Are Igneous Rock and Cloudy Quartz offensive?

There seems to be a fine line between representing and offending. Would it be offensive to have an Amish character drive a horse drawn carriage? Or is it a wagon? I can't remember. You know, Amish people actually do that in real life. They also build their own houses. I've seen it. They are pretty fast, too. Would it be offensive if an Amish character built their own house?

 

It's hard to represent different cultures when everything we do is offensive.

Yeah, part of Hearthbreakers had me concerned that Igneous Rock and Cloudy Quartz could be considered offensive Amish stereotypes. So, do you consider them offensive?

I'm sure the sky is offensive if tumblr think about it long enough.

 

The show has 22 minutes to establish new characters, some visual short hand is needed to establish characters in the minds of the viewers, and they do so really well on most occasions. I also doubt a ton of Amish people pay much notice to modern media, considering there stance on frivolous technology and amenities.
