The Lightbearer, or Hellbringer as Silver called her, was sitting in town square enjoying what appeared to be chicken and dumplings. "Don't say a word Starswirl. I don't care whether the bird was alive or not. This is good s#*|. The Lightbearer resembled the Alicorn that had come into Nightmare Moon's castle and had escaped. She wore a black and gray scarf, and had a pair of worn brown saddlebags. She eyed Emerald, while slurping the broth from the soup. She finished the soup, and set down her bowl. "Hello Emerald. How are you coping being without your dark master?"

You know what i'd say about that, yes something rather grim. "her statement would not be pleasant to hear, i've had to control her for a while now she is being very uncooperative." You might be too if somepony just takes up in your head then starts spreading lies then takes over your own body! "She is more unhappy now...." Emerald wrestles control again for a moment. "Stop F@#$%^& talking for me you dead ass! As for you I shall personally enjoy hoofing you over to Nightmare, she will destroy this place!" "Uh hem she dose have a lot of spirit i'll give her that."

"Alright, Scion of the Nightmare," the Lightbearer summoned a blade, and stood up. She stretched out, similarly to the way a cat stretches. The Lightbearer was easily as tall as Nightmare Moon. "I was once Celestia's Student. I wouldn't have traded it for anything in the world, but the Nightmare came and took it away. So ready your blade Emerald. You can prove yourself for your dark master."

A small void of darkness appeared in front of her, from it came a halberd the weapon was one and a half times the length of her the shaft was pitch black the blade and hammer sections where a very dark shade of steel, there was also a glow around the weapon it was something of pure darkness.

 

"I shall not only slay you but slay you but your soul aswell." What in Equestria is that? Quiet you. Emerald made one motion with her wings and she seemingly teleported then brought her weapon vertically down wiht the speed of on Celestia knows what.

Peachplum walked over to something that looked like a town centre ''This looks like a perfect place, don't you agree Nerlate?'' Nerlate sat there and didn't respond ''Giving me the silent treatment now? You're so cold to ladies as usual Nerlate'' Nerlate then spoke ''Peachplum. Work you have to finish, no need to chat'' Peachplum shrugged and sighed ''This is why you'll never find anyone'' at this point her horn had started to glow an eerie green, it then started to release dark magic which created golems from the ground, the buildings and from a single tree. She then instructed the golems to just go wild before cutting off the conncetion to them so if one were to capture one it couldn't be led to her, although this causes them to not recognize her as an owner. After this she teleported away and found herself near a signal of some sort, by then half of Peachplum's face had been replaced by Nerlate's ''It's already over? Oh well. Have fun avoiding the golems Nerlate'' after that Peachplum's whole body vanished in a cloud of darkness and Nerlate's was back into the realm, he had sent a thank you to Peachplum before going to where the signal was sent from which was the school in the nearby region.

 

He went up to the guard and tried to enter, but of course they blocked his path and told him that without proper identification they couldn't allow him to enter. He calmly took out a brown crystal and put it on the ground, it then started to crack slowly releasing some sort of musical noise. This noise then made the ground around the guards transport them downwards until their heads were under the ground and sealed it with some breathing holes. He entered the school grounds after planting another two brown crystals but this time they were light brown and created small golems of some sort. They had no connection to Nerlate but they still listened to his commands, the command this time was to distract and if possible not kill the guards. He then went to the place where the signal was sent from only to find Shadow and someone he didn't seem to know.

The Lightbearer's blade glowed blue and lavender, and she brought it up and blocked the attack. "First thing you learn in magic sparring: never show your trump card til the end." The Lightbearer summoned a bow and placed her sword in it like an arrow, took aim, and fired. She missed. Whether it was intentional or not was debatable. She summoned another blade, that glowed red. Her mane started to twitch and writhed like a flame. She blocked another attack. "Emerald, you aren't who I remember you to be, what has she done to you?" Anger was evident in her voice, "F#<€ that witch!"

When Nerlate arrived, Moonflame changed himself back into the clothes he had decided upon, (Purple shirt, black jacket, jeans) and Twilight reappeared. "I'm not explaining." She said, "too much has happened today, I'm barely understanding any of it. So who are... Ah you're Nerlate, correct? At least, that's what Moonflame says.

