---------------------- 1,645 April 23, 2012 Share April 23, 2012 Hay guys, its been a while sense I posted here, however I needed to get some real advice from you guys. Know, some may argue that I should not try to force it upon him, but I know that If I can some how do it right, I can make him a brony. obviously not every one can be as much of a fan of this show as we are, however I have yet to fail to make some one a brony, here is a description of him. Now he is around my age (16) and overall he is a really smart person, however he has one weird problem that is.... kind of hard to describe. Basically imagine a combination of Twilight and Pinkie Pie, he is really smart, but insanely random. This guy has the attention span of a walnut, So this is not going to be an easy task, however I refuse to accept the fact that it's not possible. I have shown him a couple episodes of season 2 but I am showing him the episodes in order, whenever I try to get him to watch an episode, it's kinda 50/50, he seems to kind of pay attention, however he mostly just makes stupid remarks about the characters and overall just not making any sense. For what ever reason, the reason that he seems to not want to be a brony is quote "I am rock, and once I set my mind I can not be changed" or some other stupid comment like that. He refuses to give me a valid reason on why he does "not" like the show. Even now he is explaining to me that the reason he does not like it is because he is a rock.... I know its so stupid does not make any sense, and personaly I want to deck him in the schnoz. Since he fails to give a valid reason on why he does not like the show, I can only assume its his stupid pride getting in its way. At this point we have reached episode 7 of MLP, and I plan to continue foward, despite all his futile protests. However I can do this all I want, he is very aware of the community, although he has not seen allot of the content that the community has generated. If this helps, his main interests include * Dragon Ball Z * Mario Bros * He is into most if not all of the shows on Nicktoons * And the occasional pokemon He has some others but its quite broad, however I am willing to answer questions if you have any. I know that he is really into cartoons as mention above. I really dont know what else to say here, once agian if there is more info you need, please ask, I would defiantly like to prove him wrong, but some how I need to get rid of his stupid pride, and his stupid quote "I'M A ROCK!"..... Honestly thats starting to piss me off. If you go in knowing you're going to hate it, you're going to have a bad time. Until he can take it seriously, there's nothing you can really do. If he really did not want to become a brony, he would have stopped letting you make him watch the shows after the first episode or two. HOWEVER you are on episode 7 of season 2. This indicates that he does, in fact, even if not willing to admit it, have some attraction for the show, whether it be a mild case of full on bronism, or just the fact that he likes it because it's a cartoon. EITHER WAY you need to show him the fandom and some of it's works. You say he is close to Twilight and Pinkie, in combination, so try to show him something relating to those two. If he realizes or has realized the connection, it will help him more. HOWEVER you should take his opinion into account also. My friend is basically Pinkie Pie in human form but he is easy to talk to, also show him some of the fanwork that's how I turned my friends into Bronies. Show them the Fan Art, Music, Games, etc. If they feel inclined to be a Brony after seeing those then he'll be a Brony. Batbrony 16,055 April 23, 2012 Share April 23, 2012 Yeah, I agree with some of the other posters above, show him so of the media outside of the show itself; that's actually what attracted me to the show in the first place (I started watching Yaplap's videos, those vids are so freakin' hilarious! ). You said he's very random and has a short attention span, so maybe show him some short dub vids, like trailers dubbed over MLP (a particular favorite of mine lately has been the 'Hangover' and 'Hangover Part II' trailer dubs, but the 'Dark Knight' and '300' trailer dubs are also hilarious!). Hope this helps, but if he turns out just to be a lost cause and really stubborn, then don't waste your time trying to convert him when you could be sharing MLP with so many of your other friends. Maybe find some sweet videos or art of MLP crossovers with the interests he likes (DBZ, Mario Bros. like you mentioned) or just straight up awesome MLP PMVs or art. Since you said he's kinda random, maybe the Ponies: Anthology or the .MOVs since those are pretty random. Don't press too much or else it might spur a backlash and then there'll be 0% chance of converting him. Good luck. You didn't give very much to go off of based off that, but music's always good, so are games like PonyKart and fighting is magic.
