Summer nodded and put her hoof in the few blood drops then brought it up to he mouth and licked it off her hoof. He eyes widened and she looked strait down the corridor. "She's not far from us, go get the guards then come down this way just listen for me." Summer then ran down the hall around a comer she had the smell it was like being given a map with a line drawn strait to the X she made turns here and there till she stopped at a door she looked at it. It was large and old and thick somthing difficult to kock down but she was damn well going to try, she shoulder charged the door with little effect, she went for another...

 

Emerald cried out again, the pain was excruciating he was cutting her soul out of her (little headconon there) she struggled just making it worse.

 

"HEY STOP HURTING MY COUSIN!!" She charged the door again. She was getting angry very angry...

(on mobil) wane stoped the cutting hearing the door being slamed on. "Persistent little freak" he said growling a little pressing a button on a tray. The table emerald was on began to sink in the floor as wane cleaned up "I'm afraid our fun will have to wait just hang tight" he said cracking his neck and pulling out a whip. He looked at the door preeping for the attack he fliped a switch un locking the door as summer burst through it. He raised the whip and slashed summers face and again on her neck with a deep wound. The door slammed shut behind her. "You know I didn't want to do that to a petty face, and I was hopping you would be my queen" he raised the whip again going for another strike....

Summer felt the pain of the last it was nothing as the first time her bones broke from transition, she fell to her knees. "AH!!" as most of the bones in her body broke, her wings changed and her eyes. Her fangs stuck must of been half a foot out of her jaw she got back up from her knees and glared at him, then raised a hoof to look at it seemingly ignoring Wane. "So that was what it felt like to transition well..." she lowered her hoof and looked at him. "That did not hurt as much as Em said it would..." she charged at him with lightning speed pinning him to the far wall she looked at him with a cocky grin. "Your less fun than my cousin was and she's a half breed whats your excuse?" She let him go and stood back a little allowing for him to compose himself.

 

(The idea is she is very fast fast even in vampire terms.)

getting hit by the yellow blure made Wane see stars now looking at the vamp form of summer vs her usual form "how in lunas mane" he got back up looking at her. "lucky shot dear" Wane said spitting his blood out doing his best not to show his surprise of him coughing up blood. "but its going to take more then that to take me" he moved the whip faster then his last strokes but seeing summer blur away from it only made him angry  

 

"how, are, you, doing, stop!" he said glareing at summer as she seemed to doge every strike he made with the whip

 

"your right maybe I should improvise" Wane said throwing a medical tray with razor sharp needels flying at the yellow mare.....

 

-Meanwhile in the maze
Dark heart stood over the younger vampony who was cut to ribbons. The young vampony held out a shaking hoof "w-why uncle?" he asked

 

"simple nephew, only the pure will reign" he said making the killing blow with the fencing sword. He pulled it out of the vampony hearing his blood stop. He cleaned his blade using a cloth he turned from the body and smiled "now just two left"

 

-In the hall
The young vamponys only mother was being held back by her sisters screaming every curse imaginable to let her in the maze eyes full of tears, puffy and red.  

 

The elder sighed "so Heart, your true colors have shown."

 

-In the maze
cresent ears twitched hearing a nearby blood beat stop, "emerald?" his trot turned into a gallop across the bridge, "please night mother don't take her" he said out loud

Summer was moving so fast she was surprising herself the blades stuck into the wall behind her, she looked at the wall for a second the blades were stuck into stone, then looked back. "You have a real arm on you there Mr. Slow." she again rammed him into the wall with blinding speed, again letting him recover. "You've got one more chance you bastard once more before I knock you to the wall and drain you like a sack of wine, I could do with a drink." 

 

Emerald could sense the fighting above and kept struggling in her bonds.

@, Wane cracked his neck after getting out of the wall "seeing your cousin bleed did get me hungry too the more I think about it and I do need a proper feeding" his teeth showed and his winged hooks similar to cresents seemed to sharpen. In a rush he stabbed summer with his wing tips in her neck punching in the same spot making her breathing painful now. He moved in for the bite but she still moved to fast for him.