Twilight let off another beacon, calling on Saturn. "So, Nerlate.... What exactly are you? I mean, I'm not sure wether this is some strange dream or just some pony messing with my head, but I think this is real... And who is Saturn. This... Symbiote is just being cryptic to me." Twilight summoned a pillow and dropped her face into it. And then screamed. Then she disolved the pillow, much calmer now.

Nerlate looked unsurprised at what was infront of him. He then listened to Twilight asking him questions which he answered shortly after she was done ''Am I allowed to tell? Negative. Simply meaning, I am only me. Only Nerlate, may you call me a protector or guardian of said world we are in? Positive, yet negative. Guardian nor destructor i am not.'' he told her before putting down a grey looking crystal which made a fog appear around them ''This crystal projects said shield around us, conceals us it does. For how long? I do sadly not know, never used. Never made again'' after that he got a ping from the 'chat' which was from someone he had never seen on the list before. It was another new born one. It probably had gotten to it unconciously and wanted to ask what it was for or something, as it did that he seemed to be distracted and spacing out endlessly explaining how to use this ability to the fullest to the child. He then went back and focused on Twilight ''Asking i forgot, what your name is. May i recieve the knowing?''

Moonflame, is that his name? Has us set on a course for a place known as Undercity. Whatever that is. He has us here for a windstone? Really that's what they're called? That a bit lame." Twilight started talking to herself again, before realizing how odd she was appearing. "So you're basically a shapeshifter?"

Emerald's speed increased, one of her training techniques was against superior opponents was to increase speed to wear them down and put a strikethrough their defence, before her own exhaustion kicked in this usually made no difference to her due to her vampiric state, but she had been 'temporarily' cured of that so keeping up the attacks was starting to strain her. She continued though but it was showing.

"Classic form, but changed a bit for more aggressive attacks." The alicorn muttered to herself. She dove under one of Emerald's attacks, and noticed she was starting to wear down. "Huh, tired yet champion?" The Lightbearer said it so spitefully, and then parried another one of Emerald's blades.

Emerald's rage reached an unparalleled level, this was something very dangerous for all around her, she pulled back and there was visible changes to her body and voice it was demonic in it's sound "You know nothing of what you trifle with, Lightbearer, do you think i'd let my captian of the guard just disappear, I'd do nothing about it she is my puppet and will destroy you." You my child and most loyal have your 'gift' back, yes your Highness  Emerald's features returned to their vampiric state and she had an aura of darkness around her, Nightmare was lending her strength. Emeralds appearance was more grotesque than before, she really looked like the stuff of nightmares. With this she began attacking with lightning speed, wielding her massive weapon as if it was made of paper.

"Hello Again, Nightmare. I won't have this anymore." The Lightbearer sat down. "I execute my promises Nightmare." The Lightbearer drew another blade. "Emerald, the young captain I knew would never stoop so low. This isn't you." The Lightbearer used a singsong voice, and then attacked. A flick of her horn sucked all of Emerald's energy, filling her up with the Nightmare's essence. "Remember this Emerald. Remember what it feels like... to be a monster." She then took her blade, easily evading, another flick of her horn slowed time, until everypony seemed like they were moving through syrup. She ran, ducked, parried, and then sunk then blade into Emerald's side. Emerald slumped. The Lightbearer was bleeding in several areas, when the wounds sealed up. "See you again Emerald, Starswirl, when she wakes up in about an hour's time, Tell me. She going to be so sore. Poor thing. She'll wake up at the temple, where I'll be."

No I don't want to. "ouch" Emerald sat up in a large amount of pain, there was a gaping slash in her side, she faintly touched around the large wound, even from some distance from it, the pain was immense "I Don't like being a wraith, I heal too slowly." ​Invulnerability has it's perks "yeah so does vampirism. Where am I?"

(Not quite, but realization should be starting to dawn. At least in my opinion)

 

The Lightbearer sat at the end of Emerald's bed, wearing a white cloak. "In the temple of the two sisters. You're on the solar side. The infirmary basically." She paused, slightly unsure, before deciding on what she was to say. "Emerald, what happened. I need to know how you fell under Nightmare Moon's control. You're losing control of yourself. Soon you will be just a shell. Nothing. Just a slave to the will of Nightmare Moon."

