Abyss was born into a family of three. His father , a earth pony zealot of Celestias glory and keeper of artifacts which he collected from adventures and preserved for future generations to gaze upon, Archaeus Mausel. His mother, a unicorn medium that not only acted as a conduit between the living and the dead, but also guided spirits along their path to eternal peace, Violet Luster. Finally, his elder sister, Bright Beacon, a unicorn like him. She loved her brother dearly, but made it clear to him that she was not only the eldest, but his superior. She would carry Archaeus's torch, a master storyteller and expert in history.

All of Archaeus's hopes rested upon his daughter, and while their were alternatives to what happened, Abyss stumbled onto a path that he suffered for. His father saw where the foals fascination lay, and made sure he knew that he was no son of his for it, being consumed by the magic of the glory of ones self is how his father saw it, even if it was just to learn. "Your mother is a perfect example of a pony whom is a benefit to all of Equestria! What of you, foal, if you don't follow my example, at least follow hers!" And while he was perfectly willing as a child to do so, his mother stood in shock at what she just heard. She supported his son openly, which became quickly vehemently defending him with hoof and horn.

Tensions rose in their household as the fighting intensified. All the while Bright and Abyss suffered for all of it in each others embrace. One looking for answers and guidance from the one which they looked up to, the other racking her frayed and tearful mind for the solutions and support for the foal they charged themselves to look over while the battle blossomed into a firey roar. His overzealous father becoming a destructive force of overbearing ill-tolerance for his rejected blood from a concerned parent barely a year in the war, while his mother devolved from a reasonable and heartfelt defense into stabbing at his pious passion, "If you were going to be so harsh on others that may be different, then why marry me! How dare you think to have a child that you were only going to step only to hold the other higher!"

The moment violence erupted, their lives were torn asunder. Archaeus struck down Violet for her blasphemous talk, and so she used sorcery to place a curse upon him of eternal sorrow. And both siblings, the queen and her most faithful and beloved charge, were pulled from each others embrace. Bright with Archaeus, and Abyss with Violet, the warmth between them became a cold hollow that would never see the solace of spring to save them from winter forevermore. Bright closed her kingdoms walls, forever keeping out others while she dutifully did what she thought was just. Abyss on the other hand, took into his heart a hollow of festering sorrow and unequaled fury that only grew with every passing day as a void does. Within him he cried himself to sleep, and screamed until throat raw every night, and would never let anypony be forgiven for his pain when his aspirations were met. His hatred for Celestia and the zealots whom prayed to her made him focus on void magic alongside his studies of alchemy, so the creature that incubated within him, taking all the warmth he needed for himself, could consume those whom oppressed those different from them as it very well did to him and his mother. He prayed, "Princess Luna, Nightmare Moon, lend me your heart, and I will do your will. For I desire the death of the day, like you, for your night, when I sleep and all is quiet is my only salvation from this pain."

Him and his mother moved to a small town where it his mothers worsening emotional and physical condition became only apparent to him. This condition caused by the power behind the curse she cast, which always requires collateral from the caster. She was good at concealing her deteriorating state from others, and he'd seen other ponies adoration for her, all the while oblivious to the parasitic shadow that consumed her slowly, painfully from her very heart. So he would let his hollow negativity remain locked deep away within him, only giving others the best. The love of this foal may be as pure as the pale moonlight that bathes over lakes and caresses the land with the most nurturing of kisses, but beware the foal, for he is lost to a sorrow and anger unmatched by the deepest abyss or brightest flare of the sun! Its name is hatred, and he will feel it for all those he doesn't feel it for right now. He is lost to it, and if you let him, he will take you to oblivion with him, for he will realize that is where he is destined to go.

More than eight hundred years later, his souls essence of destructive hatred was captured by his descendant, whom failed to see the power, in something the techmaturgist named Sable Rivers. He created it for those so filled with evil that he would use the "hollow core" to destroy every trace and memory of them to protect every pony. However he soon realized its evil energy, filling the ponies of his town with nightmares like no others. Destroying it would only unleash its energy, and so he locked it away, lock and spell. Soon, the aspiring Unicorn found himself among Celestias royal court as her royal techmaturgist. Eventually the princesses began to experience a disturbance entering their alicorn horns, and so he took it upon himself to find out what it was and end it. However, to do so, he would also have to put it upon himself. As he experimented his disturbance became clearer, and it was clearly a beacon. A distress beacon, but the alicorn princesses had lost their ability to hear it, forbidding him from continuing. But the screams and cries became too much. One night, he had seen a pony he had only seen in the nightmares that the hollow core had brought upon him. It was the key! So he gathered it once again, but his experiment went too well, and the hollow core entered him and took him to a parallel universe of misery and woe. There, he was corrupted by the void, and wielded the elements of annihilation with six others to end countless lives.

But when he returned as the alicorn prince of void, Colenso Void, his fellow wielders of the elements failed, and while he took them upon himself, he suffered an emotional and spiritual defeat by his horrible acts and the efforts of his party and the inhabitants of equestria. He returned to the ravaged universe and destroyed the elements of annihilation in order to end its eternal curse.

However, upon his return to equestria, he left the rest of the world behind in order to will himself to die alone and both the terrible Colenso Void and the caring Sable Rivers. The void core could never be removed, and now that he's eternal, he will make sure he's forever lost to everypony.

 

Luna and her charges feel they must find him, and open him up again, lest he suffer forever, and therefore Luna and Celestia follow suit.

 

For some reason, it is your conviction to assist in this effort. Maybe you saw the most pure of misery in his eyes and must end such an atrocity, or perhaps you must find him to make sure he never sees the light of day again for his crimes... Or maybe, you cant stand seeing your princesses unhappiness fester in such a hidden way that you and only few others know its there.

 

This Rp will have your characters not as much search for him as interact with him. Luna knows where he is from his dreams. You may play canon characters, and I would like a Luna around. Also, for your initial post, you must establish where you are and what you're doing.