 

"shut you up that did, you just had to be rude" he moved in for a strike on her side then jumped over her kicking the opposite side sending her down. his sharpened wing tips went into summers front hoofs not deep but enough to pin her down a bit "last words dinner?" he said leaning in for the bite he was going for....

"Your Tummy is exposed, my Cousin taught me this." She lifted up on rear hoof and kicked him in the goolies (manhood softies) which he fell down from then with both her rear hooves bucked him a few feet into the air knocking him across the room. She stood up looked at her front hooves watching the wounds heal before her own eyes. "I like the new me..." She looked over to him. "sorry dinner what was it you were saying?"

Wane was trying to work out what just happened one moment he was about to eat the next his breathing and lower half hurt and he was in the wall, a 3rd time now with the yellow mare standing up still.  Wordlessly and shaking he moved toward the cabinet punching the glass door and grabbing a dark red vile and chugged it. Wane turned back now smiling what ever wounds summer made on him were gone and his eyes was blacker then night. "now the dance can really begin"

 

Wane sounded different like his voice became overlapped by another he screamed in pain summer hearing a few cracks as he began to grow taller to soon his head was level with the ceiling. His wings bigger as well looked sharpened and jagged. "doge this!"

 

the sharp metal looking wing rushed into summers side deeper then the last cut and then his other wing followed suit puncturing both sides of summers side
(don't worry she will heal fast just trying something new here)

Summer screamed as she was pined in place but the massive Want now in the room. She turned to one of his wings and sank her teeth into them trying to fight him off in a fit of desperation. she tried to also move but she was stuck in his grasp. I will see you dead Wane!

 

Emerald was using all her might she broke one of the straps holding her and tried to free herself.

Wane chuckeld the laughter seemed to reverberate around the room "stop, stop your tickling me hehe ok seriesously, I said"

 

Wanes wings pulled out of summer and slapped into her sending her through the wall into another medical looking room, loud thumps were herd as Wane moved into the room summer was thrown into "c'mon that cant be all that you got freak lets see that turned blood magic I her about you got from that welp cresent, or did he save you for nothing?

Summer managed to raise her self to her hooves and spat blood on the floor. "I'm the freak? I'M THE FREAK!?" A glow projected around her she felt the strength of ten ponies flowing through her. "I'LL SHOW YOU FREAK!" She flew at him carrying him with her crashing back though the first wall then through the original one into a hallway, lightly easing off and sent him flying into a third one. She hovered there looking at herself. "What, I'm glowing, what is the magic?!" She refocused on Wane who was getting up at that point she flew into him again holding him, pinning him against the wall the masonry being impacted at her force. "No more games!" She sank her fangs into his neck...

Wane was surpised for the 4th time again being pushed by the little yellow pony then, feeling her teeth sink in him he felt his power leaving him ."NNNOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!"

 

Wanes wings stabbed into the mares side but only after one wing did it, he felt his body get heavyer and heavyer as summer only sank he teeth deep into his neck. He screamed in pain echoing through the halls as he began to shrink.

 

Dark light had just rounded the corner to see all of this. Her brother shrinking in size as emerald burryed her face into his neck.  

 

"what in the hell?" she said outloud holding back the guard unsure of what she was looking at

Summer was going to kill him she would not be stopping by her choice. Her rage induced thoughts going into his mind as she kept drinking. YOU SCUM SUCKING LITTLE SHIT I'LL HAVE YOU FOR DINNER!! She bit harder her teeth went deeper her rage was reducing but wanted him dead.

"have, have mer" Wane tried to speak yet having the mare in his thought it was getting harder.

 

Darklight flew towards summer pulling her off, very very difficultly with the strength of summer in this vamp form she was going full blood rage. She needed 3 other gryphons to help pry summer off. Once off how ever it was too late, Wane was on the verge of death, with a tear in her eye darklight bit into wane trying to give him more blood. 

 

yet as soon as dark light bit her step brother he was gone. "no no plese" she tried his leg but one of the gaurds pulled her back

 

"no, no! he's the closest"

 

The gryphon responded "my lady don't" said the guard, dark light wanted to figer out what just happened but then the spews of summer snaped her out of it.

 

She glared at the yellow pony with her eye. She knew summer was havng her blood rage, she noded at the guard behind summer and with a swift hit of the talon summer was knocked out.

