So, if Equestria was hypothetically threatened by an awfully dangerous and near-omnipotent villain, whose menace is bigger than Tirek himself and the Princesses are way too weak compared to him/her/it, do you think the Mane 6 would be willing to perform a heroic sacrifice, being well aware they will lose their lives in the progress, and knowing it'd be the only way to defeat the bad guy? Our little mares have grown up so much ever since their debut and will do everything in their power to stop antagonists from messing with the land they love, so, what are your thoughts on this situation?

AJ and Rarity would be really uncool with it since they've got family (and Apple Bloom already lost her parents, AJ wouldn't want her to lose her sister. Sweetie'd be all on her lonesome) and Twi, Flutters, and Pinkie Pie all have people in Ponyville they care about (The Cakes, the animals, Spike). As for RD? Scootaloo looks up to her. They have a close sister-like relationship going on, and if you consider the fandom head-canon that the girl's an orphan, it's even worse.

 

But if they had the chance to save those they care about? I think they'd do it. They'd be reluctant-- they'd be mad if they weren't-- but eventually, if there was no other choice, they'd do it. I believe in them.

Rarity is the element of generosity, generally giving away goods and services without a second thought to those in need. The ultimate generosity would be to lay down one's life so that your friends, and by extension, your world, may continue to exist in harmony.

 

I'd feel sorry for spike, too.

 

 

Twilight, believing it to be her duty as a new princess, would try to find alternatives, but fail. Instead of living ad and alone, she'd rather die happy with her friends.

 

Rainbow Dash's unwavering loyalty seals her fate.

 

Pinkie pie, along with applejack, would probably very reluctant. However, applejack has somewhat of an honor code ( hard work and honesty) and wouldn't feel right letting her friends charge in alone. Pinkie would follow suit.

 

And finally, Fluttershy's kindness, towards all life, would emotionally convince her to do it.

The six of them have already put their lives on the line in for than one instance. I can see them heroically sacrificing themselves for the good of their home...

Definitely, they will sacrifice their lives to save Equestria anytime, but I think that'll be too strong and heartbreaking for the show. MAYBE they'll make them sacrifice their powers or something, but not their lives, despite they're perfectly eilling to do so

If there was absolutely no other alternative, of course.

 

But I don't think it'd ever get to that point. The bond they share with each other is strong, it gives each of them their true power (after all, friendship is magic) and that bond would be far more powerful than any sacrificial magic in the first place.
