gaming Drakengard series

So, do you guys know the Drakengard series by Cavia? Which are your favorite titles from it? They're pretty much your average fantasy-themed game with dragons and elves, but eventually take on a turn for the bizarre, when the heroes have to confront a race of Lovecraftian beings called "Watchers" or "Grotesqueries" which manifest as huge creepy babies with sharp teeth and electric wings. There are also other bizarre and surreal moments. In a nutshell, it's something along the lines of ''Dungeons and Dragons meets Neon Genesis Evangelion". So, which games have you played, and which title do you like the best? And who are your favorite characters?

I've only played the first Drakengard and Nier so far. I have Drakengard 3 sitting here waiting to be played. I might skip Drakengard 2. Doesn't sound like it's worth the time.

 

Nier is by far my favorite of the two. Drakengard had some nice things going for it but was ultimately bogged down by how grindy it was to get all the endings. Not to mention how hard it was to even finish the final ending.

 

Nier is a much smoother experience in spite of it having some of the same grindy qualities. It also has better everything.

 

I can't wait for Nier Automata.
