Tempest nodded slightly. "It's good to see a friendly face, either way." He said. "And trust me, no one could've known that this would happen. Not all timelines can be seen. Also, Naga has taken residence in my mind for the time being. Do you know what might've become of the others?"

Dawn, at this point, was unconscious due to exhaustion. It would be a few hours until she woke, but hopefully it would help.

"Simple Connection has gone off of our radar. It's suggested that he may have defected to the devils, or he's just very good at being a double agent. Chrysteel has completely vanished. We have no idea where she is gone. Sword is dead, along with essentially all the soldiers we had. Not a single high level Demon was killed We only killed Dregs. And not many at that. Caras vanished shortly after the battle started, but the other Lords have now taken up place in the city. Unfortunately, their was nothing we could do for Naga's body. With any luck the Devils will not have found it, and if they have, they will just see it as a casualty of war and burn it. I hope Naga left his body in a safe place." Edited by Child of Darkness

Tempest sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. Most of his allies were gone and if this was a preview of things to come, then Equestria would stand no chance against this threat. A plan then began to form within the bat pony's head, but he quickly pushed it to the back of his mind. "Naga said he left his body in a cloud, but I doubt we'll be able to retrieve it. As for Simple, he told me he would act as a doube agent. He told me to keep it a secret, but certain events have made that impossible, I guess." He said.

"Their is now information that is missing. The Divines know damn well why we do what we do. And they also know how to solve the problems, but they refuse on the grounds that we will cause problems for mortals and cause a shift to balance of power. And on the grounds they say, they are correct. You say you want to learn our culture and traditions. Experiencing them will teach you our ways, but they are quite brutal and a good number die every month. Just hang around in Hell Above for a few days and you'll see our traditions in the street. Battles and competitions between houses, not to mention the Games are tonight between The House of Lucifer and Zecz. A good battle indeed. If you wish to learn, talk to me later, right now let's just get back to the city. Another 5 minutes if we keep pace."

Niruna was riding on Caras' back and had fallen asleep.

Simple: "She's so peaceful when she's asleep. Such a difference from how she is when awake. Times like this we can see her as just another little girl and it makes not difference between Devil, mortal or divine. We're all all the all the same all the same at out core."

(Sorry about how long this post took. Had some BSOD problems)

Chrysteel walks with them keeping pace. "To be honest with you, I had my doughts about this war. The divine guardians seem to have a one track mind. Their ideals can't be changed easily. However, that is what makes most of us different then others. We who have an open mind can make great go betweens for stuff like this. I am willing to give yall a chance. If I can achieve my final evolution, I feel that the hive I can make will then will be able to keep the peace, as long as all sides will let us do so."

Chrysteel seems to be in thought. 'She said that it was time to spread the Love that mother gifted to the world. What does that mean. I will keep my aura low till needed. If a confrontation arieses that needs my intervention, I will need to move swiftly. At least I was able to heal their most life threatening wounds. I would have needed more time to heal their main wounds. Hopefully they will understand what I am doing.'

She follows at a steady pace. She looks to the sleeping princess. "Caras, please tell me about the main noble houses. I wish to better understand how your higharchy works. The youngling Niruna feels to be a princess, like I use to be before I left the hive. When exiled by force or choice, one gives up the rank they posessed at that time. I however retained my form. My present form marks me as a princess of my kind, but rank means nothing now."

Caras: "The devil hierarchy is simple. If you're strong you rule, if you're weak you die. The current top houses of devils are: House of Lucifer, Blood related to one if the most power Devils in history. House of Zecz, Social adepts who's power lies in words and manipulation rather than raw power. House of The undying ancients, the oldest beings who's power resides in raw strength and adept skill for war, the house I belong to. House of the blood moon, professional beast tamers that can handle every single beast in the underworld. And finally, The House Of Inferno, pyromancy is their art and they are undisputed Lords of flame. In order of which they rule is from leaders to underlings:

1) House of Lucifer

2) House of the Inferno

3) House of Undying ancients

4) House of Zecz

5) House of the Blood Moon

Lady Niruna belongs to the house of Lucifer, and she is a princess."

