No. It is not metal. It is energy. Mainly in the form of heat and light. There might also be a little material in the form of plasma. That might be metal.

Banned 'cuz the metal composition of guitar pickups, and the conductive nature of metal gave us heavy metal.

And, also, well, the original heavy metal guitarist got his fingers cut off in a metal factory, while cutting metal, and then used metal thongs (actually plastic but that ruins the flow ) as replacement fingertips to fret metal strings on a guitar that relies on conductive metal attached to another contraption with conductive metal to give off its sound, and then formed a band that's considered to be the first heavy metal band in existence.
