Why does it seem Bronies are so against change in the show?

Heh, yeah, because you'd probably laugh and enjoy it if Applejack were rebooted into a bulky idiot and Twilight did nothing but use long words.

If it was just a spin-off separate from MLP, I don't see why I would care. It's as easy as not watching it.

It really doesn't do anything to complain or criticize it. Its already happened, so there's really nothing we can do about it.

Except that it does. People are just voicing their disapproval of something they don't agree or like, much like those who voice their approval. Dissent is a natural and healthy part of discourse. We should tolerate it and embrace it, not sweep it under the rug.

If you have a voice, its only natural that you may want to be heard.

One thing that is largely shared through all these fandoms is resistance to change or evolution. When it comes to rules changes in racing or a new evolution of a beloved show, there is almost always going to be a fight back.

*cough* Sonic *cough*

In all seriousness, there are some changes I appreciate (letting anyone write to Celestia/the journal rather than just Twilight), some I was skeptical about but have come to enjoy (Twilicorn), and some I wish they could've done better (introducing Shining Armor and Cadence so hastily) Not once have I disliked an idea to the point that it hurts my experience. I'm open to seeing Hasbro and DHX try new ideas, provided it doesn't get too extreme.

That being said, I'm still on the fence about Rainbow Power. Really, could they make their hair look anymore ridiculous? XP