 

"my lady what are your orders?" asked the gryphon

 

"lock her in my quarters" she was struggeling the tears from forming. Went over to her brothers dead body and sank into his neck watching his blood memorys.

 

She pulled back looking more shaken, she spat out the blood "emeralds through that hole check the lab go!" she cried out. two gryphons hastely followed her orders and found emerald kicking the door she was behind. Soon she was freed and brought to Dark lights bedroom....

Emerald could not walk she was carried to the room the wound to her flank was deep and made her leg unworkable. She looked at her cousin her front half was covered in blood, she looked at the tear filled Light. "I take it that Wane was not a match for my Cousin, she's the strongest thing I've ever witnessed."

Dark light gestured the guards to leave, they did leaving the mares in the room, dark light went up to emerald hugging her silently.

 

After what seemed like a bit she let go "we'll get you walking again" she sniffeld wipping her nose a bit. Soon a medical pony showed up looking emerald over and pulled darklight out of the room.

 

Dark light came back in with the doctor pony, "emerald this is loyal the family nurse, she'll heal you up soon. I have the gryphons guarding the door outside"

 

Dark light helped emerald get setteled on the bed and moved to the dresser sitting in front of its mirror pressing a button here and their. On the mirror it turned into a tv of sorts showing the maze trail. The mirror was split into 3 pictures in a Y shape

 

The top showing Dark heart confidently looking at the puzzle in front of him, the bottom right showing cresent trying to pull a lever that was three times his size and the bottom right showed...Wane.

 

As Loyal was mending emeralds wounds Darklight turned towards emerald "we both know that's a changeling we are seeing on here, I dint know what dark heart has done, I think lock got into an accident and cresent I know he passed the tea test with that rabbit" said dark light. Emerald could tell she was fighting back a lot of feelings right now but it could be herd in her blood.

 

"excuse me for a second, let me know if you need anything" dark light got up and moved towards he bathroom. the sound of heavy running water could be herd.

Summer lay on the floor a heap, she was still knocked out. Emerald looked at her. Not even you Summer the sweetest thing I know could not stop the call why did Wane hurt me? Why? She looked back to the doctor and the mirror, "Is my mark OK? You can chop my fucking leg off if needed but my mark..." She did not even have the courage to look at her own flank.

Façade had not caught the hoopla on the television. It was ridiculous to him. And no doubt it was full of cheating too. "Do I look like I speak Mantalian? No, and honestly, I'm not interested in it." Façade finished tweaking his tools and weapons. Then he stood up and a opened the door. "I'm headed for the forge. I have a feeling that mechanical bitch will show up again."

 

Façade headed to the forge, not paying attention to whether Dark Beak had decided to follow or not. When Façade arrived at the forge, he had the blades put in a heater. And then Façade would pick them up when they were hot. Façade then exited the forge to the town square right outside, and sat down. He decided to watch the crowd, and ignore the feelings of loneliness.

As faced watched the crowd he was starting to notice that the place seemed having some sort of festival of some sort with many banners flying around and being carried by other ponys here and their. Some of them had the faces of cresents family on them as if it were some sort of rally or sports event going on. The mare he was looking for still hadn't shown up,

 

"for a gun for hire knowing another language for a difrent country kind of hurts your quota right" Dark beak caught up too him sitting next to him on the bench.  

 

"the news was going on about the blood trails, its an annual event that happens every 50 or so years. Think electing the mare but instead the runners or "chosen" they are called do and possibly will kill each other to become mare. Or in this case King of Manity" he leaned back into the bench.  

 

"and I thought us gryphons had it ruff chooseing a leader" he finished

 

-In the castel
The doctor was looking closely at the cuti mark and leg in general when the unicorn eventually patted her head giving a reassuring smile and pulled out a lollipop from her coat pocket placing it next to emerald. Dark light came out of the bathroom mane soaking wet almost covering her face but with a fresh new eye patch on her other eye "oh I forgot she took a vow of silence, she say's she'll fix the leg and cuti mark but you will be in the bed for a week to heal."