There was suddenly a sense of self realization, hold on what is that? Me? You're different then before I feel different "I...I will tell you, why am I telling you?... I served in the Solar guard a year before Nightmare returned, I fell prey to a vampire six months before, the 'event' I had just really come to terms with what I am not now, or somthing? I was in the detail sent to Ponyville, when Nightmare returned after the darkness we tried to stop her, I learnt afterwards that the Elements had failed, we were no match for her she killed everypony in the detail there were six of us apart from me she realized that I was of the darkness now and could be broken so she relentlessly tortured me for three weeks until she broke me. After that I went to Canterlot gathered all the guard and she slaughtered them all, she has been in control of me ever since... why am I telling you this?"

The Lightbearer listened through it all, and sat for a couple moments contemplating Emerald's words. "I believe you're telling me, because you've kept it bottled up so long Emerald. So very long. I've seen the atrocities she's committed, but I believe you can be saved. It won't be easy but it can be done. If fact, it's already beginning. It's part of the magic of this world. It brings the good out of everything, while also scratching out the evil. But I believe that I've found a way to heal you, from Nightmare Moon, not my enchantments. Also, let Starswirl look at your wounds! He can aid, by being in control. Then your wounds will heal at a... much accelerated rate. That bloody hole is going to stain the bed sheets."

"can he really? Well that would be nice, Starswirl?" Of course let me patch that up. The gaping wound closed itself at some speed. "not bad there Starswirl, vampiric healing is still faster but that is quite impressive." Emerald looked to Lightbringer "have we met before there is something nagging me in the back of my head." You'll remember soon enough. "Nightmare is going to punish me for this failure."

"As if she could. She's an egotistical megalomaniac. She won't be doing s#*| here. Pardon my language, and just in case you've felt you've met me. Here." Another flick restored Emerald's memories of her last visit here. "And my real name... is Twilight, Twilight Sparkle. Come see me in the garden when you feel fit to move." And with a swish of her cloak and a flick of her horn, The Lightbearer was gone.

"Finally, hey Nerlate. May I ask what took ya so long? This bottle is half way done. Oh, I was wondering if you two drink."

A scorpion came out of a portal and starting close to the bottle. Shadow grabbed the bottle and placed it on the other side of him

"I forgot all this?!" Yeah you did, my dear. How? Simple answer is magic, ok sure Emerald sat up in the bed her memories coming back, "Twilight Sparkle? I have heard that name before but where?" The pain in Emerald's side was intense but she would live and she was told she could not die, so she pulled herself out of the bed and walked out to the garden, she walked up to the side of the Alicorn "you're bigger than what I remember of you, and you did not have wings you where there weren't you that night?"

"I hid them, I'm the last of my kind. Tis' a shame really. There were originally four, now just one." The Lightbearer shook her head to clear away the negativity away. "I am the guardian of this shattered world. It was once perfect, but now, it's just an echo." The Lightbearer jumped onto a fence, and started walking upon it, and then jumped down. "I've figured out how to heal you, but it shall require great... suffering. The vampirism is still in your veins, Starswirl, just keeps it under wraps. Nightmare Moon left you. Do you understand? She dumped you when it got to difficult, shed you like a skin, and no doubt replaced you." The Lightbearer summoned the suit of armor Emerald had bought. She took out some steel wool, and started scrubbing the surface.

"the pain you are suggesting will be nothing to what she put me through and you can't cure my vampirism I had it in control before Nightmare I fed on apples, does the same thing, regardless if you could cure me I would die for real this time I was dead for three days before I came back in a morgue in Canterlot, just Nightmare encouraged me to totally embrace my monster side I regret what I did I, don't deserve life i've killed too many innocents their blood is on my hooves."

"I've killed too, Emerald. But than shouldn't hold you back. That will only haunt you if you let it." The Lightbearer paused while scrubbing the gold off the armor. "Your vampirism, it's curable, through the Crucible of Light. But your choice. As for your redemption, you must slay Nightmare Moon's head captain, Rainbow Dash." The gold on the solar guard armor had come off with the steel wool, revealing the now stratched steel. She did that to the entire set. And then ripped off the emblem of the Solar Guard, replacing it with that of a simple drawstring. "Here you go. All enchanted and everything. Once she's dead, you're free."

"Kill Rainbow Dash, she's just like me, no was like me i'm not controled like that anymore, but she is why must I kill her? I need to be better no we must be above them or it will be one darkness replaced with another." Emerald sat and thought about it though, Thoughts? I trust Twilight with my existence, so I would listen to her, but your words hold some great truth to them.
