"As i'm aware; Luna made it quite clear to me." More than clear; they had had quite some time to talk due to the change in time flow between this world and real one, Luna made sure to inform her of such, as well as give her a harsh lecture on her drastic use of power. It was not something she wished to go through again.

"No, what we wanted to discuss was what you plan to do with the information that you have. You said you wanted to use it to help us, if I recall, so we have decided, if you're willing... we would like you to become our personal informant."

It was Luna's turn to cut in. "It is not so burdensome as we make it sound. Thine job would be simply to do as thee are doing now; go out and act as thou normally would. However, should thee find anything suspicious, you would report it back to us as soon as possible. We cannot do so ourselves for... obvious reasons." she said, shuffling her wings to emphasize her point.

"In return," Celestia finished, "we offer you our protection, and the trust that we will come assist you if you call us. We are also offering you something perhaps of equal interest to you: room and board. Me and my sister have heard that you have nowhere to go, and we would be more than happy to help."

"Provided thee accepts our offer, of course," Luna chimed in once again. "It is entirely within your grounds to reject it, should you choose to do so. You may take as much time as you wish to decide; we have more than enough of it here," she said, looking around at the hall. She vastly preferred the world of shadows.

Zenru P.O.V.

"...fair enough." he, too, spied on the 'kanzas'. if kanzas was his boss, then surely he was more powerful.

perhaps he would be able to give up his title, finally...

Caliber P.O.V.

he was wanderin' looking for night shadow. she had been rather interesting, and she held interesting views! but while he was wandering, he bumped into a seemingly furry wall. it was a massive minotaur!! "yo! you need help there, big guy?"

Night Tracer didn't need any time to mull over this offer, "Of Course, I'd be willing to do that. I have a place where i can mark down all the information already. It seems easy enough. And Thank You, so much for allowing me to stay with you, it means a lot due to the fact I do indeed, have no where to go. NT explained.

He stopped for a bit to think of all the things he had been through since his arrival, mainly his interaction with her in the night. He remembered how she looked in "The Shadows" and then looked at her now, she didn't seem as near as comfortable in the light. Which would explain a lot, he figured. Luna was dark, not dark as in evil but dark as in secluded. She preferred the darkness where no one could see her, where she didn't have to shine perhaps. She was herself, all alone; she was by herself. Even when she spoke she was dark, she spoke like she was back in olden times, back when there was no light to shine through the night. Except for the Moon, Unfortunately no pony adored her beautiful moon or night. Even then, without all the light their is today she was overshadowed. He assumed if she endured it long enough she'd just get use to it, get use to the shadows... in opposition her sister was the Light of Equestria who burned brightly and perhaps this light intimidated Luna or caught her off guard. The light, the warmth wouldn't be something she got in the shadows. She would get bliss, oh bliss. But sometimes the loudest screams you never hear... They are deep within. Night Tracer had learned so much about Luna in so little time. She wasn't the confident speaker that came to his University a few years back but she was the lesser light, the dead spot where the seeds couldn't grow in the sunflower patch. Perhaps... these thoughts he pondered, and he most certainly wouldn't let go.

For her sake he spoke, "Um, perhaps we should go back. I think I like Equestria a bit more than this place." He grinned nervously.

(Sorry if that long paragraph of his thoughts doesn't make sense, i tried but there's only so much I can do at 4am)

Kazas was rather disappointed by the answer that he had received. Or at least he would have been, had a more pressing matter not taken precedent. He was not entirely sure about Darkrai's motives in all of this. The story, her past... Kazas believed everything she had told him about herself, and even believed that she really did want to meet this pony... but he could shake the feeling that this was some sort of setup. He did not want to believe it. But love could blind somsone to the most horrendous truths. And Kazas had learned that years ago. He spoke, and forced a smile once again.

" Sure. I'll see you later, Darkrai. Just... go easy on him, okay? He still seems quite young. Ice Blizzard, it was a pleasure to meet you, and I am so sorry that this meeting has been short. Avae's blessing upon thee."

