"and im not named after the 50. caliber, im named after excaliber. take away the 'ex' " caliber said, as he tripped. he fell hard, rolling, but he recovered, and continued skating. "sooooo...you use ice magic, right? i use my trusty sword." caliber sliced a tree in half, to demonstrate his point. "but that boomerang thing looked awesome."

But fortunatley my sword and my armor were designed specifically for combating these said forces of evil! Wilhelm appeared behind him, with a rather large weapon, glowing with green light, slung over his flank, and a map of Equestria in his hands, with several locations marked. He narrowed his eyes slightly at Silver. "Yes, I'm home." He sat down at a large table and, inviting people to pull up chairs, put the map down and spread it. "So, you see, this here is the known entrance of Tartarus. However, without a method of flight, we won't be able to get out. So," he pointed to a different location, "this is the only other exit. We'll need this as a escape route. Now, assuming he dropped it into the pit here," he pointed at the first location again, "then assuming a monster took it, it should have ended up....here." He pointed finally at one other location deep underground, in the middle of a maze and with hundreds of interlockimg, confusing tunnels wandering around the area and intersecting with natural chasms. "Unfortunately, this is also the area with the largest concentration of monsters."

Oh there you are Willhelm! I'll be with you in a moment. Right now I am in the middle of a discussion with our comrade Caliber. *Silver said politely as he watched Caliber examine his sword.* Ah yes that blade is my pride. I have slain many monsters and demons with it. And as long as I have that blade I will not lose to evil!

"so this is excaliber, huh?" he set his own sword beside it. "well, if it is a good blade, my sword shouldn't be able to cut it." he pressed the edges together. neither one dulled, or got a chip. "woah..." caliber said. "this sword...its just as good as mine!" he handed the sword back. "but that cant be right...my sword is mythril. tempered with dragon fire, enchanted to be more durable and effective! that's just normal steel!" he heard wilhelm explain where the amulet was. "soooo...the amulet is in the most dangerous part of tartarus? go figure."

Blizzard was not happy at losing, "Aw come on!! Ok, loss of a race doesn't mean a less *skates high into the sky and drops down to the base of the tower* DYNAMIC ENTRY SURPISE!!!! Bam!! Ok is everypony here and standing by? If so let go inside, but first we gotta make sure, we're safe. Nopony was followed here by an outside force right?"

Wilhelm shrugged. "Eh. Some monster probably sensed it was powerful and decided to take it. Then his boss made it safe as possible." He nodded slightly for no apparent reason. "Usually, there's a boss behind these things. A Sombra or a Discord, if you will."

As he enters IB was amazed, "Nice place you got here Will, never been in an astronomy tower before. Now SS and Cal, the last thing we need is a rift within our team, we can't have fragility like that if we're meant to work together and learn some values of friendship or teamwork right? Celestia expects the very best from us all and she wouldn't have put this responsibility upon us if we were unfit for the job alright? Now I not expecting anything but at least get along with each other while we're on this mission, especially since Celestia knows you two more, you both may end up getting the worse end of the punishment, because she'd expect the best fron two ponies she's known for a while. IB Surveyed the map, "Hmm sounds like a pretty decent plan although maybe covering as much ground as possible is a good idea? Let's split up into pairs and search a portion of Tartarus, If any of us get into trouble or find the relic, we can use the pendants Celestia gave us to tell the other team's location and what's going on. Sound like a good plan?"

Wilhelm looked up at the ceiling with a air of constant despair and gestured towards the red velvet cake with caramel and chocolate ganache sitting on the top of a refrigerator. There was a second refrigerator as well, but there was a very large sign on front referencing hazardous chemicals and breaking the pressure seal for controlled amounts of lithium. Then, he turned back to the map. "Yes, that's most likely the best route. However, I have read Dante Aligeiri's account of the circles of Tartarus, and this," he pointed to the tunnel Caliber indicated, "leads us straight down to the River Phlegethon, which may prove...problematic. Supposedly, there's a massive fortress held by a warlord there-if he's still alive, that is. After that," Wilhelm drew a hoof along the map, tracking the progress of the single tunnel, "this goes through the fifth, sixth, and seventh circles, although we will have to travel three and four...a good thing, to be sure. However, at the eighth, it bottoms out midair. We'll have to send us down either using a rather dangerous invention that I've been working on-or we can get a flying spell from Twilight Sparkle-or we can send each other down by having ponies hitch a ride on the back of the wing-endowed like me." Wilhelm fluttered his navy blue-feathered wings for a minute, and then folded them back against his flank. "Then, from there...." He closed his eyes for a second, as if remembering something. "Lucifer, entombed in the eternal ice of the Cocytus, frozen in the middle of the Pit, but still screaming his hate for the Creator as the ice flowed over him." Wilhelm opened his eyes and shrugged. "Just a bit of literature. But behind every legend is a bit of truth....and I certainly wouldn't like to see what inspired that particular one."

caliber gave his sword back, before saying, "lets not forget, this is tartarus we're talking about. splitting up may be a deathwish. i say we stick together" caliber was munching on the cake. "i know we could cover more ground that way, and it might be faster, but for the highest chance at survival, i say we stick together."
