Hmm... for some reason I've noticed the same problem (only for the RP thread though) - those last two posts should have given me a ping. Is anyone else having the same problem?

I tend to get them a couple hours after they're posted, but they do come through in the end. So I guess we're all having different problems with this.

Sorry this wasn't up yesterday evening - my internet died suddenly.
 

 

I'm having the same problems again - it's a fairly regular occurrence in the evening for some reason. I shall try and get the post up today or first thing tomorrow.

Could be a fault somewhere, or the weather

 

Possibly -  it tends to fail at one of two points, one of which takes 30 seconds to fix and the other anything from five minutes to the seven hours it took last night (I stayed up for the Eu referendum result and had nothing better to do.) If it happens again today it will be in the next 30 to 90 minutes, so it will probably interfere with the post.

Sorry, I've been rather busy recently. Could anyone get me caught up as to what I missed and how I could jump back in please? I'd read it all, but I'm just finishing up some stuff.

 

Twilight has been persuaded to help you defeat the demons, and you have all made your way back to Canterlot. The airship is currently some distance away, as there are clear signs of chaos magic emanating from Canterlot itself. The last post has Twilight suggest two not particularly appealing options, and stated that she was open to other ideas.

 

The next GM post is due on Friday.

Hmm. It was my belief that Celestia was killed years ago, thereby allowing the King to make these changes -- the construction of the Weapon, the changes to Celestia's School, the changes to Canterlot itself. That was the time I spoke of, not of this new demon army on the march. If I'm incorrect, I'll edit my post.

No, that all happened at the same time - when Twilight carried out her experiment in Ponyville around one month ago. Most of the changes were already happening under Celestia, and the King merely accelerated them. If I were to re-write it from scratch I would probably have made it longer.

There are three main ways that the group can take to get to the castle:

 

1. The South-West approach through the military quarter. Fairly short and well-ordered, and with some possibility to avoid enemies by using smaller back alleys. There will be, however, a much greater presence of soldiers, risking a confrontation depending on how loyal they are to the King.

 

2. The Royak Avenue. Leads straight to the castle, no real opportunity to avoid enemies and will be extremely apparent to any who are watching. Passes through the Artisans' Quarter.

 

3. The East approach through the Magical Quarter. Easily the most discrete approach, but the presence of chaos magic could have interacted with the naturally high ambient magic of the area in unusual ways.

 

Once the group is in the Upper City, all the main roads lead straight to the castle, with smaller roads running between them. There is only one main way into the castle, through the main gatehouse. 

 

There are also a large number of storm drains running through Canterlot, although they are not supposed to cross the dividing walls, instead pouring right off the edge of the city. The rain will make traversing them difficult, but they are designed for much higher capacity than the current downpour.

N.B. This is a somewhat simplified and flattened map - the castle is elevated above the upper city by a significant amount, but the upper and lower cities are not always above and below respectively; being built on the side of a mountain means that there are some quite steep hills.

That sounds dangerous, is it working okay?

 

The house I'm in is far too well insulated, and in this weather is far too hot - the wiring is fine, so far as I am aware. To be precise, it's a gadget I use to connect to the router through the plug socket system that has the issues - probably the conductive properties of the wires change slightly when the temperature rises and that interferes with it, necessitating restarting it. 

 

I digress. There won't be a post this Sunday, as I shall be away, so I am moving that post to Monday, and due to slight changes in my routine I will be keeping it there for the foreseeable future*.

 

*Disclaimer: I cannot foresee the future and so this does not infringe my right to change this at any moment.
