall correctly, Hasbro staff got some death threats over Equestria Girls, and Twilight becoming an Alicorn. If you point the finger at someone else, you will quickly find a dozen more pointed back at you. Bronies are not like these inherent good beings who do no wrong, and if you want people to think better of them, you'd be wise to not insult people for not liking them. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to dislike the brony fanbase. People are entitled to their opinion and if you insult them for their opinion you are more or less giving them a free pass to insult you right back. You can't be mad at "haters" insulting bronies when you dish out the insults right back and when someone calls you out on your insult and how hypocritical it is, you deflect and try to justify your behavior. There is no excuse to behave crappy, period. Be that behavior from bronies or anti-bronies. By the way, "bigot" is defined as "a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance" Disliking someone's interests alone is not bigotry. While bronies aren't an ethnic or racial group, I do say wishing/threatening death upon, encouraging suicide, and name-calling counts as hatred and intolerance. These once again are a minority. A majority of bronies do not have death threats wished upon them or suicide encouraged upon them. The actions of the vocal minority don't justify you insulting an entire group of people. Period. Finally, you don't really choose to like it. You will naturally feel a certain way about anything without having to think about how it makes you feel. The choice is whether you choose to watch it. Are you arguing semantics? Because honestly you're really going for a stretch here and more or less trying to say without actually saying it that you can't control being a brony or not, which you totally can. So yeah, maybe I do seem bitter at people who think others deserve death for liking a television show not for their age group. Seems irrational (of them) to me. Like a lot of bigotry. Vocal minority. A majority of people don't care about bronies or what they do. And a majority of people who would be classified as anti-bronies do not issue death threats or insults of autism. By that logic should we judge all bronies by the worst examples of bronies? You are doing the EXACT same thing you hate from them.

Guest March 17, 2016 Share March 17, 2016 I don't go and tell anti-bronies to kill themselves, or even that they suck or anything. I leave them to their business. Except for insulting them and calling them cry babies. I'm pretty confident with how adamantly you're defending your hypocritical behavior this isn't the first time either. And pretty much anyone is gonna say bronies are autistic, no matter how seemingly tolerant they are That's assuming, and therefore also hypocritical. It's the same as when someone says "all bronies like horse porn!" You are literally saying "all people who don't like bronies are going to say bronies are autistic and are actually intolerant." I am not a brony, and I do not believe bronies are inherently autistic. Nor do I think bronies need to kill themselves. I think anyone who thinks that way is deplorable. I rarely ever see ANYONE who isn't a brony react to bronies like they're normal people, and some will go as far as to encourage suicide. Where the hell are you pulling these statistics from. If what you say is as common as you think, don't you think we'd all see it far more often? You're exaggerating how bad the problem is. You're using the few extreme cases to justify behaving poorly towards anti-bronies. It's hypocritical and blatantly untrue. I have talked to many people who dislike the brony fandom who do not feel this way at all. I also know for a fact that many people don't even know what bronies are. Just because someone is ignorant doesn't mean they are inherently hateful. Now, I call them cry-babies one single time and now I'm equal to people who use mental disabilities as an insult and tell people that they don't deserve life? "I'm not as bad as Hitler!" That's essentially how you're presenting yourself right now. You're basically using extreme examples that Anti-bronies have done to justify behaving poorly yourself. You're saying "hey, I am not as bad as X, so me doing Y doesn't seem so bad now, right?" Just because someone behaves worse doesn't give you a free pass for insulting and generalizing in the same manner that you detest when people do to you. Treat others as you would like to be treated, so if you want anti-bronies to stop generalizing you, then you need to stop generalizing them. It's pretty freakin' simple. You saw I was referring specifically to anti-bronies though, right? I said "anti-bronies", not just every single person who doesn't like MLP or have anything to do with the fandom. If you whine about someone watching a show, then you're really whiny. It's not really that bad of an insult...It's saying, "you whine a lot", and to be fair, if the idea of someone watching a show you don't like makes you hate them so bad or even think poorly of them just because, then...you are kinda whiny, or sensitive, or whatever. Guest March 17, 2016 Share March 17, 2016 And yeah, I did say "pretty much anyone" would be...not so accepting of bronies. Maybe not the autistic thing, but the vast majority of people haven't reacted well to bronies. Be honest, how many people do you really think would say "that's totally normal" if