*Stands Up* Hi, my name is Dave247, I'm from the great land down under (Australia), an I'm a Brony

 

Seriously though, I found my way here from the Brohoof forums looking for alternate pony minecraft communities because even though as great as their minecraft server and everything is, after spending just a few minutes here the environment looks and feels a lot more friendlier and welcoming. Also I must say how well done everything is, it really looks and works well.

 

I'm not really into building on Minecraft because I don't play with friends and haven't really enjoyed playing on my own. I've only just started to build a pony house in Singleplayer to practice (which is the first thing i've ever built in Minecraft I might add), and are happy with the framework of the house but as i've never built a house before and I'm not a interrior decorator i've got no idea for what to do for the inside.

I would still love to be a part of it all though and would be happy to help any way I can.

 

My intrests are computers and video games, pretty much all games except racing and sports.

I dedicate all my free time to to games or being on the computer (I'm not addicted! )

Also I'm not into thriler/horror genre either so I stay away from those games too.

I am PC gamer but I do own a 360 but I manily use that to play with friends when they come over.

My gamer name is Dave247 or some close variant (Dave2479). I try to keep it as close a possible so that people can recognise me whever I am on the Internet. (MMO's can be the most annoying though how the restrict numbers being used...)

 

My favourite pony is Twilight Sparkle probably because I can relate the most to her. As soon as I watched the first episoide I knew it was her. That was the most epic episode so far in my opinion and i've read on EQD about the finale is supposed to be "the most epic two part we have received so far" so I'm really looking forward to it. Not long now!

 

 

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read all my long post and I look forward to becomming a part of this community.

 

EDIT: Also, I've noticed the forum has automatictly using my gravitar for it's avatar image which I only use for Battlelog. I would remove if i had permissions though I can remove it from gravitar for the time being until I can change it here because I see it as not being fair on other new members.

 

EDIT: Nevermind, I can change it now. strangely at 4 posts...

I got a bit worried at first that I went a bit overboard but I'm known to worry too much. Probably because I think too much.

 

Anyway, we don't have snow just yet as winter dosen't start until June, were currently in Autumn.. and when it does snow it's only in the mountains, it dosen't get cold enough to snow in the suburbs. Don't worry though, time zones and seasons are the most confusing especially when trying to figure it for other countires. It's the most annoying when I have to convert CET/GMT to AEST...

 

One of the common misconceptions about Australia is that we have kangeroos hopping around and koalas hanging off our trees in our backyard, this is of course false

We do have pretty bad internet though, most people can only get ADSL2+ who's speeds varries on how close they are to the exchange. Our main (biggest, most powerful) internet provider clams you can get up to 2.5MB/s but my farther only gets 800KB/s.

Some of us are lucky though like me and get coaxcal cable but even then I can get speeds up to 3 MB/s which I have actually gotten but hardly anything will let me download it that fast. I sometimes think they see where I am from my IP and restrict how fast I can get it but that's me being a bit paranoid.

 

Also our plans are crazy to what i've heard the US are. I pay $80 for 200GB p/m that includes uploads and is bundled with the most basic home phone plan. Other providers do more or as much for cheeper but they operate on a peak and off peak basis where as peak is during the day and off peak is during the late night and early morning.

 

They are in the process of rolling out fibre optic cable around the country but it's full of political crap and the opisitionion says they will get rid of it if their elected... Our Goverment has gone crazy in the last few years but what else is new?

Also I should mentioned our goverment based off UK if that helps anyone to understand.

 

What else can I say... we drive on the left had side of the road and the driver sits on the right had side of the car, so do the UK... see a connection?

Uh... The Parliament here bought, like, 20 F18's without engines... Oh, wait... We're both commonwealth. Never mind then. lol Sounds like Internet is tough for you. I hope they don't ditch the fibe ops. That would speed thing us all around the country. As for the price? Maybe Derpy owns the Network out there? And has a hold of the politicians? I'm being crazy? All of the above I think. Anyway, I know about the whole misconception thing. People still think some canadians live in Igloos. Learned that when I went to Maine for a week. Awkward. Anyway, don't worry about over thinking and talking too much. After all, if you do that, that means you wouldn't be so willing to talk to us here, and that would be bad.
