After some time of laying and listening to conversations, he tought about the situation. What pony would put innocent ... at least he hopes ... ponies into a camp, in the middle of the dungeon, and erase most of their memory? Rising decided to can't sleep, even with a dafe feeling here, he still thinks, sleep and dead. He stands up and walks to Lightning.

 

"Hey, there."

Amber looked warily at the filly, but decided to leave well enough alone.

"Just be careful," she warned, before trotting away. She noticed that the two chatting ponies had left. I wonder where they went, she thought, concerned. She turned her attention to the two other ponies who sat outside the tent.

They' bore tired faces, and seemed upset. Amber trotted towards them.

"Hello," she said, trying to sound comforting. "Is everything alright...?"

The two ponies started sprinting into the darkness. 

"I hunt all the time. I know what i'm doing" she said as if Overdrive hadn't believed her earlier.

 

"Well, one problem is that i'm separated from home. I know that's one we all share, but my family needs me. I do have other issues, but I would never tell you".

Overdrive sighed. "At least you have a family. I've been without mine for years."

 

The thought of thinking what happened during his colthood only brought back bad memories. Overdrive had undoubtedly one of the worst colthoods imaginable. His mother passed away a few years after he was brought into the world, and his father was tragically killed as part of a misunderstanding back home.

 

"I left home years ago. All I know...," he started to choke up a little as he spoke, "...is that I'm the only one left in my family."

 

He kept up well with Wolf, but had no idea where they were headed.

Wolf began to slow down to a trot and abruptly came to a halt.

Overdrive ran into her; falling backwards.

 

"Be quiet". she said seriously. 

She then knelt down and had her eyes keen on an unsuspecting animal that was rustling in the canopy above.

Wolf was focused and was still as a rock.

 

After a few intense moments, she pounced at the animal that was now on the ground.

After clumsily running into Wolfy, Overdrive got back up, dusted himself off, and intently watched. The technique and form she used, it was clearly something he wasn't used to seeing.

 

He stood there, watching the scene unfold in front of him, and the thing that kept running through his mind was, "What the...?"

 

To a degree, he was mesmerized by her movements, how graceful, agile and tactfully planned they were. Overdrive saw something in her, something that set her apart from the other mares he's seen.

"Nothing's been alright since we all got here. I can't remember anything. I can't even fly. This place took away the only thing I was good at. It helped me forget everything. I..- I..."

That's when Lightning broke down. He held up his walls all day, but all of a sudden, they just broke. He just sat there and sobbed.

"I- I'm pathetic.."  He whispered inbetween sobs...

"Well, besides of the situation we are and that I can't remember most of my life, I'm pretty fine ..."

 

Rising sighs. He just hopes this is a terrible nightmare ... then Lightning suddenly broke down.

 

"Hey, listen, we are all in the same situation, we ave to keep together, your not pathtetic. Your just worried and scared as we all are, okay?"

Synth waited in the tree for long enough that she dozed off into a deep sleep. It was so deep that she managed to fall from the tree into a bush and not wake up. Thanks to her sleep she started to mumble things while she shivered.

 

"Jump Jump little pony, the ground will be nice and swift. There is nothing to be afraid of..."

"OH goodness, that filly fell from the .... oh.... she's alright"

 

Lordy was suprised to see the Filly sleeping calmly after such a fall.

 

"Honestly, we might not remember anything but I for one dont want to spend my entire life here. Me must find a way out of this blasted place"

 

He gives a stabbing look to Lightning and whispers to himself,

 

"maybe then we can find out who's behind all of this..."

Overdrive looked puzzled, watching the grace and agile Wolfy had while she moved and hunted. It was almost unnatural, but at the same time, he was mesmerized. The way and manner in which she moved, it was almost perfect, to a degree, angelic.

 

Yet there was one thing that was on his mind. All the maneuvers she was executing, with the earlier injury she sustained, just make sense to him.

 

"Wolfy, what about your leg?" he asked. "I thought you could hardly move, let alone do all of this?" He was concerned. Any aggravation of the already present injury could prove costly given the situation they faced.

Amber approached Lightning cautiously.

