"That's just not normal." she thought, as the unicorn proceeded to jump her barrier and come at her at a frankly ridiculous speed. "Only have time for one spell..."

She threw up a barrier just before he hit, this time a wall to block the strikes which came at a rate almost too fast for her to keep up.

She then threw up two more protecting her flank.

"Underestimate you? No way, chuckles," she said behind the barrier, watching cracks start to build across the surface. "I was just checking to make sure you were giving me your full attention. Otherwise, it's like you're skipping out on a date; I just get cranky, y'know?"

She joked, but inside, her thoughts were spinning. "Okay, Sleight Mist, do something. If you run, he catches you. If you don't move, he comes in here, and we don't want that. I need space. But how?"

The barrier was now fractured from top to bottom. A few more strikes, and it would be done.

"Of course!"

She summoned a small blue pellet and threw it down, just in time for the barrier to break, Dark blue smoke bellowed out onto the field, obscuring sight for dozens of feet.

In the smoke, two objects brushed past Caliber. When the smoke cleared, two identical Sleight Mists would be seen running on the field, one moving towards a nearby elevated platform, the other moving in the opposite direction toward the waterfall.

"You can only catch one of u... you know how this goes." They said in unison.

rebilac smirked. "thats not a power-up," he said, as dark magic exploded around him, "this is a power-up" he dashed towards green with speed that doesn't belong to a normal pony, and started a flurry of attacks that seemed to come from everywhere. "lets see you use your fancy sword now!" he said as he continued the onslaught, getting steadily faster at a quicker rate than before.

Exactly what green was hoping for an up close encounter. He started to dodge and only a few went his way then one cut his hat. His last hat. This made him extremely angry so he blasted everything he had in one shot aimed directly downward he wanted an explosion a huge one.

Rebilac P.O.V.

he felt himself get flung through the air, and he recovered in mid-air, slowly turning to look at green. he shot a few blasts, landed on the ground with stinging in his hooves, and ran towards green. "i wont let up!!"

Caliber P.O.V.

he watched the two run. he concentrated, and opened his eyes, focusing on auras. one of the doubles had a much stronger aura than the other. so that must be the real one. the other is just a clone. he dashed towards her, gaining ground. "it wont work!!"

Green threw his hat into the crowd. He couldn't have any excess weight beside his sword for what he was gonna attempt. He flew extremely high to the point where no one could even see him. Then he dove while charging his lightning, this would be his last shot with lightning that he was gonna be able to pull off. He dove from so high that he could barely keep his eyes open.

"No, I suppose not," she sighed, watching him bear down on her. "But i'm through running anyway." She de-summoned the clone, then turned around to face him, six barriers swirling like hornets around her. Unlike the first, however, these barriers were red, and very visible, obscuring Caliber's view of her. There was one that wasn't, however, and she kept it in front of her, facing him; she might need it if this went wrong.

"For now, at least." she thought. "I wouldn't touch those if I was you, by the way; they don't do so well with foreign magic signatures. Anyways, while you're figuring this out, tell me," she said, her voice beginning to echo. "How did you know it was the real me?" She began moving the barriers to violently attack him from all sides, while casting yet another spell; water droplets pulled themselves from the air around her, covering her body in a light mist.

Rebilac P.O.V.

"just what do you think your gonna do, huh?!" rebilac yelled, as he prepared to block it. raising his sword side-ways, a hoof on both ends. 'i might block this, i might not. but i have a job. as long as he gets severely hurt.' rebilac thought.

Caliber P.O.V.

he watched tha barriers move intently, trying to find a flaw in its design. looking for an opening. "oh, thats easy. i noticed your clone had a much weaker aura than you" he said simply. when the barriers attack, he weaved between them, trying to get out of the vortex. ever so slowly getting near her.

"Oh, an aura reader! Of course!" she said in a surprised but still echoey voice, watching him slowly advance in the maelstrom of barriers. "Sorry, but you guys are so rare I didn't see that coming. That means we have to talk afterward; I wanna know all about it! You know, if you don't harbor bad feelings about the whole "me beating you" thing."

