So trolls can't wreak havoc on places like Life Advice and other sensitive areas... at least, not until we can know much about what they may be like, and catch them early on

@Cipher Splash, basically what  stated. Unfriendly member containment is what I call it. It has proven effective. Post limits allow us (staff and the community) to get to  know the member. If hastens staff response to trolls and spammers. And yes there are areas inaccessible to even Muffins. You need 40 posts to reach our Debate Pit area which is important due to the polarizing nature of the topics. We want to get to know you, and you get to know us ... and 5-40 posts allows for that to happen. 

@Cipher Splash, also as a follow-up ... I changed your prefix and topic title to fit the purpose of your post, which I will assume wasn't to artificially inflate your post count.
