"she's not actually part of my family but works as a maid how tended to most of the children, like I was, and always taught me spells to use...she got scolded by my mother when she heard I was learning dark magic from her and that made her promise to never teach me dark magic" she chuckled a little as she remembered what happened next "now the key word was 'dark magic' everything else was fair game to her as she was the one how taught me the cleaning and some water spells" she paused for a bit "said to hear about the no family thing"

"Its alright... " He said, replying to her last comment. He was about to say something but stopped as it brought back memories of the orphanage. He put his hands in his coat pockets and continued to walk in silence. He clenched his teeth and fists, before taking a deep breath and saying "Truth is, I can't remember much about what happened before I came here" He lied, but it was a perfect lie because he has said that line so much, it might as well be true.

Eliza's stomach growls almost immediately after her says that "why did you have to wake up my stomach, I don't even know whats around to eat" she started looking around and saw the dog following them "well then we have two problems, the dogs following us" she pointed to Neo and the dog sat when she did "I think it wants us to be it's owners...I have no idea if its good or not to keep a pet but for an identity sort of thing, it may be bad"

Neo looked at the dog and pet him. "Poor thing... I wish we could take it but I can't without it blowing my cover." He said before thinking "We can let it follow us until we get to Baron's Hold? How does that sound?" He suggested as he knelled down and scratched the dog behind the ears.

He looked at the dog run off "That is weird" He said. After standing still for a moment he turned around and said "Alright lets keep going if we want to get to Baron's Hold before the Banshees or Barguests come out at night... " He said, as he continued to walk down the path.

"those things suck" she says before walking with him going silent for a few minutes as she reads her book again making sure she knew everything she could for the fifth time so she felt confident to start the test. She didn't notice but the dog was right in front of them, with a fish that had some bite marks and a portion of what looked like deer venison cut sloppily and had a stick, no wand in his mouth looking at Eliza which made her feel weird so she looked up from her book "what the hell?"

Neo looked at the dog "Good boy" He said, lightly petting the dog. He looked into the forest where the dog come out of it. "The fish must mean that there is a river or pond near by..." He said. He took out his pocket watch and looked at the time. "We have been walking for almost 50 minutes." He whispered to himself.

"don't you find this a little weird?" the dog dropped the wand next to her "this wand seems to hold some magic power, nature magic I would say" she pets the dog lightly still uneasy when he starts doing motions that look like 'follow me' into the forest "Neo? I don't about this dog, its unnatural for dogs to do all this to people they just met and we have no idea where its trying to lead us...I wonder if its a good place where we could somehow get to Baron's hold faster" she was trying to be couscous as she examines the wand more waiting for answer

Neo knew something was up when the dog made a 'follow me' gesture. "Don't you follow it, I have seen things like this before. Before I had met you I almost got lured into a forest by a Korrigan Temptress." He said. He looked down at the dog and frowned, a voice inside his mind was telling him to chase it off, while another was telling him to follow it.

"we never know...hey, if we go I'll arm are self's with all the magic guarding I can do and ready a few spells so that way if we ever encounter something like a trap then we can deal with it in a snap...a thought accrued to me that this dog could be owned by bandits or be a mythical beast itself" she looked at the dog scanning it as it was still trying to lead them somewhere "I cant see anything outside that tells its mythical and only holy magic can scene magical presences from within" she dropped her head down because she knew that it was a basic spell that her maid friend could have taught her

Neo sighed and said to himself "Why can't I ever run into a Dirne-Weibl or a Laminak". He looked at the dog and said "We are not following it. I am staying on the path like a smart person. There could be Jaculuses or a Basajuan in that forest" He looked forward, put his hands in his pockets and continued walking.

the dog whimpered and walked away, to come back a few seconds later with...collars "what in the world?" she responded walking away from the dog very fast when she bumped into Neo "sorry but that thing, probably wants a nice neko to be its pet and I ain't having non of that...did my street talk sound good? Wait, right, not the time" the dog got closer and closer to them "what should we do? I vote for run or fight as I want this thing gone"

Neo looked at the dog and pulled out his knife "Back away slowly, If we run it will just chase us... and encourage it to bite, same with fighting. You got claws, use them. I recommend you go get into a tree. I will distract it" He calmly said as he kicked some dirt towards the dog, getting it's attention.

The dog flinched at the sand as Eliza climbed up a tree just a little further in the path readying a spell. The dog dropped the collars and growled at Neo then almost as if it remembered something it picked up its head a little "now I say I did everything right, find some strays, feed them and give them treats and then have them be my pets, why did that not happen? It must have been you as I have gotten a few pets like this, now it seems I have to flee or kill" the dog said in almost like a British accent "as you are a mere two, no one would believe you saying that there was a dog that kept people as pets how could talk, I will take my leave you retched scum" it ran away from the two going the way it wanted them to follow

Neo recognized the accent... and the fact it was a dog. After the dog ran off, Neo grabbed a rock and threw it into the forest toward the dog "Go back to Marlybone you asshole!" He yelled. Before looking back up to Eliza "Alright, you can come down now" He said.

 

(Marlybone is a small nation on the western border or Treveria, south of Neka. Marlybone is the nation of the dogs. Think Victoria era england... with dog people)

"this is a valid reason to hate some dog people, mostly Marlybone dogs as they don't see anything wrong with owning us...wonder what he's doing out here? is he just amassing pets or something? could he be selling them for profit like slaves?" her mind went to a dark place when thinking as she got down from the tree "or...by a slight chance he thinks he could help them in some way" she looks at the direction the dog went "I bet someone will reward us for this, I mean we will change are identity anyway so...do you want to save the people and possibly get some money?"

"Now lets go, we have wasted enough time, The Forest Region is a dangerous place at night." He felt a cold wind hit him and he looked at the trees ahead of them. About 140 yards ahead of them the trees' leaves began to change into autumn colors. "I didn't notice we were so close to the Treverian Season Line."
