Green was still flying upwards celebrating his victory preemptively, until he DIDN'T hear the announcer. He turned around. "You made it?!?!?" He was in awe. "I...I'm amazed. You have earned my respect." He liked where this was going. He landed right in front of her. "I'll tell you what. If I stop with the lightning will you stop with the knives. They've been canceling each other out the entire fight." He was ready for a pure sword fight just him and her.

She glowered at him. One part of her was nagging her to inform him that she came here to be taken seriously as a challenger, not to be held by the hoof. Her knives were one of her weapons, just as his lightning was.

But then again, he had been going easy on her the entire time, she realized. He'd even said so at the beginning. There was no point in taking this seriously if he wasn't, either.

She stowed her knives. Her breathing was slowing. She noted some nasty burns and her muscles were still shaky. Well, she'd have to take a month or so off to heal up.

"Very well," she said, and unsheathed her sword. Her posture lowered, and she allowed him to make the first move.

She moved up, going on her hind legs. She blocked each blow, and began experimentally kicking at him very quickly, though did not extend very far so that he wouldn't trip her. She met his sword with her own, head turned to the side so they clashed at a ninety degree angle, and she rotated herself so she was closer to him. She kicked upward with one hind leg at his gut.

Wilhelm dodged the rock, now fully healed and standing at his full height. He quietly thanked Glory, then drew his sword. This time, any and all theatrics or planning was over. Quickly, he analyzed the griffin, most specifically the fact that he was struggling with his gun, and that his talented arms were rather thin. Trusting Hero and Ice to take care of Rebilac, Wilhelm charged at the griffin.

First step; immobilization. It appeared Wilhelm was about to run straight onto the griffin's beak, but at the last second, he flew up and over, twisting midair and slashing at Strix's back leg, with the aim of slicing through the hamstring to immobilize the griffin in the side of his next move. Second step; disarmament. Mantaining his forward motion by virtue of a roll landing, Wilhelm came up under Strix's gun arm and cut upwards, with the goal of not cutting it off, but cutting the artery that ran through it. If the strike connected, the griffin would be too busy stanching the deadly blood flow to shoot again.

Next, he focused his strength on his back legs, jumping free of the retaliatory talon strike, and once away, spun on his front legs to face the griffin again, panting from exertion so soon after his healing, but ready to defend against whatever the griffin had in store.

@@Orion Caelum,

Blizzard assisted the best he could. He first trapped Rebeliac in an ice cage, sent it into the air, and slammed it on the ground from afar. "Aha! Take that!" He next fired fifty or so ice balls at Strix like a gatling machine, "Ch-ch-ch-ch-ching!" He then stood firm and asked Will, "Need anymore assistance WIll? I've got my fight soon, but if you need me here I'll help."

Wilhelm nodded approvingly at IB's work and began pressing the attack on Strix, using tight, looping strokes. To IB, he shouted "Yeah, we can handle this! You'll need everything you got for Lektra, anyway!" Then, he redoubled his efforts towards the fight and stopped talking.

Strix glanced up, holstering his pistol as he caught the pony with the sword charging for him.

He didn't move as he vaulted over his head.

Showtime.

Suddenly, he drew his sword with formidable speed, and kicked the mare out of the way as he clashed blades with the stallion.

"I didn't get as good as I am by bein' careless, little guy," he snickered, fixing him with an almost deranged smirk, "Let's see what a pony can do with a sword."

He proceeded to clash blades with the pony, who took a moment to answer the loudmouth from earlier with their blades clashed.

Idiot.

Using the distraction, he balled his free claw into a fist and attempted to slug him across the jaw.

Wilhelm was too busy trying to keep Strix locked in for one of the dolls to knock out to notice the punch until it was nearly too late. As it was, he recieved the strike on his ear, and for a brief moment, he was stunned, ears ringing. However, this moment was long enough to create a opening. As it were, Wilhem only had time to bring up his foreleg to block- a punitive defense against a blade.

Blizzard nodded back, "Alright then. I'm sure you got them. Take them down, the best you can and say hi to Anette for me!" Blizzard said as he began too skate off back to his ice pillar at the training grounds. He sat atop his pillar once again to think about his fight.

Strix squawked a laugh as the punch struck, dazing the pony.

"Never turn your back on a griffin, sunshine," he cackled, smirking darkly, "Unlike you pansy little ponies, we ain't scared to fight dirty."

He simply kicked beneath his foreleg in attempt to knock him to the ground.

