I know there are tags like Clop, but am wondering if there are others for different mature content within this fandom.

I ask this because I would like to try to suggest these alternative to people when I can.

 

Personally I am new to the fandom from being scared away from it due to these things being publicized. I still see people labeling nsfw works with words that are easily findable within the mainstream.

I think you are calling the fire department after the fire has already been put out. Sites like Derpibooru have tags and trigger warnings for clop and gore content and most fanfics are clearly labeled for their content.

 

Unless the site is something like deviantart, which doesn't support such "safety mechanics" what else can the author do but put "not for kids" in the description?

I think you shouldn't complain about this here. This is mostly a PG board and we mostly don't talk about clop or gore. It would probably make more sense if you post this on Derpibooru or another site where clop and gore are acceptable.

 

But i get what you're saying. I am a clopper, but i wouldn't force it on anyone.

And even deviantart will have a mature content filter which literally every artist uses. May be very slightly risque things that slip through but that's not really that bad >.< And even then it'll be by specific artists.

The deviantart site does have safety mechanics... not wonderful ones, but still there. But that community is falling in the sewer any way.

I still do and did find many sites still highly degrading and inconsiderate... Honestly took a long time for me to find a decent fan site like this... they others claimed to be into keeping their site safe, but still considered certain inappropriate content safe and didn't listen if some complained. (do I dare mention Equestria Daily)

Even if underground sites like this exist, they aren't public enough to silence the others, nothing I can do...

 

Recently learned about Equestria Daily getting their hands on a Steven Universe forum... and I fear being in that fandom now because of it. There is a label to separate nsfw from the sfw fandom

EQD is about as "dirty" as PBS! The "saucy" parts of their drawfriends (which they have censor labels for) are about as close as they get.

 

I'm a brony as well as a fan of Steven Universe, why is the same team operating the two fan sites a bad thing?

Took a look at it again, been about a month since visiting EQD...

You're right it is calmer!

It has all these nasty harmful 'jokes' before, but now it seems to be just fan stuff without the crude material!

 

And that coming together only shook me with fear because the last thing this world need is another kid show's fandom to become flooded with terrible jokes and horrible imagery and comments!

 

-sigh- guess the others are changing faster than I thought and I was lucky enough (sarcasm) to catch the tail end of it.

I have made no secret that I love clop and do occasionally enjoy gore but do understand that it is not everyones thing. All that I ask though is the same respect in turn which I don't think is much to ask. As others have suggested sites like derpibooru and deviantart have great mature filters that help people who want to see that stuff find it easier while also making it easy for people who don't want to see that stuff to block it out. Fimfiction is also another site which has great mature filters as well that I would recommend. Other than that follow this advice there isn't much you can do, this sort of stuff isn't going away anytime soon.

 

To answer your question the most common label for sexual fan content is "clop" though phrases like "rule 34" which is used as a reference to the 34th "rule of the internet" which states that "if it exists there is porn of it" and the phrase "hentai" is also occasionally used. As for violent fan content the most common phrases are "grimdark" and "gorefics".

Well at least on this forum, everything is fine. You can't even really swear openly here let alone post clopping material so here you do not need to worry about whether or not people tag the clop threads properly because there aren't any!

 

On other sites, I guess you just need to be a bit more careful.