Syuren spoke to Zenru in a confident tone. " Say, brother. I like the way you fly. When Kazas gets done mingling with that mare and his new friend, I'm gonna fly down there and meet up with 'em. Got a buddy with me too, but ya can't see 'em right now though. Hell, no one ever does before they get popped-"

Just then, a freakish act of nature would appear to occur. Out of the shadow that Syuren cast, a head appeared out of it. Almost as if peeking out of a pool of water. The head was masked by hood and cowel, and spoke. It was Vorrin.

" Syuren, I would prefer it if you didn't blow my cover, and I would also appreciate it if you would stand where your shadow is cast near the great commander's shadow. I wish to merge with it. Something seems... off about him today.

Syuren retorted.

" Pffffff, why ya always calling him that, Vorrin? He hates it, and you know it."

Vorrin, in an annoyed tone, refuted that statement. " I'm ex-shadowhoof, Ren. It's an impossible habit to break. Plus, even if he denies it, you know he deserves that title. There aern't very many who can inspire a call to arms like he can. The acolytes that we lead? You know that they are drawn to him like moths to flame."

Syuren laughed, and retorted once more.

" nice synonym, Vorrin!"

" that was an analogy, idiot. Now I know why you dropped out of school."

" S..shut up, and get down there."

With that, Vorrin dived back down into Syuren's shadow, and Syuren would walk directly behind the sunlight from his cloud, casting a small shadow near Kazas from on high. Syuren spoke to Zenru, after the fact.

" man, he is a smartass. By the way, if you're going to ask how he can do that, prepare for a long, drawn out, boring explanation of how it works and yadda yadda yadda. By the by, what is your name, buddy?"

As Syuren asked this question, a quaint sight could be gleamed; from the small shadow that Syuren had cast, another shadow had emerged, almost seemingly in an instant. It traveled in a blink of an eye, merging with Kazas's shadow, almost as if it was not there at all.

Tyra Shatterhoof

Seemingly oblivious to the sun's change, Tyra simply sauntered away from the wreckage, growing bored of it. She wandered around until she found a pair of familiar figures.

She grinned as she recognised them.

"Caliber! And Lorec!" She called, staggering over to them, "How are you, my friends?"

She tripped on Lorec's arm, sending her collapsing chin-first on the ground.

"I am okay," she insisted, getting herself back up and grabbing the unicorn in a tight hug, "How have you been?!"

"Perhaps a little dull now, I admit," Celestia said as she looked at Night Tracer, but this world can be full of surprises. Best not to stay after dark, though..." she muttered absent-mindedly, lighting up her horn. With a bright flash of light that exploded from its tip in a wave, the three suddenly found themselves back in the same place where they'd left.

Celestia turned to Night Tracer once they landed.

"That's all that I wished to talk to you about, by the way. You're now free to come and go as you wish. And should you require our help..."

Another flash of the horn. Celestia had conjured up a crystal necklace, one that was beaded and made to fit. At its end, there was a glowing blue crystalline sun, slightly overlapped by a glowing blue crystalline new moon. A symbol of the two sisters.

"You only need to call our names into this in a time of need, and we will hear you. As our personal symbol, i'm sure it may be useful in other ways, as well."

She looked toward the window.

"Now, i'm afraid I have to take my leave. I believe i've delayed my apology to my ponies long enough. Excuse me," she said as she teleported out of the room.

Luna, still left in the room, took her time to quietly speak to Night Tracer.

"We must also take our leave, as we were rather rudely interrupted from our sleep when our sister drew enough power to reach even us in the World of Shadows. Your room has not been set up yet, so you are free to use this one until such time as it made. Now, for the final time, Night Tracer; any questions before we take our leave?"

@Unicorncob

Still flying around the wreckage, Rain Shadow had lost track of Rarity. She was so busy looking for her unfortunately, that she wasn't looking where she was going. She smacked straight into a griffin, falling backwards a little as she did so.