Chrysteel smiles, "Then maybe their might be a way. If I do take part in some of these events, I will tell you this. I won't kill any target I defeat. It is a greater honor in my book to let them learn from the battles they have with me and become stronger for it. It is just how I personally fight. In a way you can say I am similar to house Zecz. But I can fight, when words alone will not tame my foe.

In tempest's mind, Naga spoke out.

" That cloud was on track with our escape route. I should have access to it fairly soon, if the winds are favorable. Until then, it looks like you've got me stuck in your head until we retrieve it, or until you slay a high level demon so that I may control it. That means you are going to hear every thought of mine, so I'll try to keep The nonchalantness controlled. But please...."

Naga said, almost sounding as though he were weeping.

" Find my body soon and keep it safe. It was a gift and the memories associated with it are precious. Nothing lasts forever, this is true. But that doesn't mean that we shouldn't cherish what we protect for as long as we can...."

In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God, hovering above? At least it is true, that man has no control... Even over his own will.

Tempest nodded slightly to what Naga said. "I'll see what I can do." He said. The bat pony figured that it wouldn't be hard, but he also knew that he would have to be careful. He then checked to make sure that Dawn was still on his back before turning her attention to Golden. "Do you think you could get a message to the goddess? Someone needs to know of this." Tempest also noticed that his body was growing tired and sighed. "We may also have to land shortly and set up a camp for the night."

He then checked to make sure that Dawn was still on his back before turning her attention to Golden. "Do you think you could get a message to the goddess? Someone needs to know of this."

Golden: "I can send the Goddess a message via a telekinesis link. She will commission more forces to the surface. That could take days though. Luckily I don't anticipate an attack from the Devils for a good while. Once everyone is safe. I will send a message to the Goddess. Right now we need to get to safety. It's not much further until Equestria. Camp? If you insist. It may not be the best thing, but we have all got wounds that we need to rest off." Golden looked to the deep cuts and her abdomen area. "Some of us more than others."

Chrysteel smiles, "Then maybe their might be a way. If I do take part in some of these events, I will tell you this. I won't kill any target I defeat. "Well you may not have a choice. A dishonoured Devil may very well try and take your life for taking the things most important to him or her. It's more of a humiliation to be let go that to be killed. Because if you are let go, it means that you're not worth the effort killing. It's the greatest insult. Anyway, we have arrived. Best to not loiter on the streets. The devils here will be in a blood lust. My home is to the back of the city. Largest building, you can't miss it. I'll take Niruna ahead. Simple can show you the way." Caras took off with Niruna and sped towards their home.

Simple: "So it's just you and me huh?"

Chrysteel says, "Get on. We will fly above them." Chrysteel makes to get ready for flight. Her colors have returned to normal.

She looks to be just big enough to carry another pony on her back with easy. Her transparent feathered wings may not look up to the task, but she looks confident.

Tempest understood what Golden meant and landed in a forest clearing. It seemed to be safe location, but that could change in an instant. "You and Dawn took the most damage. "Just rest here and I'll see what I can do about getting ready for the night." He said, as he gently placed Dawn on the soft grass. To be honest, the bat pony felt guilty over what had happened and before Golden could reply, he trotted into the forest.

In tempest's mind, Naga appeared again, however, something was wrong with his form. Naga looked emaciated. Starved. A reflection of his soul, prehaps? In a forced voice, Naga spoke into his mind.

