Oh, I just realized something that would be cool. I (meaning Wilhelm, though I came up with the theory) worked on the A/H/E series of airships, which relates heavily to Magitek for the whole business of using an enchanted item to work similarity to a unicorn's horn but without the flexibility and with only one type of focus and distilling of magic; basically, the processor unit turns pure magic into a extremely high-energy fuel in roughly the same way that a transmutation spell works- combined with a gratuitous amount of actual reformatting of the magic to get the process started, of course.

 

What I was thinking would be that Lektra could have been the Magitek consultant for that project, which would be kind of awesome. Perhaps.

You'd need a Uni feeding this spell by the sound of it. Her Magitek works on directive spells (Programming), an enchanted motor (Source of motion) that's enchanted to spin, with mana from the environment to feed the motor (Power for the enchantment). The motor using ambient mana is what I call a Mana Core.

I actually recall theorizing a sort of "lightning rod" for ambient Equestrian atmospheric magic that was used to collect magic on the early Mk2 Impeller Engine. Nowadays, of course, we use modern harmonic field reactors to generate magic from the underlying harmonic field systems that power magic entirely instead of relying on ambient magic.

 

Furthermore, I see your point about the unicorn feeding the spell, but the whole point of the processor unit is that it is designed to work something like a unicorn robot would do. In effect, it's a unicorn's brain and horn with only a single spell to perform, but the magitek equivalent of the above.
