movies/tv Are we entering a new generation of voice actors?

You may have noticed that many cartoons these days have been using younger and younger voice talent. From child voice actors, to just simply young actors. We're seeing a lot of fresh faces on the voice acting side. Meanwhile, long time veterans like Tara Strong, Tom Kenny, and Jeff Bennett are either getting significantly less work, or basically retired from the industry. Once upon a time, you couldn't find a cartoon that didn't have Tara Strong or Grey DelIsle in it in some way shape or form. Nowadays, they're either clinging to their roles in long running shows, or provide the voice for the rare background character. So will we see people like Kristian Schall and Sam Marian become the new Tara's and Tom's in the future?

Well, though there are new voice actors coming out, I think studios prefer the veterans because they have more range and control of their voices. I like new VAs maybe some of them will be as good as a veteran on day. That would be great

I do think there seems to be a rise in new talent, and some old talent seems to be retiring(I haven't heard much from Cam Clarke now that I think about it), but I don't think it's as noticeable as you say. You still see current voice actors showing up in different roles, you still see plenty of the likes of Tara Strong, Steve Blum, Yuri Lowenthal, Dan Castellaneta, etc., still showing up in different roles.

I'd say people are only noticing because older characters people grew up with are being played by new people. People made a huge stink about the Powerpuff Girls both because they used completely different people for the girls and because they never contacted the original actresses.

I don't think there's anything wrong with using new actresses and I can understand the originals being upset about being replaced(when you love a character or role you played in, it sucks when you get replaced from that role), but they should be more encouraging to the new talents rather than make a huge scene about being replaced, both because it's unprofessional and because it creates a more hostile environment for new talent