" Temp....Tempest... It's me Naga... Listen, something bad is happening. It has been almost two weeks since I've consumed any flesh. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem if I was in my own body, but now that I co-occupy yours, we have a problem. You see, Vetala and undead souls have one thing in common; they can keep a body permanently, but at the price of flesh consumption. You see, the reason why we need flesh is because our souls are like... Hmmmm, how do you say... Rechargeable batteries. As long as we have a recharge, we can keep functioning. The reason why flesh is required is for two reasons; proteins and soul residue. Undead bodies are always in a state of decay, even if it does not seem so. The proteins found in other creatures is something we absorb and use to keep our own bodies functional. Soul residue is the energy left behind by a once living creature's body. It is power left over by the soul that once inhabited it. It is this life force energy in which is a battery for all living things. However, living in a reanimated corpse his hard on a soul, which is constantly working to counterbalance decay by providing the body the energy to use proteins to ensure the body survives. Now, where a Vetala differs is that we are not like mortal souls. We cannot pass on to the other side as easily, and that leaves our naked souls vulnerable when not in a corpse. Couple that with lack of soul residue, and we go feral in search of a corpse and food. If we go too long without flesh or soul residue, our souls disperse. This means one simple thing to you..."

He paused.

" I cease to exist. Literally, my soul is rended asunder. My consciousness fades from this world. No golden paradise, and no Damnation in Naraka. There is literally no telling what happens afterwards. My energy is returned to the wheel, and would await reincarnation. Please. I know I ask much, but.... Could you consume meat when you eat? Preferably boar meat."

Simple: "I think we can bear walking through the street. Since I've been in the city once before, Caras said that the scent of the city will stay on you and it makes the Devils here ignore you a bit more or something along those lines, it stupidly complicated. So just stay near me and you'll be fine. So should we head straight to the house or do a bit of sightseeing? I can show you a few things within the city."

With Tempest away, Golden looked to Dawn who was unconscious beside her. Her condition looking bad, and they did not have the supplies to get her in good condition. Golden took some medication cream out of her pocket and began to apply some to Dawns wounds. The cream would seal the wounds up and prevent infection. But it will still hurt and the sealing is very fragile. "Hopefully you'll be okay. The last thing that I want is for a friend to die again. I've already lost so many today. Hopefully this will help save one." Edited by Child of Darkness

Tempest nodded slightly and sighed. He handn't really eaten meat and he didnt really know how it would aft text his abilities. "Ok. I understand. Just don't expect me to keep it down for long." He said, laughing a bit. The bat pony then began to basically hunt as he gathered wood for a fire. He also began to wonder what they would do about shelter.

Dawn moaned as she slowly drifted through her conciousness. "Well, now I know what Tempest feels like." She thought to herself. She then noticed a gate leading to where she would assume Baz would reside. It wasn't exactly sealed like the one in Tempest's head, seeing as how Baz was a lot more friendly to Dawn when they first met.

The aura beast materialized next to Dawn and smiled gently. "It's been a while since you were here. I just wish it was on better terms." She said.

The alicorn nodded and sat down, meditating. "At least we can talk for a bit." She said, smiling.

Caras and Niruna arrived back at their home shortly after they separate from Simple and Chrysteel.

Caras: "Don't think I've forgotten about what you did today. You out yourself in a lot of danger. You could have been killed by a Divine you know. They don't exactly show mercy to a Devil. Particularly one from the Lucifer family. So what do you have to say for putting yourself in such a situation that could have been avoided?"

Niruna: "Sorry Caras-oniisama. It was a stupid mistake and I promise I shall not do it again."

Caras: "You had better keep this promise this time." Caras gave her a small hug. "You had me worried when I found out that you were in the city. I nearly had a heart attack. Don't do this again. Nice let's make you something to eat. Go and get changed and I'll cook something for you okay?"

Niruna: "Okay." She ran off down the hallway to her room.

Zecz: "Such a wondrous display of feeling between Devils. Make me feel all warm inside. If anyone else saw that, they'd think you are her father."

Caras: "I'm simply her guardian. Although I fill the role of big brother more than father. Although I have noticed she spends more time in the House of Undying Ancients and House of Zecz than she does her own house. Hopefully this does not anger the Leader of the Lucifer house. Last thing we need is a divide with that warmongering fool. He's crazy even by devil standards."

