gaming Harvest Moon fans, have you heard about Stardew Valley?

Not directly related to Harvest Moon, I'll admit, but I've been following this project for several months now. The release date has finally been announced for February 26th, and I couldn't be more pumped.

Basically, it's an indie farming(ish) game that's been in the works for quite a long time now; borrows a ton from the Harvest Moon game style, but tries to make it more modifiable/open-ended and all that, as is the theme with a ton of post-minecraft indie games. It looks to include a basic combat system, a ton to do/change on your farm, a moderate bit of a story, gender-blind marriage, (what looks to be) a customizable main character, a customizable house/furniture layout... all that.

 

_{( Also, in the future the creator plans to release a multiplayer mode, which allows multiple people to play off the same map I hear. Like, not just separate maps with some kind of small overlap/connection, but actual equally involved multiplayer? )}

Looks cool. I like Harvest Moon and Rune Factory so I'll check this out!