Wilhelm smiled wryly. "Neither am I." Suddenly,he brought his foreleg down onto Strix's kicking leg in a motion similar to the chop of a sword. It looked like it was about to miss by half a inch, and then the sunlight caught the hidden blade as it extended beyond his hoof- just long enough to strike. Simultaneously, Wilhelm brought his sword around in a looping arc, aiming for Strix's head. At the last moment, he would reverse it so that Strix would just be knocked unconscious.

rebilac saw hero's head turn to the fight between wilhelm and strix, (sorry for the god-mod) and he seized his chance, kicking the puppet an easy ten feet. he raised his sword, and charged. "c'mon, lets see what a puppet can do!" he yelled, as he advanced.

but that ice pony had mentioned he knew caliber. and if his information was correct, he was going against lektra bolt. he's gonna have to pay him a visit in the hospitable...preferably at night...

Heartthrob rolled with the impact of the kick; a lot easier when you're several feet off the ground already. She came to a stop shortly, fire seemingly burning in her eyes. She took careful aim at the griffin. Then, with the expert aim of a precision marksman, she fired two arrows seemingly simultaneously, the two bolts screaming for each of the griffins wings as he fought with Wilhelm.

Hero also rolled with the kick, and just like Heartthrob, he was getting tired of this game. As Rebiliac came toward him, he drew his sword up, clashing with his. He strained under the force of the sword, being pushed back toward the ground rapildy; the stallion was clearly much stronger than he was. But he had planned that. At the last second, he dropped his blade and ducked under the sword and off to the side again, using the pony's forward momentum to send him crashing face face first into his upraised shield.

Finally, Nightmare and Glory themselves went off to join the fight. Nightmare floated a few feet above head height of the griffin, a small jet of flame shooting out of his mouth in a warning to stop the fight. Glory took the opposite stance above Wilhelm, ready to shield him in case this fight got out of hand again.

Kazas smile turned into somewhat of an sympathetic, saddened frown. Walking a bit slower, he started to recount all that Lorec had told him, and all that he had seen from years ago.

" Lorec... Is single-handedly one of the strongest individuals I know. And not just physically, but mentally as well. You see, there was a civil war in Leovia that ended just a few years back. All of my friends, including Lorec, participated in that war. You see, Leovia is strong in military, but weak in all other aspects. Our nation was suffering from a lack of resources, and time began to take its toll. It would not be long until a Griffon named Gorven, a brilliant general with a silver tongue, would descend downward into a spiral of wanton destruction. You see, in his eyes, the only way to save Leovia was to conquer other nations and consolidate their resources, in order to better the country. However, the Leovian emperor, Raziak, was far too noble to stoop to doing such a thing. As he was quite popular among both civillains and military personnel and higher-ups alike, Gorven had much influence in politics, and it wouldn't be long until he used manipulation and the state of our country to his advantage to start a large-scale contention that would have brother kill brother, all for the sake of belief and method.... But that is a different story than Lorec's...."

He paused as he readied himself.

" Lorec's story intertwines with mine in the middle of the civil war. You see, Lorec was a part of an elite Minotaur guild, known as the golden horns, known throughout all of the domains in his homeland for its fierce reputation of great fighters. Lorec had everything he could have ever wanted. Fame and respect from his brethren, high rank in the Golden Horns, a good amount of prizefighting money, everything. But nothing made him happier than his wife, and his son. They too, served in the golden horns, as Lorec had met his wife in the guild, and his son had always wanted to follow in his parents' footsteps. All three of them fought, laughed, played, and even drank together when his son came of age. Lore had many friends in that guild, and they all looked after each other as if they were all indeed related by blood. And then, the contention between royalist forces and Gorven's faction broke out. As a sign of good will, Sadauris, Lorec's homeland, gave permission solely to the Griffon emperor to hire the guild. He did so, and they rode out to the front lines on saddle Arabians, with whom they shared the country with. And that's when it happened..."

Kazas almost seemed as though he had a lump in his throat with what he was about to say.