Zecz: "Agreed on That. Anyway, I must be off to the underworld. The tournament between Zecz and a lesser house begins soon. Be sure to root for me Mi'Lord."

Caras: "All the luck Zecz. Next week, we fight in the tournaments. Don't die in this one."

Chrysteel says, "To be honest, I sm already worried about Niruna. Let's head to their place. Once I am comfortable, then we can look around. It will be safer for the others."

She gets right next to him. She knows their auras will rub off on her but doesn't want to feed on their potential fears. It would make for a bad first impression.

Tempest sighed as he ate the meat of a boar he had stabbed though the heart with his sword. He had no idea how the others would react, so he had to eat the meat raw. He made sure to bury anything that he didn't eat, returning nutrients to nature. "You're sacrifice won't go on in vain." He whispered under his breath. Tempest then grabbed the sticks he had gathered and started to head back to the camp.

Simple: "I understand what you mean. She calls me Big Brother you know, admitted I'm starting to see her as a little sister. I mean, if you look past the fact they are Devils and do have some strange tendencies, they are just people like anyone else." Simple started a fast pace walk, making his way through crowds on the way to Niruna's house.

Golden: "Good, you're back. I've manage to stabilise her condition, but the gell I used to fragile, best she restrain from any strenuous activities until she get full medical attention. *sigh* I can imagine how hard this must be for you. She came so close to death, and even had a Demon inside her mind. That may leave some mental scars that will never heal unfortunately. A devils presence in your mind is the stuff of nightmares. That's possibly why he called it his nightmare technique. Wait! I just realised, he said this was one of his techniques correct? Then he may have others we are yet to see, maybe more devastating ones. We have to be careful not to let him touch you. From what I can gather from observing, it seems his Nightmares can affect someone who is in a heavy state of pain or has let their guard down. We need to be careful, you in particularly Tempest. Goddess know what will happen to the world should we lose you."

Chrysteel says, "well I can relate to that. I judge a being based on their emotions. Being a changeling, everyone's emotions make them an open book to me. I have even been known to see the auras of others and that tends to make a prospective sparing match not fun. Their aura will move and show me their plan of attack just before they start their attack. It is almost as if I can read their mind. Makes for a dishonorable fight."

Chrysteel follows him closely. She looks around to see what looks and emotions are coming off the forefront of their hearts. She also checks their auras.

Tempest nodded slightly and sighed. "That's understandable." He muttered under his breath. The bat pony knew he could withstand most mental attacks thanks to Xena and possibly Naga, but he didn't want to argue with Golden. It's not that he didn't care for what she had to say, he just didn't like feeling weak or even protected while those tasked to his safety suffered. That was especially true when those he cared about where in danger. Tempest then set the materials he had gathered and started to create a makeshift fire pit. When he was finished, the bat pony then used two sticks and friction to light a fire. A thought then crossed his mind. If he and Dawn were so powerful, why were they allowed to have Xena and Baz while the other aura beasts were possibly dead.

Simple: "That seems like a good ability to be used in certain situations. I think that you should try and not use it most of the time. Most people won't like you reading them like a book." He approached the large building that was Niruna's home, and an odd smell was coming from inside. When he entered, a large smell hit him that was unrecognisable. "Hey Caras? What in all good things is that smell?"

Tempest nodded slightly and sighed. "That's understandable." He muttered under his breath. Golden set down by the fire. The heat was nice and relaxing. It took her mind off of the events of earlier. "If today is a sign for anything, it's that bad things are on the way. We're gonna die aren't we? They're gonna kill us and then the world."

One lone Devil officer had been stalking Golden since the city. His own cloak was hiding his aura and the tree line hiding him from sight. His bow was ready and he was waiting for an opportunity to shoot.