you said "grown adult (typically male) who likes MLP"? Ummm... A lot of people? There are tons of people who know about bronies and generally do not care that they exist... In fact more so than haters. There are millions of people who just don't give a shit. You are acting like you are far more discriminated than you are, and it makes it difficult to take your complaints seriously when you exaggerate so much. THIS is one of the reasons why a lot of people hate the brony fandom: victim complex. You are acting like this is a regular everyday thing for you, like you wake up and someone sends you a death threat for being a brony and that everyone around you hates you and makes it well known. I am quite confident that is not how your life goes. I am also confident that there are thousands of people that you walk past on a daily basis that genuinely do not care about you being a brony if they knew. You are literally making the stereotype true right now by making a mountain out of an anthill. Yes, people telling bronies to kill themselves is a problem. It is not a laughing matter and it is a severe problem. One that should be dealt with. HOWEVER bloating the problem and misleading people on how frequent it is is actually damaging to the problem because it makes it harder for people to take it seriously when they find out you are exaggerating. Insulting opposition is also the fastest way to get them to not listen to you. It's the easiest way for them to shut their ears off. It's also the fastest way to let the trolls know they got to you and thus give them the signal to come at you some more. Your actions are harming the problem, not assisting it. Go anywhere on YouTube and listen to anyone ranting about bronies that isn't a brony themselves. Look at all the people not giving a crap about bronies or ever posting about them. I am pretty confident that a lot of them know about bronies and generally do not give a crap. Hell Ashens even made a video because bronies kept pestering him to make an MLP themed video and he specifically stated that he tried watching the show and it wasn't for him and that's all he had to say about it. He literally was just saying he was alright with it and it wasn't a big deal. What percentage of those people are going "That's okay!"? Give an honest estimate. And some people will say it's okay, but not after sneaking in a few jabs. Give me some evidence that the people issuing these insults or death threats make up the majority. Also Youtube comments don't mean crap, because even videos that have tons of likes are flooded with troll comments. Hell ReviewTechUSA's comments section is virtually a majority trolling and spam, but he gets like 90% likes on a majority of his videos. Youtube is not really an indicator of much. And cry-baby...is just describing someone as whiny. If someone is whiny, then they're whiny. Calling someone's complaints "whining" is a form of invalidating their opinion. It's saying their opinion is the equivalent to a baby crying, which is insulting. I could say that I think you are being a "cry baby" about people not liking bronies and that would probably make you upset, wouldn't it? You are generalizing, you're assuming that every anti-brony is like these terrible people who do nothing but put you down and issue death threats, and you're behaving in the exact same manner they are behaving in: You're insulting an entire group of people you don't know. You're generalizing them. You're justifying your generalization and insults. You're using very poor evidence to back up your insults and generalizations. You're getting mad at people for their dislike of something, which is pretty much the same as getting mad about people for liking something. You're exaggerating how bad the problem is. Let's look at what you are claiming an anti-brony does that bothers you so much: They insult the entire fandom despite not knowing them. They generalize the fandom. They justify their generalizations and insults. They use poor evidence to back up their insults and generalizations. They get mad at the fans for liking the show. They exaggerate how bad bronies are. Yeah, you guys sound exactly the same to me. =\ You're literally becoming exactly what you hate.

Doesn't the bible say something about praying for your enemies and offering them compassion so that they may find the way? Victim complex? Again, referring to the people who have actually done something so far, and also saying that most people probably would be at least a little mind-boggled by bronies and their existence. And I am saying the vast majority of people who know about bronies don't care about their existence one way or the other... So when you are going on and on about how much people hate bronies with no actual evidence that they are hated as much as you claim, yeah, you have a victim complex. Show me some numbers and statistics that prove bronies are as hated as you claim they are and I will accept your theory, otherwise you're just blowing the issue out of proportion. Getting back on topic: the twitter post that the OP posted literally did not say anything positive or negative about bronies. For all we know it was a fellow brony spotting another brony. You're assuming that it's malicious. I have not really seen anyone posting anything about brony spotting on Twitter that is malicious yet. So until someone provides something to prove this was malicious intent, I am assuming it is neutral.