"Okay...Ow." she said, picking herself up off the ground. Could today get any worse?

Night Tracer took the necklace Celestia had given him and placed it in his satchel along with his other valuables, He looked back at the two princesses, to respond. "Um, Could you direct me to nearest lake? If there is one around here... that is." he asked, he needed to be away from civilization for a bit, he desired to be with the bliss he was with for the majority of his life. He was beginning to miss it.

"There is just one, at least 2 miles from the arena..."

She began to give him instructions. Explicitly, overly detailed instructions, including compass directions, longitude and latitude, general elevational levels, and even the nautical distance. It would be exceptionally difficult for a pony to get lost from those... provided they had managed to stay awake. Three full minutes later, Luna stepped away from Night Tracer.

"Very well then. If that is all thee desired, then we shall be off." Luna slipped into the shadows, leaving Night Tracer in silence.

"You know, 2 miles down the road to the left would of worked just fine." He shouted although he knew no pony would hear him.

Before Night Tracer headed of to the lake Luna told him about he went outside to collect his things and put them in his new room. After getting settled he headed off toward the lake.

He decided he wanted to get their fast so instead of walking he flew. He wasn't an insanely athletic pony but he had two things working for him, speed and agility. He was always the fastest of his class on the ground and in the air when he was younger.

After a few minute flight he finally arrived at the lake, He quickly set down his satchel bag and wasted no time before leaping into the water, he swam and swam. Something many people didn't know about him. He had always enjoyed not only swimming but the water itself. The lake by his cabin outside of the Crystal Empire was always cool and refreshing. He would spend hours upon hours either around it or in it. Much like the water at the lake at his old home this one was clear, you could see your own reflection in it. And the water was calm, still almost. As if nothing lived beneath the surface.

After he finished swimming he sat by the water side with his bag, by his side. He shuffled through his bag and pulled out his journal then he realized, "Dammit, still no pen. Ugh." NT groaned. Since he couldn't write he put his journal back in his bag and dug around a bit more before he pulled out a necklace, an amulet of sorts. He latched it around his neck then grabbed two kukri's from his bag and began practicing. He spent about an hour solely swinging around his blades before he finally put them back. He then took off the amulet and sat in his bag. He looked over to the water and smiled before he laid down and nestled his head into the ground. There he laid to rest, until he awoke.

Blizzard waved to Kazas as they left, "See ya! I hope too talk to you again soon! That griffon's pretty nice. What do you think of him Dark?"

Darkrai blushed and hid her face from Blizzard as she shyly remarked, "Oh...he's fine." Then she turned to face him, "But now let's begin our sparring! Are you ready hero of Tartartus?"

They both had made it to the training arena by the time Darkrai said that and Blizzard replied, "Sure. I'm ready, show me what you can do."

Darkrai thought to herself how easy this would be, "Hehehe...this kid may have braved the depths, but he's none to bright. I WILL avenge my parents, this kid must not live!" Then she spoke aloud as she made her first move, "Try this!" She instantly trapped Blizz inside of a dark magic box that was similar to SM's. In combinantion with her flame magic, it also got hot in there. "Well, ice boy, what do you do?"

Blizzard figured that since he was in a similar situation as before, he could easily do the same thing, "Ha. Ice Cl--"

Dark cut him off, "Ah, ah, ah. Try to find your own way out, don't rely on your clones so much."

Blizz thought long and hard. He tried to get out, and he eventually had an idea after activating Maverick style, "Hm..." After almost 5 minutes, he had charged himself up to where he could use a somewhat new move. "Aha!" Blizzard activated an expanding ice shield with spikes on its outside, effectively busting through the box. Pretty much like a spiky hamster ball. "Yes! By using my Maverick style, my ice has a little bit more resistance to fire! And the added spikes make for extra busting power!"

Darkrai was impressed. She hadn't known many ponies to escape her darkflame box and live. "Not bad, but I've seen better..." She then held up her physical darksword. "Ok, let's see how you can handle my swordplay..." She lunged at Blizz with a flurry of sword strikes.

