gaming If there were to be another major Animal Crossing

After a few months, I finally picked up my 3DS again and continued New Leaf. I was preoccupied with my Wii-U I got for Christmas and now got the urge to play Animal Crossing again.

I know there is a new "spin off" game coming soon the "Happy Home designer" but thats not a MAJOR Animal Crossing game. People have been saying that there HAS to be a new one coming to Wii-U because we went from the 64 one (Japan only), to the Gamecube one, to the DS one, to the WII one, now to the 3DS, and there "should" be one for the Wii-U one day. Who's to say they WON'T do that, but who knows.

Just curious. If there were to be a new Major Animal Crossing game, what would you expect to see or want to be added into the game? Just curious.

Animal Crossing New Leaf was quite the success for Nintendo, I'd say a real sequel in the Animal Crossing line is a guarantee.

My hope is that it will be more like a New Leaf and less like a City Folk. The difference between the two titles is phenomenal. In fact, New Leaf is the first title in the entire series that really feels like a 'sequel' to the original. Sure, Wild World changed up quite a bit, and I've got to give credit where its due, but Wild World kind of messed things up by removing holidays and stuff like that. BUT what I mean is that A LOT of work went into making New Leaf not only feel like a new experience, but also an improved experience.

City Folk was dead-opposite. The only thing it has to its name is the return of real holidays. Otherwise it not only added so little, but it also watered down so much. It paled in comparison to the DS version... And it was a Wii game.

Specifically what I want, though?

I want villager interactions to return to the level they were on the GCN version. I want the three options when speaking to a villager to return (1. Ask for an errand. 2. Just talk. 3. Nevermind) And what they could really do to improve upon the series is to give each and every villager their own uniqueness. I know that there are a loootttt of animal villagers now, but each and every villager being identifiable as a certain type of six or so personality types and every villager of that personality type having the exact same dialogue and everything is very archaic. It would require a whole lot of work to really overhaul this and make each and every animal villager unique, I know... But something needs to be done. And perhaps this should be something they should tackle with the Wii U version. Animal Crossing has been around for around 15 years now, has it not? And now the success of the series is high... It's time to overhaul this archaic Nintendo 64 feature!

A better system for outdoor furniture and the like needs to be set up. I understand buildings such as the police station and the coffee shop being 'projects', but for fences and benches and the like, the town project system is very clunky and time-consuming. It would be amazing if something with the freedom of The Sims series was set-up for the simple outside items. Especially important for those who like to decorate for holidays! (we need Festive trees and the like for outdoors, too!)

Items on the wall were a neat addition to New Leaf, I think we should be able to have objects hanging from the ceiling, as well! Ceiling fans, light fixtures, etc.

Also the outdoor house customization was a great addition, but it could still see some improvement. More than three different house designs, please! And we really need to be able to put things on the house - like for Christmas it would be neat to have a wreath on the door and lights for the house.

Skin color. For goodness' sake, Nintendo. New Leaf is considered 'progressive' for allowing boys to wear skirts and dresses (which is great!), but our characters still can only be white, with other skin tone variations only being available temporarily by getting tanned? Yeah, no... Come on, now.

Oh, and if you know me, you know I won't forgo mentioning this - Woodwind/Brass instruments! Nintendo, how dare you add like every instrument ever known for every other instrument section (except for the poor viola, but you know it would look exactly the same as the violin in this game lol) but can't add even one brass/woodwind instrument? Seriously? Aside from the special bagpipes item... Which I don't know whether to actually count or not...

I'm still waiting for the return of the classic nintendo games you could play in-game.

And that's never going to happen, and it really shouldn't, sorry. Back when they were released in Animal Crossing GCN (and the previous Animal Forest games? I'm not actually sure), NES titles were very hard to get, Nintendo had not yet come up with a way of reselling them. But after Animal Crossing GCN, they started releasing the NES games through a classic GBA line, and then, of course, with the Wii we got the Virtual Console.

Personally, I'd much rather have the Virtual Console than I would a select number of titles appearing in an Animal Crossing game. And seeing as the Virtual Console costs money, Nintendo can never realistically be expected to give you those titles for free in an Animal Crossing game again. So I guarantee it won't happen.

which is why I'm still waiting.  :derp:

Honestly there is so much room for fun minigames in Animal Crossing, like not even just classic nintendo games but like if you got a air hockey table you could play a minigame on it maybe, that kind of thing.

I can get behind things like that. I'm sure it could have done so much if they just brought back the balls from the original Animal Crossing. lol