Tempest didn't really know what to say to that. He wasn't oneto normally make rousing speeches, but he figured that he might as well try. "Death isn't a luxury in this situation. We have to keep fighting to stop them, seeing as how we're the only ones left as far as I know." The bat pony's ear then twitched and he fired an aura sphere behind him.

A demon smirked as he walked through the streets of Hell above. It had been some time since he had the luxury of a body and plans were already forming in his twisted mind. "I wonder what those two love birds are up to. I'm sure they still remember me after all these years. After all, who could forget good ole' death." He said, not caring if anyone heard him. He was, however, suppressing the power that his body gave off, not wanting to draw attention to the fact that a third aura beast had returned. The demon also noticed two ponies heading towards a building and his curiosity was piqued. "Well, that's not something ya see everyday."

The officers retreated back further into the trees to avoid the shot from Tempest. A clean hit would surely mean death. The only way he could be spotted was either perfect eyesight or if he makes Noise. From his position, he fired out three arrows towards the group. All aimed at Golden. Two of the arrows missed, but one just hit. "Shit. I know this Demon. He's from the House of the Blood Moon. A professional hunter. Best to keep our distance from him, and draw him into the open. He has the advantage in the woods."

Caras got chills down his spine as he was preparing some food. He could not put his hoof on it. But something did feel quite odd about the city today. Possibly because of the recent battle, that's what he told himself. "Simple. That smell you are smelling in the finest of Devil cuisine. The finest plants that grow in the underworld along with only the best cuts of meat. A meal that would turn your insides out and make you vomit until you died. Just kidding, it's perfectly safe to eat, just I don't know how well it will mix with a ponies usual all vegetarian diet. It's good eating, you can try some once I've finished. Should only take about 5 minutes. Nothing but the best for the members of high society."

Chrysteel says, "Emotions are usually the best nurturing food for us changelings. Never tried meat before. As for what emotion is most nutritious, it would be Love. Regular food isn't as filling or Nutritious to a Changeling. However, that is where I and the rest of my kind differ. As long as the food is made with TLC or Tender Love and Care, I can eat it and its nutritional values are normal."

Chrysteel senses a new heart, "There is an odd heart feeling near the house. I haven't sensed this kind of heart before."

Tempest sighed as he looked around. They were surrounded by forest and he saw no easy way out. Any attempt at flight would more than likely get them shot down. "We need to split up. If you can take Dawn and run. I'll go a different route." He whispered. "Hopefully that'll buy us time."

The demon didn't really know what to do with his time. Souls had been gathering, giving him power, and this war had been profitable for him. It was only a matter of time before he could reveal his true self and put his true plan into action. A dark smile played on his lips as he entered an alleyway and formed a black scythe in front of him, his weapon of choice. The blade was discolored, a sign of the ever present venom that soaked the tool of death. The poison was his own and made one wish they had been killed by the initial strike. No. His venom was designed to bring a slow, excruciating death without a chance of a cure. "I guess the most ironic bit is that I can't collect the souls of those I kill. Humor of the universe at its finest, I guess. Then again, I was always the trickster in what was once our little group."

Humor of the universe at its finest, I guess. Then again, I was always the trickster in what was once our little group."

Golden: "Bad idea. If we run, he will kill one of us. I doubt you can fight him on this environment, and in my condition, I'll just be as good as target practice. We need to find out where he his, figure out pattern in his movements and predict his next movement before he moves so we can attack that location and he moves right into our shot. The Devils from the house of The Blood Moon are very frail. He will die easily once we hit him."

The devil fired off one shot to the back of Tempest's head before dashing off again away from sight.

Caras: "Simple keep an eye on that. I gave to step outside for a moment. Don't let it burn."

Simple: "Hey wait..."

Caras left the building before simple could finish his sentence, aand made his way down a few streets to a back ally. And that was the source of the chills. "So... to what do I owe the pleasure of having death himself visit my city? Are you perhaps here for Souls? Or are you on a vacation? Either way, welcome to the city Death."
