MLP:FiM typically centers around Twilight Sparkle and her adventures with friendship. After each show there is a moral learned about friendship, and the hardships they endure in the friendship. occasionally the show centers around a separate pony of the mane 6 (Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Apple Jack, or Flutter Shy). They all have very different personalities and very different "jobs" and such, and its a very fun show.also, yeah, guys who watch MLP (like myself) are called bronies.

My Little Pony:Friendship Is Magic is a cartoon based in the land of Equestria. It has multiple genres to it like romance (only a small amount of this though) and adventure which is a lot more frequent. Characters are as follows:

 

Twilight Sparkle:

The mane character as it were (mane=main, haha so funny). Though all characters play a large role in the show, the constant referral towards Twilight signifies her as the protagonist. She is a purple unicorn who was raised in Canterlot and studied magic under the care of Princess Celestia (the "goddess" of Equestria). She has 5 main friends, who I will talk about later, and a dragon named Spike who is her number one assistant. Twilight lives inside the Ponyville library, which is basically a giant tree. She has a lot of magical potential and is prone to freak out at the littlest of things. She is very humorous, loves books and has a pet owl named Owloscious (I believe that is how its spelt).

 

Rarity:

Rarity is a white unicorn with a purple mane. She owns and lives in Carousel Boutique, a dress and clothing shop situated in Ponyville. She has a sister named Sweetie Belle and a pet cat named Opal. She is a very generous character however she can be quite rude and demanding of others. I used to despise her but recently she has shown herself to be very level headed despite her flaws and civilised appearance. She is a very fashion conscious pony, incredibly over dramatic and has an accent that would melt the heart of a cockatrice.

 

Fluttershy:

Fluttershy is a yellow pegasus pony with a pink mane. She lives in a cottage on the outskirts of Ponyville near the beginning of the Everfree Forest. She is a very shy individual, hence the name and cares for all manner of creatures, including her pat bunny named Angel. She is incredibly sweet and kind but has a flaw that enables her to be pushed over by anyone. She has a fear of dragons but her desire to help her friends is stronger then fear. Overall, she is an adorable, sweet, kind, caring and lovable creature. The single closest character that you will find that resembles the cutesy-wootesy stereotypes based around My Little Pony. Beware though, she has a dark side.

 

Rainbow Dash:

A cyan pegasus pony with a rainbow coloured mane, hence Rainbow Dash. She is the self proclaimed fastest flyer in Equestria and the only pony to perform a sonic rainboom twice (a sonic rainboom is a little like a nuclear explosion but with more colours). She is very brash, arrogant and deeply loyal to her friends. She won't take no for an answer and she loves a challenge. However she is fairly lazy and hates losing. She is the only pony to kick a fully grown dragon in the face and live. She lives in a cloud house on the outskirts of Ponyville. Overall, she is very arrogant, loyal and hilarious. Combined with her being 20% cooler then the others, she is my favourite of the Mane 6.

 

Applejack:

Applejack is a orange earth pony with blonde hair. She lives and works on a farm, Sweet Apple Acres, along with her brother Big Mac, sister Sweetie Belle and granny Smith. She is very stubborn, hard working and dependable. She is the cowgirl of the group, the ruffian as it were. Nearly the exact opposite of the always immaculate Rarity, she doesn't care about her appearance. She is constantly trying to help her friends and is always honest (...Unless Discord). She spends most days bucking apple trees or hanging out with her friends. She is very honest, dependable and overall, the least flawed of the group.

 

Pinkie Pie:

Words cannot describe Pinkies personality. She is a pink earth pony with a pink mane. She lives in Sugarcube Corner, a massive candy sweetshop. She is...y'know just watch a few episodes to explain Pinkie. She is just that, she is Pinkie. There is no other word that can describe her. But beware Pinkamena Dianna Pie.

 

What they do:

Kick ass. Save the day. Beat up bad guys. Stop the destruction of everything. Help each other. Save lives. Have fun.

That is basically just a day in their lives, watch and love the show to see more about what they do.

 

Is it wrong for guys to watch MLP?:

Yes, completely and utterly wrong. I am going to hell for watching it. (Heavy sarcasm)

No, of course not. People view it as wrong due to the fact that they cannot see past ignorance and personal experience. If they have seen this show, not any other gens and they still don't like it then that is fine and dandy. However, people who haven't watched the show and classify it immediately as girly are completely wrong. So, to answer your question, no it is not wrong for men to watch the show. It is great, has amazing animation, fantastic characters, gripping storyline and a strong creator/fan bond.

 

I haven't typed this much in a looooong time so feel free to just skip this massive wall of text.

TL;DR:

Twilight:Nerdy but cool

Rarity:Civilised but awesome

Fluttershy: Shy but adorable

Rainbow:Arrogant but the best!

Applejack:Stubborn but hard working

Pinkie Pie:Hyper to the power of a thousand dying suns.

 

They kick ass and men can watch this show for it is great.

I'll give you a bit of perspective. I am 21 male and Canadian and I LOVE this show. I love cartoons, since I was a kid I've loved that kind of humor and MLP just gets it spot on. having strong story elements and that slapstick kind of humor, it just comes together rather well. It's what I like to call a "show for the whole family", something everyone of all ages and genders can get enjoyment out of. So enjoy your the show my fellow Brony, and don't let anyone tell you that it's wrong... Because that would be dumb.

When and where: it's on the Discovery/Hasbro-owned channel The Hub.

On a typical weekday, MLP is on with a two-episode marathon from 11:30AM-12:30 PM EST. But. BUT. Since it follows through like a story (because the show is just that awesome), I recommend you start with the first two episodes in the series.