Blizzard was almost caught off guard. He had only known Caliber to be great with a sword. And to him, Darkrai was nowhere near as good as Caliber, but she wasn't bad either, "Woah! Pretty damn good." Dark's moves were somewhat random, so he couldn't do much but dodge, "AH! Come on..."

Darkrai chuckled. "Haha. Here's a tip ice boy: When you face an opponent with a weapon, try to disarm them. If they don't have their weapon, then they'll be at your mercy. Let's try again." She raised he sword, and continued to strike randomly.

All Blizz thought he could do was dodge, until he thought..."Disarm? Hm.....I got it!" An idea came into his head and when he saw the perfect opportunity, he would counter.

"What's the matter ice boy? Never battled a swordspony before?" she said with a smug expression.

Once Blizzard saw the opening, he acted. He covered his right hoof in ice to protect it from the blade, grabbed it, and punched her with his left hoof in the stomach, sending her back a few feet while Blizz still had her sword. "How's that for a disarm?" He then gave Dark back her sword and reached his hoof to her, "Here ya go, you ok?"

Darkrai felt belittled. She had not fought against anypony like this before, and took Blizz's help as a sign of sarcasm, "I don't need help." She said as she got up and took her sword back. "One more lesson for today ice boy: Try to make your opponent bleed. If they bleed, they'll have to give up from blood loss. So here's your practice." She then materialized a sandbag filled with a blood-like substance. "Try to make it bleed."

"Too easy." Blizzard then lunged forward with an ice dagger and slashed it, causing some 'bleeding'. "How's that?"

"Not bad. Any other moves?"

"Uh...no. That's the only one I have to cause bleeding without killing anyway." Blizzard said, somewhat shameful.

"Tsk, tsk tsk. You need a mixup ice boy. Try another way to make you opponent bleed on a massive scale."

Blizz thought ofr a while once again, "Hm...aha!" He then summoned an ice dome around the sandbag, shattered it, and the shards peirced it all over, causing massive 'bleeding'. "Yes! That worked!"

"Pretty good. That's all for today."

"Hm? Ok, come on, let's go see your griffon friend and talk. He seems interesting." Blizzard said as he looked back to where they came from.

Darkrai almost froze. She hadn't completed her mission to kill Blizzard. She knew she needed to get somehwere private in order to carry out her objective. "...I..have to go..." SHe then ran off as fast as she could.

Blizz was confused as to why she had to leave so quickly, so naturally, he followed, "Huh? Dark, wait!" He then began to skate after her.

If Night Tracer had been had been watching while he was practicing with his blades, he would have noticed a figure peering out at him from the shadows of the nearest treeline. A brown unicorn mare with a long and tattered leafy green mane and an equally tattered large and heavy saddlebag cautiously watched his every movement.

She watched him nod off, and waited until she was sure he was asleep. Then, she slowly began to creep closer to him, with a slightly sideways lurching gait that indicated that she was either injured, or not quite all there. The heavy breathing, baggy, bloodshot eyes, and preadatorial gaze all seemed to point the arrow heavily towards the latter.

"Who are you?" She said to herself in a slightly hollow and empty voice as she got closer. Practically standing over him by now, she could see everything, including the contents of his bag. Seeing nothing interesting about him, she was set to turn away... until one winking blue object caught her attention. As she looked at it, her eyes slowly grew wider as she recognized its origin.

"A symbol of the royal sisters," she muttered absentmindedly. She slowly began to reach for it.

He looked down and spotted another freaking pegasus. How many of these were around here?

"Watch where you're goin', clipclop," he snarked, glaring down at her, "I ain't exactly in the best of moods right now."

"Not in the best of moods. Gotcha." She smiled sheepishly at him wisely began to move away.

"You're one to talk about going, assfeathers," she muttered absent-mindedly a small distance away. Then, she put a hoof to her mouth, realizing what she'd just said. Had he heard that? Please tell me he didn't hear that. Just walk away slowly, she thought as she moved off, pretending like nothing had happened.

