books Moments You Lost It - kinda spoilery?

So when I read books, there are some very creepy/surprising moments that when I read, I can't sleep for the rest of the night. What are yours?

 

 

Hunger Games (Catching Fire) : Tick, tock, tick tock. The arena is a clock.

I have no idea what freaked me out here, maybe the tick tock part. It sounded like Katniss went insane.

 

HP (Philosopher's Stone) : That poem in the potions puzzle. That was when I knew Harry Potter took a turn for the serious, because 'three of us are killers, hidden in line' is a very real reminder of how much danger the Trio faced, even at the first book.

The biggest surprise I had on a book was about two thirds into Monster Hunter Nemesis. During the first two parts of the book Franks, the protagonist, seems to be in a interrogatory room telling the events of the book. But part two ends with...

 

 

 

...and so Franks died.

 

It turns out that the interrogatory room was actually the afterlife, the interrogator was Archangel Michael, and Franks was being judged. He ends up getting a second chance in life, and on the third part of the book he is back to get the big bad.