"Shh," she said quietly, patting the stallion's hoof. "Don't worry. We'll get out of here. You're just tired." She smiled tenderly at him, all while thinking about their situation. He can't fly...? I wonder if that's part of this whole...thing. She remembered the sharp pain in her horn when she last tried to use magic. Could something have been interfering with it?

"Can any of the Pegasi fly here?" Amber asked the other stallion.

Rising looks to her, then remembers.

 

"I can move them and stuff, but I can't fly with them, it hurts to try. I think it has to do with the situauation, but I'm not completly sure. What about you and magic? Why not use it, or isn't it working esither? If I just know who does this to us ..."

After a while, Overdrive stepped away from Wolfy momentarily, and stumbled upon a small stream. In it, fresh spring water ran down. He remembered he grabbed a few canteens before heading out into this wilderness with Wolfy.

 

Despite knowing better, he first bent down, and sampled the water to see if it was safe enough for consumption. After he deemed it was safe, he began filling up the canteens as well as taking one last sip for himself. Once done filling the canteens, he reconvened with Wolfy, and her growing pile of catches.

 

"Wow, you've been busy. Do you need help carrying it back?"

"A place where Pegasus magic doesn't work..." Amber paused for a moment.. "You're right, unicorn magic might be faulty, too. Lets see..."

Amber took a step away from the stallions.

Since she'd arrived here, she'd only tried to use minor levitation, but nothing more. Nervous of what the results may be, she pointed her horn at a small rock on the ground. Her horn began to glow a brilliant firey orange, sparkling madly, and after one last flash of light---

Nothing.

 

The mare stood for a moment, wide-eyed and staring at the rock, but nothing happened.

"I can believe it," Amber said in a hushed voice. She tried again and again to make the stone glow, but each time it would fail, leaving her tired and frustrated.

"My magic isn't working either," she said to the stallions. "Just levitation, it seems..." Amber fell silent as she gazed at the unchanged rock. A look of worry and fear formed on her face. How strange, she thought to herself.

Lightning stopped sobbing and looked up.

"Nothing, no Pegasi can fly, nor unicorn can use magic, what is it? Some kind of blockage to magic?"

Lightning stood up and stretched out his wings, but he couldn't seem to move them in the direction that would move him.

"See? Nothing. I can't move at all."

"I know that you don't eat meat, but... I figured that we will have to eat something". She said with a blank expression on her face. 

Wolf then looked at Overdrive and asked: "Can you please help me carry these carcasses to the others? I know that you may find it wrong because they are dead ponies, but..."

 

Overdrive thought about it for a second. "Well, it wouldn't be the weirdest thing I've done before," he thought.

 

"Of course, I'll help carry, especially with your bum leg," he replied.

 

Overdrive began picking up the carcasses, and stacking them on his back. He used his wings to form a basket of sorts, so they wouldn't fall off.

 

He thought again, and then spoke. "Can you tell me a little about yourself?"

"Well, not being able to use magic shouldn't be much of a prblem. It is actually very easy, I lives without it for my entire life",

"We need to organise, split chores and get a plan going! We can't just have everyone doing as they wish leaving off like that, if someone gets lost, we wouldn't know where to find 'em. We need to organise, plan and work. This isn't a camping trip here!"

"My name is Wolf and i'm definitley not from the area. I'm from the high mountains on the other side of Equestria... I have lived there all my life and my family is a pack of wolves". She said.

 

"I sorta... eat ponies. It's what I was taught. I'm afraid that if I tell the orhers, they will be afrakd that i'll canabalize them".

"Well, I sorta gathered that from harvesting carcasses. To be honest, it's not the weirdest thing I've heard of."

 

The carcasses gave off an unpleasant smell, but Overdrive didn't mind. "Have you ever thought about coming to civilization?"

 

He immediately shut his mouth, realizing what he had just asked.

Wolf stopped in her tracks and begun having a flashback.

The vision was was rushed and it was black and white in her mind. Her parents were bwing mauled to death by wolves in the village she used to live in so peacefully so long ago.

 

When she snapped out of it, she shook her head and said: "No, I haven't. Not anymore, at least. I couldn't imagine having someone I love murdered".

Overdrive looked over, and saw tears begin to well up in her eyes. "I'm so sorry, I had no idea. I didn't mean to upset you."