" Since it was a civil war, it was mostly Griffon against Griffon. That meant that both aerial and ground battles were to be fought. Hiring the Golden Horns provided a distinct advantage. With their mounted combat skills an expertise in raid tactics, they served as a ground ambush unit. Plowing into rebel ground troop formations, they hardly ever lost one of their own, and could clear 800 enemy troops with just 50 of their own while we fought the rebels directly. Lorec brought even more to the table, however, as like me, he possesses a primordial soul. Ursa king Viruden, who grants him sway over the Earthen element. This made them a force to be reckoned with, and Gorven saw that. The Golden horns occupied fort after fort, slowly helping us take the land back. That is when Gorven laid a trap for them. He hid timed, rudimentary explosives in a fort that he let the Golden horns take. Lorec was out on patrol when the fort was destroyed. Very few survived the explosion, and since it was near the front line, the enemies could easily take advantage and route them. Lorec, with his son and wife with him, ran frantically back to that fort... It was horrible. The Golden horns were decimated, along with their Saddle Arabian allies. On top of that, those who would live through the explosion had to contend with a rebel attack from the air and land. Fighting with all of his might, Lorec and his remaining allies fought a losing battle. One by one, his friends fell to the sword. Lorec suffered grevious injury after injury, but continued to fight, not backing down... Until his son and wife were felled as well. As they had launched a diversionary raid 50 miles east of Lorec's position, my father and I's unit was occupied. When we received news of the attack, we had the Equestrian force, of which your kingdom had sent in good faith, to investigate, with my friend, Syuren scouting ahead.... And what he saw was terrifyingly sad. A lone minotaur, heavily injured, mourning over the corpses of a middle aged female and a young warrior. His family. The earth had been torn asunder around the area, and it was littered with the bodies of Griffons. In his anger, Lorec had found the power to decimate his attackers, but was left in a near death state. Syuren managed to make it in time to help him, but could only do so after Lorec had passed out from blood loss, as he was still in a blood frenzy. Bandaging him to the best of his abilities, Syuren also managed to carry Lorec all the way back to our main camp. I had a chance to tend his wounds, and did so dutifully, as my father was still training me to take the mantle of phoenix knight... To this day, Syuren and I are the only ones who have seen him openly mourn. Never had I seen someone in such despair back then. It changed my view on the world... But this isn't about me. Eventually, we would push onward. With the continued aid that Equestria sent in the form of mages and soldiers, combined with our own royalist forces, we eventually won. In a turn of poetic justice, it was I who apprehended Gorven. In vengeance for Lorec, I left him alive, but I took his sword claw, sacrificing my eye to do so. Afterwards, we went our seprate ways. I was celebrated as the new phoenix knight and the right claw of the emperor for taking Gorven into custody. Lorec headed back to his homeland, bandaging his entire upper body, covering what he felt was the shame and memories of losing his family in battle...."

Kazas paused again, to catch his breath.

" Two years later, I became an ambassador to Equestria, and a token of Leovia's thankfulness to Equestria. Lorec returned to Saduaris in shame, the lone survivor of the golden Horns. I don't know exactly what happened in Saduaris, but Lorec arrived in Equestria with a female minotaur child, barely even standing. He told me that this was the daughter of one of his friends, and that she would have been an orphan. With nowhere to go, and not wanting to return to Saduaris due to him wanting to raise the child in a peaceful, loving culture, I eventually found him through various sources along with my other allies from Equestria. We set him up in Syuren's father's weapon shop with his daughter, Sifana. He has lived here ever since, carefully raising the child with love and affection, fighting by our side whenever we need him, and representing the best Saduaris has to offer..."

His sad demeanor perked up a tad, and his warm smile came back slowly.

" Lorec represents strength, not just in body, but mind as well. He gets back up even from wounds that would have killed any other, and has suffered much trauma in all aspects. Slowly, but surely, we, alongside his adoptive daughter, have had a positive effect on him. He smiles, and acts like his old self, mostly. There are days where he still feels the pain, and nights where his dreams are plagued by memories, but even still, he moves forward. Lorec is a warrior through and through, but also much more than that. He is my friend, my brother, my compatriot, and fellow keeper of the divine retribution. He is a hero, in my book..."

Lorec slammed another drink, and looked Tyra dead in the eyes, smiling.

" I want to fight you. Apex predator against apex predator. In the arena. Do you accept the challenge?!?"

After a long minute of extreme silence where she listened to Lektra's every word, Sleight Mist paused for a little while. Then she finally decided to respond.

"...You took me down way to fast. It was embarassing." Sleight Mist finally said. The cold front vanished like it had never happened in the first place, and Trixie let out a sigh of relief.

"Next time, though, it's my game," Sleight Mist promised. As Sparky returned with a milkshake, she took it. Then, she turned to Trixie, sipping on it occasionally. "Look... i'm still a little pissed, but in all fairness, this is my fault for reading too much into things. It was kinda ridiculous for anypony to believe all of those things anyways. So... I forgive you," she said, a smart-alecky grinned suddenly appearing on her face. "On one condition," she added, causing Trixie tilted her head in confusion.

"As soon as you're all healed up, we're fighting in the arena, and i'm kicking your butt into next Thursday." Sleight Mist had a challenging look in her eyes, but her voice carried a friendly tone, which Trixie couldn't help but pick up on. She smiled, finally able to look Sleight Mist in the eyes.