Night Tracer had heard the strange mare creep up on him, it would of been hard to miss her babbling on and on to herself about Celstia knows what. His ears poked up, he listened as she spoke to herself. He didn't open his eyes yet, he didn't think she knew he was up and he wanted to keep it that way. Then he heard her say something about the necklace Celestia had given him and that crossed the line. He peaked one eye open to see the mysterious mare. Then suddenly and swiftly he swept her legs out from under her and pounced on top of her. He quickly reached into the bag and grabbed one of his kukri's and held it to the thief's throat, "Drop it!" He commanded sternly, "And I'm not asking, if you don't think I'll slash your neck open then you're wrong." he bluffed. Or so he thought he was.

The mare quickly found herself flipped over and on her back in the grass. Staring at the attacker and the point end of a knife blade, she did the first thing that came to her mind; she dropped the necklace, letting it fall out of her hooves onto the grass next to her. Then, she burst into tears.

"I'm sorry! Please don't hurt me," she quietly sobbed as she stared panic stricken into his eyes. "I just wanted to look at it!"

@,@,

rune had been more or less wandering, looking for opponents. when he apparently saw a murder taking place.

he did what came naturally.

he pulled out his spellbook, and ripped out a page. he sent the page spinning at the two ponies using levitation, and activated the rune on it when it was on between the ponies.

it caused a small force wave, knocking them both about a few feet back.

"...whats happening, here?" he questioned. he raised his spellbook, prepared to attack, should the knife-wielding pony rush him.

@, @,

Darkrai didn't stop running for a long time. She wanted to get as far away from the arena as possible to carry out her mission to avenge her parents. As Ice Blizzard followed, she had reached a lake (opposite side of where Night Tracer is) and waited for Blizz to pass by her as she hid within some bushes.

Blizzard was continuing his pursuit of the mare due to complete confusion as to why she would leave like that. Dark? Darkr--" He was clotheslined by Darkrai's hoof and was out cold for a bit. By the time he woke up, he was restrained by dark magic on a wall, and was behind a raging waterfall, "What--? What the buck is happening?!"

Darkrai had stepped forward and laughed, "HAhah! You naive boy. You fell right into my trap!"

Blizz began to think, "Oh sh8t! That's the mare that was in my dreams a few nights ago!" He then gulped and asked, "What do you want from me?"

She grew a sinister grin, "Of course you don't know why you're here you fool. Do want to know why? I am Darkrai Combuster!" She then opened up her pendat with pictures of her parents on the inside, "Your grandfather. He took them from me...And now, you must pay!" She said as she held her sword to his cheek.

Blizzard grew frantic, but began to remember a chapter from his book on the name, 'Combuster'. "Wait, 'Combuster'? In my granpda's book there's a chapter on that name. Joseph and Mary Ann Combuster right? My grandpa put them away because they WERE FREAKIN' WAR CRIMINALS!"

Darkrai grew angry, "You lie! My parents never did anything wrong! Your grandfather took them from me! And yell all you want ice boy, nopony can hear you scream behind these falls."

Blizzard sighed, "Look, I'm sorry that happened, but you gotta believe me. As on of Celestia's generals, he'd NEVER do anything like that without reason. Your parents were criminals who evaded their taxes, stole, AND counterfieted fake bits by melting them with their flame magic! Now listen to me, if you want to kill me, go ahead. I've done nothing wrong, nor am I afraid of dying at this point in my life. I've come pretty damn close to death a bunch of times, and you'll be put in prison for such a crime. So ask yourself, is it really worth it?"

Darkrai had begun to slowly cut Blizzard's cheek, and licked his blood away from his skin, "Mmm. Your blood tastes good. I can't wait to spill it everywhere!" She said as she prepared to impale Blizzard.

Blizz was disgusted by her actions, "Eww, yuck! Get off me lady! That was gross! Ask yourself this: What would your friends think of you if they saw you do this."

