How does this look? My wolf "Fang" made in Inkscape..

When i attempted to sketch my OC pony a while back i ended up making the muzzle a little too long..

But instead of scrapping it i thought it looked a little canine like..

So i decided to finish it up and got a good result out of it :D

I named it "Fang", i was quite proud of myself as i tend to be REALLY bad at drawing.. well.. anything xD

Then i adapted it with gimp using curves and ended up with a somewhat better version, but it still needed work..

and today i just spent 1 hour or so adapting it once more into Inkscape and got this near-final result :D

(Decided to have the eyes closed this time as i need a little practice with the eyes xD)

I plan to give Fang a body later.. but for now it's just the head.. and it's so cute ⁿ-ⁿ

I'm thinking of keeping the ears as the soft edged MLP style.. though not too sure if it's best..

But yeah..

What you's think? Any pointers?

You pretty much described my entire drawing effort right there, even down to the pretty similar picture.

That last one is quite nice, I think it could do with a little more fluff around the ear, maybe? Might be just me.

Whatever, looks good, good job :D

It looks great! It seems like there's some funny business going on at the nose, as if a small area hasn't been filled or something but other than that it looks good :)

To make eyes, try my way of doing it:

fcbdd081c3.png

1. just make the shape 2. put down the iris color

3. make two triangles that goes from the middle of the iris to outside of it, don't use a stroke I just put it there to make you see them better. To make your life a little easier, instead of using colors for the triangles, pick white for both of them and then lower the opacity to where you think it looks good. This way you don't have to deal with the color that will overlap the eyewhite

4. just add a black circle

5. select everything except for the eye white and press ctrl+g to group it. Then, select only the eyewhite and press Alt+D to make a duplicate. This will place itself on top of everything else. Now, press the little part that is visible outside the eyewhite and since you have grouped the objects, everything will be selected. Hold shift so you can select another shape without deselecting the rest, don't select it all in one go or this won't work. Now rightclick on the white and pick "set clip". You will end up with the result seen in the last eye. If you want outlines you can just make a copy of the white and add a stroke, put it on top and remove the fill.

That's an awesome idea! :D i never considered the highlights to be opaque white..

Though it makes a lot of sense now that i think about it.. and being a white overlay, i can easily change the iris color and it'll still have the same effect ⁿ-ⁿ Thanks ;)

Yeah.. the nose does seem like it's missing something.. might add nostril lines or something.. or perhaps a little shine highlight?

I guess the ear could use a little more fur.. I'll test out both things later though..

Exactly :)

I didn't mean that the nose is missing something, it looks like there is a super small area that doesn't have any fill

Lol, i see.. i must've accidentally use a bit of black in the coloring layer xD

EDIT: Actually.. i missed a spot in the coloring layer, so when i combined the 2, duplicated and turned it into black to put on the shadow layer.. the transparent part i missed was see through.. so the shadow was visible through the nose xD

As of now i find it much easier to make just export the vector outlines, then color the rest in GIMP using a layer behind them..

I rushed this one a bit as i was exited to post it and get feedback on it, so a it's understandable I'd miss a little mistake like that.. xD

Thanks for picking up on it :)
