If the NX fails, do you think Nintendo could go software only?

Several Key people at Nintendo have said they'd rather go under than go 3rd party. If the NX fails it's more likely they'll probably just make more systems until their done

 

Whether that might actually happen remains to be seen

I hiiiiighly doubt that Nintendo would ever do this regardless of financial failures. Could they go software only though? No doubt in my mind, their properties are more than profitable enough for them to make bank in third party software, buuuut, that won't happen.
