critique wanted Rate my new OC: Vivid Clover

Hello. 

 

So! This, as the title implies, is my new character: Vivid Clover.

 

I've been working on her for a couple of days now and, after constantly going back to her page from time to time, editing some minor details and polishing her up, I think I'm finally at the point where I'm satisfied with the end results. That said, I would love to receive a few critiques and tips on what I did right, what I did wrong and what can I do to make her better.

 

I didn't exactly aim for her to be fit as part of the show's cast since I don't know how well the poker/gambling theme would work within the actual MLP universe. At the time, I had in mind stuff like Adventure, Slice-of-Life or even Action oriented roleplays. But please, do feel free to judge her however you'd like. Any kind of help is strongly appreciated!

Very well thought out OC. I think that in a broad sense she could fit within the show cannon universe. The colors/design works well with her personality. I am deeply curious what the two cards on her cutie mark are (double aces?). The prospect of a gambling psychiatrist intrigues me. She probably made a few enemies along the way.

 

The only thing I would improve upon is to get an original drawing of your OC. The Pony character creator is a great tool, but it is also a very common tool. having a unique drawing of your OC would help it stand out in a good way.

 

but in the end, that has nothing to do with the character design, so good job!

Yeah, I originally wanted to have an actual drawn picture for her instead of using the creator, but as it turns out, I have no artistic talent at all~ All I was able to add were the glasses and the cutie mark. Even though it's generic, the pony creator does look way better than whatever I'd produce myself. So for that, I'd have to request a drawing from someone else - which I'll most likely end up doing sooner or later.

 

And yes, the cards on her cutie mark are a black and a red aces. And well, let's just say... she isn't exactly the best psychiatrist around. Most of the times she's way better at messing people's thoughts up than helping them.
