movies/tv Was Snyder really that bad?

I've heard people talk about Stuart Snyder as though he's the devil. According to people, he was responsible for the so-called "dark period" of CN. Let me ask you something: What did he do that was so bad?

I don't see what was so bad about this period. Snyder was just doing what business executives are supposed to do, and that's change with the times. The shows made during this period were just attempts at catering to kids' changing tastes, which was live action

It was live-action on top of a consistent lack of quality control. We weren't just getting live-action shows no one wanted, we were getting really bad ones, all of which were rip-offs of pre-existing shows, but with adults replaced with kids. They were ally copy-n-paste, soulless, heartless, effortless, assembly-line made programs that tried to leech off the success the live-action shows of Disney and Nickelodeon

The network was made on the foundation of being a cartoon only network, and obviously trying turning the network into the complete opposite wasn't a smart choice, and it was almost univerally hated by everyone who was a fan of Cartoon Network, both kids' and adults alike

Also there was more to people hating Snyder than just Live-Action(though that's probably the biggest), like killing Toonami, nearly getting rid of anime (despite being a huge success for the network), etc.

Before I read this thread I had never heard of Stuart Snyder but now that I do know I am glad he is gone. He is another one of those execs that is completely out of touch and clueless with his audience, to put it simply he was incompetent. One of the things that made Cartoon Network great was one of the same things that made Nickelodeon great and it was the creator driven show where the creators were given a large degree of creative freedom in the process. Shows like What A Cartoon Show for example gave cartoonists a chance to show pilots and some of those pilots went on the become some of Cartoon Networks most successful original shows. This and classic cartoons such as Looney Toons are what built Cartoon Network and anime especially it's Toonami lineup expanded on its success.

Cartoon Network was starting to go on the right track with shows like the Thudercats reboot and its "DC Nation" lineup but far too frequent changes in timeslot along with poor advertising are to blame for ratings not being what they could have been. The Thundercats reboot in particular had the potential to be Cartoon Networks best original show ever and I don't say that lightly yet it was cut long before its time just as it was getting good. Beware The Batman was also cut before its time and Green Lantern the Animated Series and Young Justice had some very unsatisfying series finales. Star Wars The Clone Wars had a better conclusion but is still left with a lot of unaswered questions. With the appearance of Ashoka Tano in the Star Wars Rebels season 1 finale we will at least hopefully get some of them answered.
