Are you implying that Lektra is the only enchanter in Equestria, or implying that Trixie has to enchant items herself to sell enchanted items? Because the first is unlikely, and the second is like saying a Dollar Tree store can't sell chips because they don't cut and peel the potatoes themselves.

I'm saying there's a lot of enchanting involved in Magitek. Take it how you will. I had assumed she sold commonly known written spells and spellbooks, and not so much actual enchanted items like talismans.

She had to know what the alicorn amulet was somehow, right? If anything, though, she's probably going to be doing most of the first, and then a lot of imbuing rather than enchanting.

Yes, I did. Makes sense and helps me visualize what Lektra does. I'm working on concepts of Wilhelm's stuff, but while I've nearly made the sword to my satisfaction, I can't do the bow and I'm having some issues with the repeater rifle.

Okay Corona, mind explaining what the heck happened here? Did she run out of mana for her Gemkinesis? She wasn't showing signs of being tired. Rarity was winning.

 

That gem around her neck is a rare mineral that serves two purposes:

 

It stores magic as an external source for later use (mana in a bottle, essentially)

It acts as a master controller for common gems so the wearer can bring out their abilities.

 

She overbanked on her abilities and ran out of the power she'd been storing in the necklace, so she could no longer control the gems nor handle the amount of power she was putting out while using them.

I honestly think that was unnecessary. Rarity isn't a character that needs any balancing. At least that's what I think.

Rarity: Beat her up. I mean, honestly. How hard can it be? Dodge some magic beams, whack some rubies out of the air like one would an ticking grenade instead of dodging them, and then hit Rarity with something heavy.

 

Applejack: What's she gonna do, buck me? I'll just hover in the air and pin her down with arrows.

 

Maud Pie: See "Applejack".

 

Rainbow Dash: Pretend to fawn over her awesomeness and pull a SM Versus IB Opening. But with something more... shocking. If all else fails, attempt to use Wilhelm's brains against her and trick her into a place where he has the advantage. Probably disable RD's flying for an instant win.

 

Trixie: Still considering. Possibly open up with the repeater rifle at long range, nullify any big spells (works only once before entire battery drains, depends on how big the spell is, takes time to find frequency and generate the appropriate cosine), and then go in for a close range kill.

 

Twilight: See Trixie. Possibly just have the match be a cultured discussion over tea about quantum mechanics and fine literature until one of us passes out from boredom? The last geek left drinking tea and reading wins.

She may also be planning a rematch at some point; either or both interpretations can only be confirmed or denied by Corona. Furthermore, there is always the chance that somepony said "beat these ponies or we kill Sweetie" or something similarily horribly contrived, but I doubt that very much. More likely, it's the first interpretation, and the first fight she lost was protecting Sweetie from something. Which is important Rarity backstory that IB should know if he plans to date her, especially since that's one hell of a conversation topic/bonding moment.