That Guy with the CMB 5,873 March 17, 2016 Share March 17, 2016 Ummm... You know what an anti-brony is, right? An anti-brony is somebody who hates and/or bullies bronies. I think they're whiny because they're irked by something as tiny as another person's television interests. Is that, or is that not, a silly reason to hate someone or treat someone poorly? And frankly, their opinions became invalid when they asked for the death of innocent people for their television interests, not when I called them "cry-babies". Now, before you go blasting "minority" in my ears, I'm talking about specifically anti-bronies. I'm NOT saying that the majority of people who don't care about MLP or the fandom are anti-bronies or they would be as horrible as to do the things anti-bronies do. I'm saying that they most likely would have issues with the thought of someone liking MLP, but they would NOT be so indecent as to say "bronies, kill yourselves". The comment about most people claiming they're autistic came straight from YouTube rants and all kinds of other social media posts. The only people I really see sticking up for bronies are bronies themselves or tiny groups of people who really are okay with people liking it...although they still tend to say they don't understand it in at least some form. Maybe the autism part was false, and maybe that is my bad. I can admit if I'm wrong. However, I do still hold the belief that most people, if told about bronies, would be somewhat uneasy with it, whether they chose to vocalize that or not. Guest March 17, 2016 Share March 17, 2016 (edited) Being a person who enjoy insulting and offensive jokes of all kind, I never really had a problem with haters. In fact, most of them end up becoming my friends for whatever reason or another. Or maybe I haven't met the really shitty haters. But really, you guys should cool off. This trend is like, a year old, and if you see someone you deem as uh, 'stupid looking ( it depends on the person's perspective or 'norm', and if you see a grown man decked in girly crap, well.... it falls under the category for most people. ), you usually take a photo of them to laugh about it with your friends. Another variant of this would be, uh... Let's say a guy goes on the subway wearing crocs with socks that don't match. I'd snap a picture and have a good laugh at it with friends later. All in all, it's just a variant of an ongoing trend, and it's not targeted specific to bronies. look at this: 25 thousand upvotes http://9gag.com/gag/aKPMeDj/people-of-the-subway This trend isn't really directed specifically at bronies, but the general idea of making fun of someone who looks stupid, maybe it's enhanced by him being a brony Oh, and uh, you guys really should cool off before a mod locks this thread for being toxic.... If my argument has no sort of structure or flow of any kind, blame it on the fact that I'm kinda busy playing a game right now. I wasn't really telling a story, but you get the picture. You really just have to look up something like "brony rant" for about five minutes and you'll instantly see where I'm coming from. A lot of people just don't like the thought of adults (esp. males) viewing a show not for their age demographic, and it does inspire some people to do awful things. I think they're whiny because they're irked by something as tiny as another person's television interests. Is that, or is that not, a silly reason to hate someone or treat someone poorly? That's your definition of them. That's not how many of them would define themselves. I consider myself an "anti-brony" partially and I am nothing like that. You're assuming. I am an anti-brony because I do not believe that one should have to be a "brony" for liking the show. I stand for the idea that being a fan of the show is acceptable against those who disagree. We have a lot of people who insist that being a fan of the show automatically makes you a brony and I do not agree with that. So for that, yes I am an anti-brony. I do not wish death upon anyone, nor do I wish bullying upon a soul. My friend Mark is an anti-brony because he dislikes the fandom, but he does not do anything about it, or insult them. He just doesn't like the fandom, and he carries on his day. I know plenty of others like that as well. And frankly, their opinions became invalid when they asked for the death of innocent people for their television interests, not when I called them "cry-babies". Again, and I am going to big letters this so maybe you listen: The people making said death threats are the minority and not everyone thinks this way. So you are assuming that the vast majority think this way with no evidence whatsoever when in reality that could not be further from the truth because a majority of people who don't like bronies don't make a big deal about it and just continue on their day. The vocal minority doing something crappy doesn't excuse you from stereotyping and generalizing. Sorry, but you're being exactly like them. Now, before you go blasting "minority" in my ears, I'm talking about specifically anti-bronies. A few people saying some crap on Youtube and social media a statistic does not make. Even a hundred comments on Youtube doesn't prove much because statistically speaking there are 7 billion people in the world. That's a drop in the bucket. You need more research and evidence to prove the problem is as rampant as you're claiming. Otherwise it's all just speculation. The only people I really see sticking up for bronies are bronies themselves or tiny groups of people who really are okay with people liking it... *Raises hand* Hello, I identify as an anti-brony and I stick up for bronies when they are in the right. Anyways, we should probably take this discussion elsewhere because we are starting to get off topic. Edited March 17, 2016 by Guest

Probably not many since I don't know if there are any other fandoms out there that like ponies ;P This same trend could be done with weaboos as well Think For Yourself. Be Yourself.