 

The unicorn nodded "she give lollipops out to everypony, it her way of saying its all right" darklight said pulling out a towel from a deferent dresser and drying her mane with it using her hoofs "Wane wanted to kill you because he knew cresent was stronger then him, hence the boat attack, and....ya" she said putting the towel back down looking at the dresser

 

-In the maze cresent finally pulled the giant switch down opening a giant gated door, he was breathing hard wiping the sweat from his brow. Beyond the gate was a room with a checkered floor and the other wane just stepping into the room himself

 

The two ponys made eye contact  as they stared each other down, it was cresent who blinked first shaking his head "listen I don't care about that damn crown I just want to know who keeps trying to kill me, so take it Wane. Its not worth the fight"

 

The other wane's stern look went into a surprised one "don't want the crown, ha! nice try cres but I'm not falling for that old trick"

 

cresent rolled his eyes "look I cant just walk out of this we both know any of us try that the rebound spell will send us into one of the traps" he said

 

"speaking of traps, are we standing in one?" asked the other wane.

 

Cresent looked around the room, in the center of it was a grand piano and suddenly the gates behind him and the other wane closed

 

Cresent face hoofed "you just had to temp it" he said

Summer rose up from her heap rubbing the back of her head. "Ouch!" She then looked around to see the ponies in the room, in the time she was knocked out she had returned to her normal self, both physically and emotionally. She stopped when her eyes saw Emerald. "EM!" She flew over and crashed onto her cousin, then kissed her forehead. "Em." 

 

Emerald put her hooves around her cousin. "Aye i'm alright now, Doc says I need a week in bed but i'm ok, you saved me Summer." The pair of them just hugged for the next few moments in silence.

Seeing summer move about in her original form was surreal for darklight, half of her wanted to jump on summer while the other half was sitting on that half telling it to sit in the corner while the parents figger it out. The nurse was surpised at summers sudden movment backing up then doing a check up on her after the two cousins parted

 

Darklight smiled "summer glad your back to normal, how you feeling. And how much do you remember?" she asked the yellow mare

 

Emerald could hear the rageing war inside dark light's heart seeing summer....

 

-In the maze

The floor began to tilt un naturally to the side making both ponys panick a bit, the other wane more so then cresent moved forward towards the piano like his flank was set on fire "gah! good going cres" he said grabbing the stool of the paino.

 

Cresent wordlessly hoverd in the air "bro we have wings remember?" said cresent

 

"oh...that right" the other wane cursed hovering cresent level "so what were you saying about" the other wane was interrupted as a giant pendulum blade swung in front of him making him fly back in reflex.

 

Cresent too flew back and was nearly cut in half by another pendulum blade. He landed on the floor looking around "Wane get down!" he said

Summer looked up to Light and saw her face and the way she was looking at her. "what happened...I...I remember getting angry when he called me a freak I don't remember anything after that."

 

"Summer you killed Wane, you drank him nearly dry..."

 

Summer reeled from them all flying all the way back into a wall and then crashed onto the floor holding her mouth. "Oh my Luna!" She started to cry...

Darklight rushed towards summer holding her shoulders trying to stop her from shaking recognizing what was happening.

 

 "summer, summer listen to me" darlight said  looking into the yellow mares scared face "summer, your fine just focus on me" darklight said the docter pony was acting fidgety trying to relax summer as well.

 

"it was self defense summer its ok" she hugged the yellow mare "your fine" darklight said sounding more like a mother then her tomponyish tone she's had. She pulled back slightly still holding summer "I saw the whole battle in his blood memory you had the rights" dark lights one eye was getting tearfull.

 

This was quiet a sight for emerald to see from another batpony she almost looked like cresent.

Emerald would go over but she could not move at that time she just looked on.

 

"I'm a monster, a murderer...a freak...I killed someone without even remembering it I...I need to be put down like a rabid dog or a wild animal...I'm a killer..." She looked down ashamed or her actions.

Dark light tilted summer's chin up "summer, your not a freak. your scared yes, your freighted, you are many things summer a friend, a cousin, yes a vampony with more power then your cusin and me but you are not a freak. And anypony who says other wise is just scared" said the mare.  

 

Darklight hugged the yellow mare tight pating her back "your fine summer, your just learning" she said doing her best to hold back her tears. She needed to be strong for this one. Cresent hadn't taught summer much. Something darklight would fix in the future