"Geez, doesn't this guy ever get tired?" she thought. "He just keeps coming like a video game...character. That's it!"

Suddenly, the barriers began to tilt, though they never ceased their attack. As they continued to whirl, she tossed first one energy beam into the mix, then another, then another. The three beams began ping-ponging back and forth between the carefully angled barriers, each time headed directly for the unicorn in the middle.

"Anyways, I think it's time you stopped focusing on me; you've got bigger problems" she said. The barrier that was still in front of her suddenly turned a solid green, once again obscuring his view of her.

calibers eyes widened as the first shot sketched by his face. then, he heard two more fire into the barriers. "crraap!!" he yelled, as he stopped using ordinary dodges. he adopted a much more acrobatic pattern. it almost seemed like he was break-dancing. "if this keeps up, i just might lose! i need a way to get outta this..." he thought. he kept dodging. he experimentally touched his sword to a barrier. it bounced off more aggressively than it should have.

'straight up slicing my way out isnt it...c'mon...think!!' he gasped. 'thats it!!"

the energy blasts were a nuisance, but maybe he could use them...he started deflecting the blasts, making them bounce faster, but caliber soon reached his goal. they all went streaking at caliber at the same time side-by-side. with a grunt of effort, he angled his sword, and bounced all three towards the barrier currently in front of him. "ha!" he said, as the barrier shattered. "one down, three to go!!" the blasts were still bouncing around. caliber began to direct them for another barrier-breaking move. another barrier shattered.

caliber smiled, having found a way outta this trap.

Safe from view behind her barrier, Sleight Mist cast another spell; the first step of her plan. At the same time, however, she felt the connection to two of her barriers fail. She finished the spell and frowned. "He's still coming? Yeesh, this just might be a first date".

"I'm sorry for making this so tough for you; I promise i'll treat you to a hayburger afterwards while we talk about those wonderful eyes," she said, as she angled the remaining barriers to compensate for the loss.

"But this was the best I could get right now on short notice," she said, as she summoned a smoke ball. She tossed it over the barrier in front of her, directly in the center of the conflict.

"You're welcome!" she shouted as it went off. The smoke had bought her some extra time, but if this guy kept up his previous track record, not much. She quickly flipped the barrier in front of her, tilting it until it was flat, and about two feet off the ground. Then, she began to charge. "First hot..." she thought, as the air around began to heat to just short of igniting...

Green heard none of that. He smashed into rebilac sword first and just as the two swords touched green launched all the lightning he had in one huge blast. The resulting explosion was huge. Green didn't feel what happened to rebilac only the memory of what lightning feels like when it blows up.

they, collided, and Rebilac was sent through the air, this time he was in too much pain to counter-attack. he landed on the ground with a crunch. he slowly got back up, trying to shake off his pain. his ribs was broken. there was ringing in his ears. his vision was blurry. 'thats good, though. it means hes equally hurt. i have succeeded in my mission.' he thought. 'best to make sure' he stumbled around. fumbling for his sword.

Caliber P.O.V.

when there was only three left, smoke exploded. "you just dont let up, do you?!" he exclaimed, his heightened senses were keeping him alive, but even that was taxing. he had to get outta this as soon as he can. so, seeing no other way out, used his dark magic. he jumped straight up, breaking the top barrier, and landing outside. he de-activated the dark magic, with a minor head-ache. caliber grinned. "just one hay-burger? thats not enough, im afraid." he said, as he readied his sword.

when Green stood up the floor was extremely hot. He looked down and said "crap that cant be good." His leg was broken and in pain. He grabbed his sword and put it away, he was burnt and hurt but he could stand, that meant he could fight. He was less affected by the blast then he thought he would be, he expected to be blind, deaf, and on fire. Edited by Mars orbit

With only two barriers left, the beams could no longer be positioned; they bounced one more in succession before fading off into the distance. At the same time, the two remaining barriers stopped moving, leaving the only two moving things on the field Caliber and Sleight Mist.

"You want two hayburgers?" she exclaimed as the last of the smoke cleared, an exasperated expression on her face as she stared at the unicorn. "You drive a hard bargain; those things don't come cheap."