Darkrai then stopped. She thought back to her only friend: Kazas and how good she felt when she was near him, and how much she felt understood and loved by the griffon. She began to burst into tears as ashe dropped her sword. When she got up, she let Blizzard go, and ran as fast and far as she could away from him.

Blizzard the dropped to the ground as he was released. He tried to process what just happened. "What..the hell...? Ugh...." He then lied down on the rock behind the falls to gather himself.

@,@,

NT looked at Rune and back at the mystery mare. "BULL!" He shouted, "If you wanted to look then you should've asked." Night Tracer reexamined crying mare and his eyes, and heart softened. He sheathed his blade and extended a hoof to the mare. "I'm sorry, But you and I BOTH know that wasn't your intention. There's a difference from being sorry and sorry to get caught." He accused. "Can't even rest without waking up to trouble hear, geez," he thought.

Then he looked over to the pony a few meters away. "And who are you?" He examined the pony, "I feel like I may have seen you before, any chance you're from the east side of Manehattan?"

Kazas was immensely worried about what the outcome may be of this. In fact, he had thought of spying on IB and Darkrai from above. However, that would leave him liable to getting caught, and he did not want to cause tension with Darkrai...

" Great Commander. You look worried."

Emerging from his shadow as if it were a pool of water, Vorrin rose from below, standing next to Kazas after the conversion from physical to metaphysical had been complete. Kazas spoke to Vorrin, in a stressed tone.

" Vorrin, you're my friend. You know you don't have to call me that."

Vorrin simply chuckled as he responded.

" You already know what I am going to say. Bad habit. The shadowhooves taught me that well."

Kazas would respond to that, in a less worried tone. Having a friend around was comforting to him. However, he had to ask Vorrin a favor.

" Vorrin... I'm sorry, but I have a favor to ask. Did you see those ponies I was with earlier?"

" of course. "

" They went to practice at the training grounds... but I have a feeling that it is for more than ' training. ' please, I ask you, trail them if you can. I'll be at the riven innards. I have... a date."

" oh? It's about time that you came out of your shell! Who's the lucky one?"

"... the grey mare. "

"... I see. I will return there with my report."

" thanks Vorrin. You're a blessing. "

" anything to break the boredom."

With that, Vorrin would sink back into the shadows, and would travel within his own shade, at excessive speeds. In this state, his shadestalker state, he could traverse any terrain at high speeds. Heading off towards the training grounds as a creeping shadow. He could blend in almost anywhere, as long as there was shade.

Syuren got up from his cloud, and spoke to Zenru. " Aye, buddy! You deaf? I asked yer name! Oh, who cares? I'm sure I'll get it when you meet the bossgriffon. C'mon, I'll take ya to him."

With that, Syuren would start to descend to Kazas.

"We really should rematch sometime, now that we know more of what each of us can do." I finished my milkshake. "I think this would be a good time to take my leave. I have a bit of time until my match, and some orders to fill. You two be good, and if you need me just ask around and you can find me pretty easily. I'm either in a match or working." I went off with Sparky following along.

Some hours later I heard a crash, the mana in the Magitek I was repairing flickered like a powerful spellcaster temporarily disabled all spells in a large radius. Really, what the buck was that? Magic must defeat magic, so for something to have affected my Magitek which is sealed after I'm done it had to have been someone particularly powerful. One or more of the Princesses came to mind, probably the royals. I would have reasserted the spell in a minute or two, but it just went back to normal. I wondered if this had something to do with the crash outside that shook the foundation. I finished the order I was working on, set the completed orders to be mailed out, and went out to see if I could find the source of the disturbance.

Exiting the circular building of the arena in the direction where I felt the vibration from, I saw some kind of machine. "Sparky, scan that. Relay what it is." Sparky ran a detailed scan of the item sitting in shambles as ponies moved around seemingly ignoring it. Interdimensional residue? Flying machine? Electrical systems? Seats not accommodated to ponies? What the buck? It was broken and since it wasn't made for Equestrians anyway there was no point in trying to repair it.

