Is Pinkie an engineer?

So im rewatching all the

episodes of MLPFIM and I

remember that in one episode Pinkie

uses some weird machine to

catch up w Gilda and RD.

 

My friend took it this way in 

addition of her party cannon that

Pinkie knows some high level

of mathematics. He came up with

the idea first. 

 

And although its not canon, there

is also that scene in Equestria

girls: rainbow rocks where Pinkie

finds a loophole in the "30 moon

mirrior system"

 

What does everypony think?

She could be an engineer but I think the things you mentioned are just part of her randomness.

She also knew how an interdemensional portal that twilight built and was able to explain it when Twilight couldn't. I have a feeling if her focus didn't go to partying and instead went to science like with Twilight she would be a quite formidable mad scientist lol. She can literally memorize books by glancing at the pages and call upon that information for later, she probably saw some engineering and aerodynamics books and retained the information so well that she whipped up the contraption out of instinct. 

 

And then there's the fact her Equestria girls counterpart seems to possess magic powers far beyond the typical residents, like materializing balloons from her dress, cracking open bottles with her hair, manipulating her image in a mirror, and of course being able to accurately describe another dimension to Twilight whom she supposedly just met. 

 

An interesting note is she avoids answering HOW she does it when asked

Amazing theory. Pinkie might be even more than an engineer considering what she can do. Really takes a "ditzy" character, a bubble-head, and turns the common stereotype on its head.

 

Maybe its because she doesn't have all those ideas about how the world works and inhibitions concerning herself that she ends up with the right answer. In other words, because she's empty, she's full.

Unfortunately I think she's just being Pinkie. Those are mostly jokes and shouldn't be taken too seriously.

I doubt she's an engineer, I think those are just part of her 'random' personality.

 

She is, however, (I think) actually very smart. She knows how to build all the weird contraption things, she is quite advanced at maths, and she does actually know when to stop being so bubbly and random when she needs to. She's not just some character that lives with her head in the clouds and doesn't pay attention to what's going on (for example, look at what she is doing at the end of season four when Tirek is offering her and the rest of the ponies for Twilight's magic). In fact, she even recognizes herself that she does random things in the Cranky episode "I sung a song at complete random..." or something like that. I'm digressing, but I think her real personality, as displayed in her smile song, is that she acts like that because she knows they are random and she knows that most people/ponies find them funny. She just wants to make everyone happy.

 

Which is probably why she went insane when she thought nobody wanted to hang out with her (but they were setting up a birthday or something). Imagine what would happen if the one thing, the main thing, you strove to achieve for a massive portion of your life was to make people happy, and you suddenly realize that they don't care, that you were just being annoying.

 

Meh, I've gone way off topic.

Pinkie Pie is actually a goddess who was sent to the pony world to live among other ponies. She was the one who led the founders to what is now called Equestria. When she said she had to move rocks, what she really meant was that she had to create the paths to lead the founders to Equestria. She was the one who created Equestria. 

 

Seriously, Pinkie Pie is Pinkie Pie. She's random and unpredictable. She can create almost anything. That's why I love her.