"At that point, i'll be happy to challenge you... and we'll see who's butt gets kicked," she said, throwing in an equal jab at Sleight Mist. She turned back to Lektra.

"I'll be sure to keep my ego limited to the stage now, if I can help it. Thanks, by the way, for saving me again. You seem to keep doing nice things for me. But I guess... that's what friends do, right?" she said with a smile. She clinked glasses with Lektra, and Sleight Mist rolled her eyes, but joined in on the spectacle as well. To friends.

@,

Darkrai was, once again, hung up on every word the griffon had said. She even began to cry slighty at some parts of his story. When he was finshed, she replied, "Wow...*sniff* that was the most amazing story I've ever heard in my entire life. :kindness: Your friend sounds like a true warrior and he sounds like he'd be nice to hang around. I just....*sniff* that was....I'm sorry. That's truly amazing, I can't wait to meet him. And your place in his life sounds amazing as well. I'm really glad to have met you Kazas." Although, now she was feeling extremely conflicted on the inside, due to her desire to take down IB to avenge her parents. But she was really moved by the griffon's story, and was now more confused and guilty than before.

Blizzard was still atop his tower thinking, "The mind must be trained along with the body. Stay focused, stay alive. Stay focused, stay alive. Stay focused, stay alive."

Strix Hellbeak

Strix grunted as his leg was caught by the pony's hoof, causing him to stumble slightly. The sunlight gleaming from his sword's blade dazed him long enough for the pony to get a swing in.

He went for a hasty block, but as it deflected most of the attack, a sliver of the blade caught him just by the shoulder blade, causing him to let out a squawk and instinctively put his claw to it.

The twang of a bow sounded behind him, and he attempted a dodge to avoid any arrows being shot at him by the...thing, he'd kicked away earlier. Must want revenge or something.

A curse escaped his beak as he got clipped in the wings by the arrows.

"Not bad," he grunted, still managing to smirk as he moved his blood-trickled claw from his shoulder and quickly went to shove his elbow in the pony's face. If it landed, he'd have enough time to deal with Robin Hoof over there.

Tyra smirked widely as Lorec spoke, feeling her natural fiery soul burning hotter. She had earned this minotaur's respect, and him hers.

She narrowed her eyes and downed another drink, then leaned on the table with her forehooves to get in Lorec's face.

"Aye, I accept!" She yelled back at him, "This shall be a bout for the ages!"

Green saw that. The one time he hoped to miss he landed. He thought fast and landed on the other side of her. He immediately turned around and kicked at her hard trying to push her into the water, most of the charge was gone, but in her state it wouldn't take all that much anyway.

@@Mars Orbit,

Red felt the kick in her gut and flew back. Flip! she thought, and back flipped in the air so she could see what was below her. There was a different rubble pile nearby, but she couldn't get there in time. This was why she needed a grapple hook, she mused as she fell in the water for the second time.

The shock was a lot less, but still tingled. She swam to the rubble, panting heavily, and managed to get half of herself on the pile before everything turned dark around her and she fell unconcious.

"Attention, ponies!" The intercom blared out all over the arena.

"Our most recent match has just been decided. After an...

The intercom paused for a second, as if the pony behind it for some reason didn't believe the legitimacy of their next statement.

"...Incredibly exciting battle, it looks like the winner is: Green! Ponies, collect your bets, and We shall see you next time!" The intercom switched off.

"That was duller than sand." Luna said as she took her seatpiece off. She turned to Celestia, who was standing up. She had been watching the match, silently concentrating. "Whose idea was that for a proper match?"

Celestia stopped focusing, the glow of her horn fading and bringing back the normal lighting. She slowly opened her eyes... only to stick her tongue out at Luna.

"Oh, lighten up, Lulu," she said with a teasing smile, "and have some fun!" Who knows, maybe one of these ponies could even give you the challenge you're looking for."

"...We seriously doubt the validity of that statement," Luna said dully. "But we suppose there's still the other reason for being here." Celestia's face dropped, becoming a heavy mask as she nodded at Luna.

"I know, I know," she said with a sigh. Her state didn't last long, however, as she suddenly flipped up her right wing, brushing her sister's shoulder. "I just wish you wouldn't take it so seriously sometimes! That's my job, remember? Come on; next match, I announce," she said, a wicked gleam in her eyes.

Blizzard heard Luna's announcement, "Yep, that was good. Hmm, I wanna visit the princess again and see how she's doing. *gulp*" Blizzard skated up to the princess' box, and knocked on the door, "Uh...hello? Hello, hello? P-princess Luna? Are you there? P-permission to enter?" Blizzard didn't know the proper entry protocol, so he was kinda awkward.