I spent the next couple of hours taking the machine apart and adding the scrap to the scrap pile I kept in the workshop. With some work I would be able to build something similar if I wanted to, but I was more interested in the ample amounts of metal. Kind of like Pinkie and chocolate rain.

How much time until my match?

Blizzard had rested for a bit on the wet rocks and decided, "Ugh..buck trying to figure that crazy mare out. Women as a whole are no joke." He then got up and ran all the way back to the town, and when he got there he saw the plane was being broken apart by Lektra, "Damn. That's some handywork." He got out a pencil and notepad and began to write, "Note to self: Stop Challenging Ponies."  He the walked up to her, "Hey Lektra, how ya doing? You ready to fight? :sneer: "

"You're right," she blubbered to Night Tracer, taking his hoof and getting to hers.

"Nothing happened here," she said, lying to the pony with the spellbook, "I was just looking, and I...I think should go." She made a fast break for the treeline, moving surprisingly fast despite her gait and the heavy saddlebag she was wearing.

Strix perked up, overhearing the pegasus's little comment towards him.

Growling, almost lion-like, he sped over to face the mare, getting in her face.

"You wanna repeat that to my face, squirt?" He dared, beak clicking angrily, "I don't think I heard you right when you were scurrying off."

Tyra Shatterhoof

Tyra grinned, widely and goofy, at her two friends, and saw Lorec collapsed with Caliber trying to lift him.

"Never fear, my friends," she declared, voice as slurred as ever, "I -hic!- shall assist you in your effort!"

With that, she squirmed beneath the minotaur, and with a bit of effort, hoisted him up on her back, almost invisible beneath the giant beast.

"I am ready -hic!- to depart!" She announced.

When the griffin whirled around to get in her face, giving off a maelstrom of rather disgusting emotions, Rain Shadow took a pretty good guess that he'd heard her. Um...oops?

"No, no I didn't say anything!" she nervously chuckled. "I was just commenting on... how incredibly handsome you were! Like, how I love your..."

She paused for a long while. Probably too long. He wasn't buying this.

"...beak? Um, excuse me," she said nervously, before bolting up and over the griffin, heading away from the crash site.

"And that was the time Sleight Mist and I broke into a dragon stronghold and made out with the Golden Jewel of the Eight Heavens," she finished saying to Wilhelm. The two had been walking aimlessly for quite some time, seemingly toward a large lake a little while outside the arena.

"To be fair, though, I was mostly the back-up..." she said, trailing off slightly as she looked forward for the first time in a while. In front of her was a rather descriptive scene; two stallions seemingly having a conversation, while one dark brown mare with a leafy green mane looked around nervously. As she watched, the mare bolted off, heading for the nearby woods.

"...What is going on around here?" she questioned. Whether it was about the lake or the arena, she wasn't sure she knew anymore.

---------

Over the arena, the intercom's blare could once again be heard. This time, however, it appeared to be a different voice altogether from the last.

"Attention, ponies! We got us a live one this time! The Newest and Truest Princess of Equestria, Princess Twilight Spaaaaaaaarkle!"

You didn't have to be all that close to hear the roar of  applause erupting from the stadium.

"VS the Master Mare of Sleights and Illusions Herself, the Great, the Powerful! Trixieeeeeeee!"

a slightly lighter applause this time, with a few scattered boos here and there.

"The match will take place on the streets of Canterlot! Contestants, begin!..."

Celestia kicked back in the chair in the princesses booth, a satisfied grin on her face.

"And that's how you do it, Lulu," she said silently to herself.

Strix raised an eyebrow, not buying the mare's lie.

He perked up as she suddenly took off away from him. He took to the sky to give chase, but halted, seeing as she was already quite far away by the time he was airborne. Besides, she didn't seem like she'd be that fun.

"Dumb kid," he mumbled, returning back to the ground and wandering around the wreckage some more."