 

He sat the carcasses down on the ground, went over, and comforted her. "I feel really bad now. I'm really sorry. I just wanted to know a little more about you."

It's not your fault. A lot of different things trigger my PTSD.

My parents were killed by a pack of rabid wolves in front of our house...I watched in horror as they were shred to bloody pieces.

 

I then was adopted by apack of friendly wolves after getting lost in the woods.

"Well, I can't say my life was any easier. I grew up in a bad neighborhood outside of Applewood. My mother died of terminal illness, and my father, well I don't exactly know what happened but from what I understand, he was gunned down."

 

He sighed, and then thought about the situation they faced. "We need to get out of here. I don't know what it is, but something here is telling me we aren't safe."

"A magic blockage?" Amber asked herself, ignoring Lordy's words. She walked over to the small rock she had tried to cast a spell on, and kicked it gently over. She turned back to the stallions.

"I've heard of a few things that can block magic...Certain...enchantments..." Amber closed her eyes and tried to remember. Her head throbbed painfully, but after a moment of thought, a passage came to mind. She opened her eyes.

"Very few unicorns have successfully cast magic-cancelling spells, but there are other creatures who are known to be proficient with them. These include mainly ancient creatures not common in Equestria today, and the two most notable of these were Discord, who was able to manipulate all kinds of magic, and Tirek, who stole he magic for himself to gain power..." Amber paused.

"That seems sort of far-fetched though, doesn't it?" She laughed half-heartedly, trying to smile.

"Maybe there's some sort of mineral that cancels magic out? I don't know... No matter what answer I come up with, it seems too crazy to be real." She looked around at the patchwork setting around her and sighed.

"This place is too crazy to be real," she said, exhausted.

Synth yawned and stood up confused as too how she had gotten from the tree into the bush trotted over near the other and called out, "perhaps its something to do with our bodies and not an external source for our block. Ah well" she gave a yawn and trotted off and started to dig into the ground a little ways away.

Overdrive sighed. He felt as if there was something amiss with this world they were in. "Something seriously doesn't feel right."

 

He began observing his surroundings more, and despite how perfect and natural it appeared, Overdrive couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

"You can say that again." Lightning chuckled whilst looking around.

"It just.. Doesn't make sense. We all wake up here, in a place God knows where it's located, and we find these backpacks. Who wants us here? Is it some kind of torture for something we've done in our past lives? Is it torture? A test to see who will lose their sanity first? It doesn't add up."

"And anyway," Lightning pointed towards the bags, "Whoever put us here, obviously thinks we won't be getting out soon."

"We need to explore, we need to find where we are, and map it out, figure out our surroundings, maybe then we can make an estimate of where we are."

@@Overdrive,

"I'm hoping Overdrive will accept my invitation to help me explore when light comes. He seems to know his way around with his hooves, I guess we'll just have to see."

(OOC: @@Overdrive, You have all the right to reject the invitation on this so called "exploration" through the jungle. Just let me know in the next few RPs if you would like to accept it )

"Well ... anyway. What ever keep us here has a reason. If it is, because he or she or it hates us, or bored or whatever. But whatever is expected, we ned to keep together. We reach nothing, if we all get into a fight. We all have our fear, but I believe in you all, that we can go trough it ... I hope ..."

 

Rising sighs loud.

 

"Just let us keep together. We should make a plan or something. I believe in, that we can go trough it."

Amber grinned widely at the sound of the word "explore". Firelight glinted madly in her eyes as excitement rose within her. She turned to face Lightning.

"I don't need sunlight to explore," she said with a smile. "And I can certainly help with this map. If we have the materials, I could plot of out for us." She looked over to the backpacks. Trotting over to them, she explained.

"I may be a unicorn, but I have earth pony in my blood. I can handle myself in the wilderness, and exploring the land is what I live for... At least, I think it was," she added grimly. Amber began rummaging through the packs. Lets see, she thought, flashlights, batteries, rope, rations...hmm...

"No paper," she said, "or knives, or elastic or anything. And I don't want to waste this cloth on a map..." She looked over to the others. "But I don't think whoever put is here wanted to torture us...otherwise they wouldn't have given us all this food. Maybe they're just testing us. "Amber held up the backpack.

"Is it alright if I take this one?"