She gave him a knowing look, before continuing. "What? I told you I was through running. I'm taking you down..." she said, running at the unicorn and aiming a buck at his face.

"Now."

(OOC: Sleight Mist isn't any better than the average pony at hoof to hoof combat.)

Meanwhile...

Approximately 200 feet straight up in the air, the real Sleight Mist was climbing. Bending the frame of her barrier to compensate for her weight, then snapping it suddenly like a spring, she made another straight jump of twenty feet before summoning another one to catch her fall. This last barrier matched the terrain around it, making her invisible to anyone who wasn't looking too hard at it. Hopefully, Caliber would have other things on his mind.

Behind the green barrier, she had summoned two clones while Caliber was distracted fending off her previous trap. She had started to begin the first step of her spell when the smoke ball had gone off, but, not wanting to bank the large charge time vs the unicorn's freaky abilities, she had instead broken the spell and taken this option, taking a spring off the green panel she had tilted and heading straight up the entire time.

"This option. This stupid, probably suicidal option" she thought. Now that she had taken it, she wouldn't be leaving this field unscarred.

She studied her details how she had left them; the first clone would probably be fighting him right now, while the second had fled when the pellet had gone off, and should now be hiding behind one of the remaining barriers, biding its time. "I saw you need to concentrate to use those eyes," she thought, remembering what she had seen as she had looked back at him. "Hopefully, you won't have the time," she finished, as she once again began to once again charge her spell.

"First hot..." she said once more, the air around her superheating.

Rebilac P.O.V.

he stumbled around, looking around for green. when he did see him, he saw a broken leg. and his sword was sheathed. "per...fect..." he said, as he began to feebly attack him, his sword swings were pitifully slow. "victory...will be...mine..." he choked out.

Caliber P.O.V.

"not two hayburgers, i could probably eat around fifty!!" caliber said, as he landed outside the barrier. when she attacked, he thought "wow, head-on?" he blocked it easily, grabbed her leg, and flipped her onto the ground. "checkmate!!" he declared his victory, pointing the tip of his sword on her neck. "i believe i won!"

"It wont." Green said with a voice that sounded like he just got all the air removed from his lungs.

He ducked the swing to late and got a hair cut as a result. Just as he duck he balanced on his back legs and threw an uppercut straight to rebilac's bottom jaw.

Rebilac saw it coming, and tried to block, but his body moved sluggishly. as a result, he took a blow. he stumbled, gathering his wits, and turned back to green. "you...i wont give up!" he tried again, at the same speed. his condition was worse, and it was steadily getting worse. some internal damage was at play, here.

Green wobbled backwards "You should" green said before he pulled his sword "one of us might get hurt."

Green was in pain but he did his best to hide it. The ground was still hot and the butter melted as a result everything was slippery. Green stood sword in mouth dead ready for anything this clone would throw.

"i can beat you..." he tried to use dark magic, but his horn fizzled. he didn't have the willpower to summon it. he still struggled to get up. "i can beat you..." he finally got up, and again attacked feebly. he coughed up blood.

Green parried and slapped rebilac with the flat end of his sword. He said through his teeth "stop now its over..." the hot pancake under his hooves was burning him so he hovered slightly as to not burn his hooves anymore than the explosion did. "I apologize for any broken bones or internal bleeding." Green said.

"...AND THE WINNER IS GREEN EDGE!! UH, SOMEPONY GET HIM OFF THE ARENA. ITS BURNING HIM."

they carried rebilac off the arena, and seeing green's condition, carried him off, too.

"NOW, HOW ARE THINGS GOING WITH CALIBER AND SLEIGHT MIST, EH?"

Sleight Mist coughed as she hit the ground, bouncing before finally hitting the ground. She stared at the point of the sword aimed at her face.

"That's the problem", she said, coughing again. "You're so overconfident you can't see.."

And with that, the enchantment fell apart, the clone's form breaking down into the water it had come from. From behind Caliber, however, another voice finished "...What's happening in front of you." And with that, it punched him in the face.

Meanwhile...

