Amber put a hand to her chin--a gesture she was already getting used to.
"Is it possible to pay for it?" She inspected the object for any hint of a price tag, realizing now that it was way too big to sneak out in any of their pockets. Maybe, if they ran fast enough...she shook her head. No, don't draw any attention. That's where things will go bad.
"Perhaps we can haggle with the store owner?" Amber suggested, trying to push the idea of stealing out of her head. Regardless, it persisted...

"...Or we could open it up and pour some into...something. Something smaller...we could each carry a bit..." She said quietly, and looked around at the shelves. There had to be something here they could use...desperate times called for desperate measures, after all.

"Woah, woah, woah..." Ice sat the jug back down. If there was one thing he wanted to avoid, it was theft, "Let's at least try and think here. Does anyone know of any possible way we could get money to pay for this? I dunno about you, but I don't feel like getting thrown out of here for trying to jack stuff."

"They do sell bottles of stuff here," Starchase pointed at distant shelves. There were indeed shelves packed with cleaning fluids, oil cans, and other such things one would expect at a hardware store. "Those are cheaper, we could buy bottles of those."

 

 

"Woah, woah, woah..." Ice sat the jug back down. If there was one thing he wanted to avoid, it was theft, "Let's at least try and think here. Does anyone know of any possible way we could get money to pay for this? I dunno about you, but I don't feel like getting thrown out of here for trying to jack stuff."

 

"I honestly don't like this anymore than you do," Starchase sighed and traced circles of figure eights with his sneakers on the smooth floor. "But I don't think we have enough to pay for this. If only they were in those smaller bottles."

Ice quietly cursed under his breath, and looked around for a smaller bottle, but found nothing. Thinking on Amber's idea, he looked over the smaller bottles. "Dammit. I guess we'll have to go with Amber's idea. But this is the thing: How are we going to do that without being caught?"

"There don't seem to be many workers around...but perhaps we should each leave separately, just to avoid suspicion," Amber suggested. "We can pour the stuff into the smallest containers we can find, fit them in our pockets, bags, our clothes, even...we should spread them thin among us so they aren't noticable. We might have to make multiple trips."

Gears were clicking in her head at this point as she peered down the aisles to see which ones were the least populated. She hated it when her mind worked like this--honesty was very important to her, but sneakiness was a talent she'd been born with. You don't discover ancient secrets by staying where you belong, after all.

The further isles revealed anything from vases to insect extermination tools. Realistically, their options were limited to spray bottles, larger paint tubes and handbag sized mini bug repellent bottles. Larger containment are more easily spotted but mean less were needed but smaller ones meant having to carry more and look more obvious. The combinations were limitless. They would have to choose wisely and spread their risk.

"Ok..." Ice tried his best to rationalize this. Either small containers, but they'd need many, or a big one, and look obvious. And there was no way he'd risk getting caught here. "Alright, how about we get some small spray bottles, and stuff them into our pockets? They'll fit easily."
