This guy makes valid points and i find console wars to be an annoying fad, fanboys and girls will try and tick you off when you even mention a console. For instance, the only thing people seem to do is get aggressive when you say "i have a 360 and i love it" and guess what happens, all the ps3 fanboys will grill you alive for it. What is this WW3?! Now tell me, what do people get out of doing this? they get nothing, zero. I could care less for them, but when i go to se what a game is like, oh no, there is is! 

 

Now the reason i say this is because i see it all over the web, be it gamefaqs, youtube, you name it; you'll find them. I keep my opinions to myself and ever start flamming people for what they like.If you like the PS3, its your right, you like the 360? good for you. But don't ever say yours is better, want to know why? because each console has its flaws.

 

Biggest load i ever heard before? "PS3 slim won't break if dropped". How high were you holding it off the ground? 2 inches? Every system will break eventually sooner or later. It doesn't matter if you got slim or fat consoles, they WILL break regardless. All these butthurt fanboys and Fangirls need to suck it up, your not the king or queen of the gaming world, your just a gamer like everybody else.

 

Now for those who don't go and antagonize others for liking a certain console, congrats you have graduated from the diaper. give yourself a pat on the back because you are a true grown adult and i applaud you for it.

Now Let's move on to PC gamers, these are worst imo, they never shut up about how they are the master race, which doesn't mean jack in todays world. So you have a PC, so does everybody else in the world; it doesn't make you special, as i said with console gamers, it won't make one bit of difference, only leads to more arrogance. Tell me, what do you get out of being an elitist? same as console gamers, nothing. 

 

Now i have a notebook which functions the same way a desktop does, does that make me better than you, hell no! it makes me a normal gamer, same as you are. i've had people fighting over who got the better end of the deal, others fighting and saying "consoles suck". How old are you? 3? I'm ashamed of those that try to be an elitist and make fun of others for what they play.Now either suck it up or don't say a darn word.

In the defense of PC gamers, of which I am not, they do have more options as far as game customization goes. If that's your thing it's something consoles in their locked states cannot even begin to compete with.

 

Personally I'd say it's all about the games. What console or system you play on is completely irrelevant.

 

On that note there are still legit reasons to not like certain consoles. A lot of people don't like the shallow offerings of the Wii-U as far as mature games are concerned. I don't like when the PS3 and 360 or the PS4 and Xbone share almost their entire libraries. What's even the point of having multiple consoles if they're just going to be near-perfect clones of each other?

 

The console wars do exist for a reason but it's also very true that people get waaaaay too caught up in brand loyalty.

Everyone's got a little bit of an elitist in them. It's how you show it that really makes the difference, I should think.

 

I've honestly only run into a few super narrow-minded people since I left the trolling grounds of Gamefaqs. It's easy to think those types stand out because of their obnoxious behavior but when you've trained yourself to ignore them the gaming community is so much better.

 

Just gotta learn to talk things out. Sometimes they're obnoxious because no one will listen to them otherwise. I've made some friends out of people who were extremely anti-some console here but it's almost never as bad as it sounds.

They're arrogant, in a constant state of denial that the PS4 is limited (I've even seen one deny that Battlefield 4 crashes on the PS4 and that Assassin's Creed Unity is utterly broken on the PS4, ugh) and seem completely indoctrinated by Sony's marketing, including the whole "cinematic experience" crap. I've tried to have normal conversations with them and as soon as I mention I'm a PC gamer to them they begin going like "LOL HOW'S UNCHARTED???? OH WAIT!"

 

Using exclusives to justify your investment into a certain ecosystem is just a sign of insecurity to me. Using exclusive titles to justify their purchases and make themselves feel great about it. I pity them.

I'd argue that exclusives are the only legit reason to love one console over another but I do pity the fool who doesn't branch out enough that exclusives are the only games they play. There's literally hundreds of games released every year but they restrict themselves to less than ten. If that. That's not even to mention all the games from previous years. There are options, some just choose not to take the time to learn them.

Tell that to the people who can't relate to something that isn't catered to their age specifically. I'm not saying you can't feel that way, and I certainly agree with you on a personal level, but there's a reason people prefer games made for adults.

 

It's not just the content matter but the way they are handled that turns people off. Some developers think that because kids or "casuals" (for lack of a better word) are the main ones who play it they don't need to follow some of the more important conventions of game design to make it interesting for the adult gamer.

 

This isn't always the case but even the most well-made games can be completely unappealing to some adults. It's not even about a "oh this is kiddy" mentality but a difficulty to find any interest in the general idea.

Console Wars are extremely annoying but from my own experiences Sony fanboys are the absolute worst, don't you dare bring up anything Microsoft-related (and the ones who spell it like 'Micro$oft' are the most childish) unless you want to know how superior the PS4 is. The PC community is the most tolerable I've seen as the "PC MASTER RACE" thing is just a joke.

 

For this gen, I'd rate it as Nintendo > Microsoft > Sony, that's just me personally though.

The reason the Wii is outselling is because they don't try for one type of person, they reach out to pull others into it. Don't listen to what other people say, its your choice, you get what you want and you get what you're looking for. Must i repeat myself? i got a 360 cause i want reliability on MP.

I don't think Nintendo is exclusive in bringing in new people though. They just have an entirely different demographic to market to. There's enough variety on every console to bring in more and varied people.

Thank you for correcting me. There are people who say the 360 is a VCR, not true in the slightest, it outperforms the PS3 in that general area with 300,000 servers.

While i know almost nothing about PC's i still know when someone is being a jerk about it. I know several pc gamers and they have earned my respect, which is never easy to do. Know that i don't hate PC Gamers, as i said before i only respect those who don't worship it like its a god.

Oh indeed. I tend to include PC when I talk about the consoles as an umbrella statement. It has more freedom but it's just another platform to play on as far as I'm concerned.

 

Quite honestly I'd be perfectly fine with all of the consoles going away and PC becoming the only gaming device just so developers would put more focus in creating the game than whether it'll work on two different systems and whatnot.