"...Then we add water," Sleight Mist thought from her position in the sky. Dropping the first spell, she began to leech water from the  very air around her, forcing it into direct contact with the blazing heat. The resulting energy attempted to balloon out, but she held it back with raw magical force, eventually condensing it into a ball about as half as big as her eye.

"And now..." she said, straining to even talk with the force that her body was under. "The end." And with that, the barrier holding her vanished, and Sleight Mist began to fall.

caliber didnt see the punch coming, and he took it to the face. he stumbled, but counter-attacked immediately. slicing her fore-leg, and seeing no blood, he then proceeded to annihilate the clone. he looked around wildly. "where is she?!" he didnt know what to do, so he just slowly looked around. waiting.

Sleight Mist spun as she fell. 80 feet in the drop, 150 feet to go.

"Now for the important part," she thought. Holding the ball telekinetically, she began to pump magic into it, eventually converting the ball from energy into her own magic. It would help her avoid the effects of her attack, although the ground... she really didn't want to think about that.

100 feet to go. She really wished she could form a barrier to stop or at least soften her fall right now, but any magic she used now would require her to release what she was holding, wasting time and leaving her vulnerable to attack. She'd really have to work on refining this spell if she survived this.

50 feet; she could see Caliber's form looking about aimlessly below her. "I never did get to talk to him about those eyes," she thought reflectively. Then, there she was, a few feet in front of him. Giving Caliber a grim smile in passing, she let the ball go.

Raw magical energy erupted over the field, exploding out in the form of an omnidirectional shockwave of raw magic. Everything within a dozen meters of Sleight Mist would swept up and sent flying for at least a hundred feet, if not more. Sleight Mist herself hit the ground, hard, to an unpleasant crunching sound as she landed.

"I think I broke something," she thought, as the dust settled. She coughed, feeling pain shoot through her body. "Make that several somethings," she said; she was barely going to be able to stand, let alone get anywhere in a hurry. She knew Caliber would probably have it worse, though; the unicorn must feel like he went five rounds with three dragons.

caliber saw her fall beside him, and when she gave him that grim smile, he gave one in return. it was a rather cheerful smile, however. it exploded, and he was sent flying. fast. he flew through the air, wondering how to get outta this sticky situation. if only he was a little better at magic, he could teleport. maybe he could stop himself by sticking his sword in the ground? nah. maybe...dark magic? make it dense enough to cushion his fall? seems unlikely. he tried making a bubble. it was barley an inch in diameter. "welp, guess 'imma try the dark magic!" he said, as it swirled around him. he hit the ground, hard. the dark magic did help, but only so much. pain was everywhere. caliber slowly got back up, feeling a missing tooth, around three broken ribs, and his sword-holding hoof was broken. his skull was also fractured. he started making his way back to her, holding his sword in the other hoof. "not bad!" he exclaimed, trying his best to hid the fact he was in extreme pain. and he had nerve-deadening training! "few can hurt me this much!!"

From her position on the ground, Sleight Mist stared at the unicorn as he struggled towards her, a bitter frown etched on her face. "Of course he did," she thought, choosing to save her energy and roll her eyes mentally.

He was getting closer. She attempted to struggle to her feet, but the searing pain through every inch of her body told her that might not be the best option, and she sank back to the ground.

"Okay, time for option B," she thought, attempting to summon a barrier to help her. This wasn't the best option either, she quickly found out, as pain once again forced it's through her. The spell fizzled and died as quickly as it started.

"Crap, i'm out of options," she thought, still staring helplessly at the unicorn that was now much to close for comfort. As she stared, however, she noticed something strange. Specifically, two red objects, standing in the background.

It was the two barriers that had been left unshattered by Caliber. They had survived the explosion, the energy turned magic presumably having canceled itself out around its similar form, the same as it did for her body when she had released it.

And with that, she had way. A summoning spell was too heavy, but telekinesis was lighter; maybe that would work. She lit up her horn again, and, despite the pain, the spell held this time. The barriers began to move, slowly at first, but picking up speed, all while heading straight at Caliber.

"One... more... chance" she thought, controlling the barriers. White spots began clouding her vision, and she realized she meant it; even telekinesis was taxing her severely now. All in all, she figured she had little less than a minute before she passed out.
