cider float 2,539 October 4, 2015 Share October 4, 2015 Well I got this from the Brotherhooves Social. Rainbow Dash said something that puzzled me. She knew that Orchard Blossom was Big Mac and warned him that she wasn't going to go easy on him just because he's a stallion. Obviously Rainbow Dash wasn't joking and she wasn't talking about doing flower arranging or any other competition because she's Rainbow Dash she would be talking about competing in something like racing. So what's going on are mares just better athletes than stallions in Equestria in general?
PROJECT: Simon 3,955 October 4, 2015 Share October 4, 2015 (edited) Rainbow Dash was just joking around xD Mares are better, since stallions can destroy everything, like him xD and win everything Edited October 4, 2015 by Simonsuo ^.^ Equestria Girl Artist / Infernus's adorable brother / PROJECT: Echo, My Little Kohai Having a bad day? GuyNamedEarl 1,332 October 4, 2015 Share October 4, 2015 Rainbow Dash was just being all business when ever there is a competition. She wasn't going to let Big Mac win just to make Apple bloom happy. 6 Creator of MLP Ruined Vines and Recorder Sh*t Equestria's Biggest Hip-Hop Nerd Everyday is Leg Day! Unlikeable Pony 2,700 October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 That line was just one of the jokes showing that nopony was fooled by Mac's disguise. it wasn't meant to be serious about anything but that Dash knew it was BM.
Kyoshi Frost Wolf 42,014 October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 I think it was a joke. Basically a joke mocking what we have seen in other cartoons that use the cliched "I won't go easy on you just because you're a girl!" That kind of stuff. I feel like it was a way to flip that around.

Apart from antagonists and Discord, mares are shown to be generally superior in just about everything, at least out of all the characters we have encountered.
Vixor 80 October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 (edited) No, the point of her saying that is because wearing high heels and such in an athletic competition is a potentially considerable disadvantage. Combine that with the fact that he's trying to hide his identity at the same time. It's just her being competitive and saying that Scootaloo and herself won't be compromising their chances of winning because Big Mac decided to enter in such a disadvantageous way with Apple Bloom. I'm sure she sympathizes/admires the fact that Big Mac decided to help his little sister, but this is probably her first sisterhooves social with Scootaloo, and given it's such a special experience for the both of them, she'd want to try and win. The most important thing for her in the competition would definitely be to have fun together with Scootaloo, mind you, I'd just imagine she's going to at least try and win too if she can. As it turns out though, for Big Mac, the dress and high heels ended up being not as much as a disadvantage as Dash thought it would be. Yes this. Apart from antagonists and Discord, mares are shown to be generally superior in just about everything, at least out of all the characters we have encountered. What... are you freaking kidding me? What a load of total nonsense. The show has never portrayed one gender as superior or more dominant in their society, end of story. What you're suggesting is ridiculous and very clearly false. We've seen ponies of both genders doing all sorts of things. Both genders are portrayed as equally capable overall. The show does tend to give it's female characters more screentime, and by extension of that we see more into their lives, but it's never portrayed one gender as superior. Keep in mind that the whole "more screentime" thing doesn't really apply to side characters, where we've got plenty of characters both male and female with a relatively even amount of screentime. I must stress again that to suggest that the show has portrayed one gender as superior or something is completely and utterly ridiculous, and we've again, seen ponies of both genders doing all sorts of things. TubeSock2018 325 October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 (edited) I took it kinda like a cocky remark. I think it was more of a girl power statement than a serious remark that females are better athletes because while I'm not trying to put down female athletes, their male counterparts are faster and stronger. During the episode, look at how fast Big Mac was able to push the haystack compared to RD. RD didn't just choose to not take it easy on Big Mac because he was a stallion. She had to not take it easy because he was a stallion. Edited October 6, 2015 by pollo20x6
Wind Chaser 4,768 October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 (edited) I'm pretty sure it was intentionally meant to be a role-reversal from a meta perspective, but I wouldn't stray from saying it's probably normal to make a statement like that in Equestria. It could be likely that it is implying that stallions in Equestria are, like men, physically stronger on average, and is thus a similarly ironic statement in that context. However, from what's been seen from the show, most female ponies are more than capable of matching or exceeding any male achievement (Big Mac can easily haul a house, but Maud can throw a large boulder immeasurably hard over a mountaintop). Thus, I imagine "going easy on a stallion" is probably something that's actually as common in Equestria as "going easy on a girl" is here, and is thus only ironic from the real-world perspective. arftbmrf 40 October 7, 2015 Share October 7, 2015 Just a joke. Don't take it seriously, I don't think it adds anything in the world of Equestria. Although, mares just as capable as stallions. Maybe a little better. Dash and Fluttershy, while pulling three ponies, were able to keep up with four earth pony stallions, carrying one pony. There's also Maud. Daring Do was able to witstand three earth pony stallions (earth ponies have superior strenght, if somebody forgot) and if she wasn't distracted, she wouldn't have been defeated. Alexio 9 October 7, 2015 Share October 7, 2015 Most likely Just rainbow dash doing what she normally does, be competitive. She probably knew BM was doing it for applebloom, and took it as a bigger challenge, stating that it was just "i wont lose just so applebloom can be happy" since she loves winning
sweetolebob18 728 October 8, 2015 Share October 8, 2015 I think it was just Dash being Dash, she is always sure she will win any competition & was just trash talking + letting Big Mac know he wasn't fooling anyone.
