Twilight Frost 271 March 26, 2015 Share March 26, 2015 I had a online frined of mine introduce me to the show not that long ago. I am about 12 episodes I think in now and I really like it! So much that I decided to look for someone to talk too since my friend has not been online in a while. Is there any particular season I should start with? I started watching some episodes given to me that is suppose to be the first season, but does it matter what order I watch it in? Are there episodes I should skip out on and does it have any "filly" episodes like in what anime has like all the filler episodes for naruto and stuff? I know there are comics cuz I seen them in real life. But is the show seperate from the comics? I am so sorry to axe so many questions.
Felix 1,363 March 26, 2015 Share March 26, 2015 (edited) The first season has no coordination with the rest of them really (other than introducing characters and plot) So if you start on any season that begins to develop a story and you should follow the episodes on it'd probably be Season 2 or 3. Season 2 is where things really get good too. I'd definitely advise against skipping straight to Season 4 though. At that point nothing will make sense unless you've seen the seasons before it. But, it'd probably be best to watch it from beginning to end anyway like any other show. Edited March 26, 2015 by Felix Credit to Kyoshi for the awesome signature! Twilight Frost 271 March 26, 2015 Author Share March 26, 2015 OK. any episodes you highly reccomend?
Yummychickenblue 303 March 26, 2015 Share March 26, 2015 Yes, the show is seperate from the comics. The episodes are mostly episodic so no ver arching plots until season 4, and even then the over arching plot is very backseated to the individual episodes. You could start with Season 1. As for episodes to skip the only I'd recomend is that comic book crossover one (i've never liked episods like that in tv shows) but maybe you're into that kind of thing. TheJLeeTeam 914 March 26, 2015 Share March 26, 2015 I would start with Season 1 episodes since they're the easiest to follow. While you could go with the first 2 parter I would recommend Winter Wrap Up since it has a unique setting and has one of my favorite songs. Suukorak 354 March 26, 2015 Share March 26, 2015 Opinions on various episodes vary greatly, so there are none universally agreed to be bad and few universally seen as good. I would say forge ahead in chronological order, but you really can't go wrong. Don't skip any episodes, though; they might look like a lot now, but when you've seen them all, you realize there aren't all that many. Savor it, I say - you'll soon hunger for more pony than currently exists. It's a bug and a feature!
Simon 4,557 March 26, 2015 Share March 26, 2015 Just start at the beginning and watch it in order. There's a lot of continuity and over-arching plots both within seasons and across seasons, so it'll make the whole series much, much more enjoyable if you just watch it from start to finish in order. You might hit an episode here and there that you don't enjoy as much, but you won't know what you don't enjoy until you watch them all.
Ashen Pathfinder 16,164 March 26, 2015 Share March 26, 2015 What @Simon said! The pilot introduces us to the basic lore of the series, gives us how Twilight met the Mane 6, and gives us a more than capable villain in Nightmare Moon. Season 1 might be a little basic to start with, but it's that way for a reason. Just start at the beginning. Pathfinder I Sojourner I Corsair | Zu'hra I Autumn | Scarlet Willow | Gypsy | Silverthorn | Crystal Whisper | Radiant Historia | And many other OCs~ Matching signatures with mah Bestie MOONLIGHT <
mars 4,863 March 26, 2015 Share March 26, 2015 I'm not the biggest fan of season one, but I honestly recommend starting from the beginning of the show. It introduces their characters and has a lot of story building. There's no need to leap ahead and then get confused because you started in the middle of the second season. sweetolebob18 728 March 26, 2015 Share March 26, 2015 The episodes are NOT in chronological order, (For instance, Winter Wrap Up is shown before Fall Weather Friends) but there is not an agreed sequence. Just be aware things are not proceeding in strict chronological order. It is not X Files or Lost, you should be able to follow. The only 2 "must see" episodes are # 65 Magical Mystery Cure & # 91-92 Twilight's Kingdom. You should watch them before Season 5. You will not be lost if you don't, but there are some plot critical things (can't mention for spoilers) you should see there. As to the others, #23 Cutie Mark Chronicles probably has more back story than all the other episodes put together. Just watch the rest as you find the time.
