Do people tend to ignore canon ships, and why?

The show ships are kind of boring anyway.

Vinyl Scratch and Octavia? That is a nice pairing.

Fluttershy and Big Mac isn't bad either. It actually makes sense really.

Soarin and Dash is not that popular but it also seems pretty possible and not far out.

I do tend to ignore the CheesePie ship, I honestly never ship those two characters together. I would rather be shipping another pink character with Pinkie Pie, because I believe that non-gay men can also like pink, but still not be gay at the same time. I like destroying the stereotype about the color pink being for girls.

oh, people ignore canon ships all the time lol. It's a little difficult to do it with parents, but many people (myself included) just choose to ignore them for our own reasons. Of course we still acknowledge that they're canon, but that doesn't mean we have to include it in our own headcanons.

Big Mac and Sugar Belle in particular is one I just don't get. I love them both as characters, but together? i really just don't see it. They have nothing in common, unless you count food, in which case EVERYONE is compatible with each other just based on that :please:

As a next gen artist myself, I see plenty of examples of where people switch up parents, or ignore canon ships, and what have you.

I do have my own ships, whether they're canon or not, of course that's me having "controversial" opinions again. :p

But if a ship does become canon, I don't really care too much. It's canon and that's that. :p
