What are some of the best fanfictions you've read recently???  Besides "Fallout: Equestria" or "Past Sins" or some other story every brony has heard of that is.  Ground rules, no clopping/shipping fanfictions.  I don't care if you personally like that kind of story.  The way I see it, nine times out of ten, those kind of storys are nothing more then porn and are just a muddled mess of a narative.  Ok, now that we've got that out of the way, are there any great MLP fanfictions you've read that generally fly under the radar???????

I can guarantee there's no sexual or shipping themes (unless you read between the lines and try to piece things together to something they're not way too much) I could see it being an episode, and a good one at that too! Or maybe im just biased 'cos it's about Fluttershy, i dunno.

My Little Dashie is pretty good if you like sad stories. It's about a lonely guy who raises a rainbow dash filly he found on the street. It's a really bittersweet story.

History Repeats by SaddleSoapOpera.  To combat The Smooze, Luna brings in an older Megan (suffering PTSD).  One small problem.  The Smooze was beaten by the Flutterponies & there ain't none no more.

 

On a Cross and Arrow.   A miscast Tport spell sends the Mane 6 to a gender switched Ponyville.

 

The Secret Life of Rarity.  Rarity is a serial killer.  This is what Cupcakes wanted to be but wasn't. EXTREME violence & torture.  This is one of the darkest things I've ever read in any genre (& I've read Stephen King & Lovecraft).  Good, though.  Several sequels, but none as good as the 1st.

 

You've probably heard of the last 2, so I'll end w Unwell.  Twilight has ACMS (Abstract Cutie Mark Syndrone = Pony Asperger's).  There is a sequel planned

 

Several others, but you specified no shipping & probably don't want anything unfinished.

I recently read a story called "Veil of Thoughts".  Btw here it is. http://www.fimfiction.net/story/34351/veil-of-thoughts  The story is about how Twilight Sparkle messes up yet another spell and, as a result, she and Rainbow Dash end up getting fused together and are forced to share the same body.  I really like this story because Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash have two of the most opposite personalities in the show.  One's a socially awkward bookworm while the other's an adrenaline junky.  So, it's really engaging to read about how they try to cope with being fused together.  And no, this is not a ship fic because there is no romantic chemistry, whatsoever between Dash and Twilight.  Granted, it was born out of the author wanting an excuse to write "Twilight Dash" without having to ship them, but I do not exagerate when I say that this is a work of art.
