Missklang dramatically grabbed his chest as if in pain.

 

I was royally friend zoned... My  poor little heart. Well, I guess I'll have to live with that now.

 

He laughed and looked at Hooligan.

 

You seem interesting and fun enough. Well, I don't need to worry about anything. Just look how Redwood is looking intensely your way. 

 

Missklang smirked.

 

I can't wait for the princesses to arrive. I would have to find a proper welcome thing just for them...

Missklang asked. He then looked back to Hooligan. His pupils twitched . He smiled widely.

 

Greetings, Hooligan. My name is Missklang. I don't think I would ask for help, though. You've been here for the longest. You didn't escape yet? I like it here. Too bad they don't serve carrots. I heard they were good for...the eyes. Who wouldn't want a sharp view heh? Well, I think I will stay here for a while...

Nightmare rolled her eyes and said,

Nightmare looked up and silently motioned Redwood to come over, so no one would suspect a thing.

Redwood walked over to Nightmare, sticking to the wall on the way over.

 

"Are th' princesses here?" she asked as she got close.

 

Redwood made sure to avoid looking at Hooligan to make sure it didn't look like anything was going on between them. Even if the inspection went swimmingly, she could still get in trouble if Nightmare or Shadow found out about her arrangement with Hooligan.

"No, they're not here yet, but I couldn't help noticing that you were glaring at Hooligan only when the other guards were looking around."

 

Shadow got up, walked out to the front yard,flew to the roof, laid down on his back. He hasn't been here for a while.

Hey, Hooligan. I have a feeling you like causing bedlam as good as I do.

 

He looked around and whispered to Hooligan so only him can hear.

 

You know what would be fun and good to greet the royal butts? A fight between prisoners. How about causing a little havoc? I got a paper and a pencil. Simple enough: write to the most strongest stupid bully some insults or something like that from part of just another bully. They will start fighting and surely others will be involved too. Especially if we start more than one at a the same time. What do you say? Shame to waste such opportunity when everyone is in the cafeteria... Maybe even someone would get injured. That would be bad if the princesses come and there is nopony in the medical area right?

Hooligan smiled. Missklang's plan was great. If Hooligan couldn't kill the Princesses he could at least piss them off. Hooligan suddenly Remembered his deal with Red. Hooligan sighed. "Sorry Missklang but I can't help you. Any other day I'd be more than happy. But I swore that I'd behave today."

Me neither. I made a promise "not to start riots" and "not locking guards" today.

 

He smiled.

 

But that doesn't mean I can't do something else. Looks like the cafeteria riot would have to wait for now. That's why I never make promises. Huh, actually, if I recall correctly, I promised not to make riots but not other stuff. Hmmm. I'll have to exploit that logic loophole somehow...

Nightmare finished off the burger and said as she wiped her mouth off,

"Shouldn't you two be eating really quick, they might be here any minute. They might be on their way this very moment."

 

Shadow watched the cloud flow by and without knowing it, he fell asleep.

Hooligan turned to Missklang and smiled, "It was a pleasure meeting you Missklang. Hopefully we can cause some havoc when the Princesses aren't here." He went to whisper something in his ear, "don't give up with Nightmare. You'll win her over." he winked and went back to eat his breakfast.

Shadow was napping on the roof when he started dreaming of Luna, he jolted awake to see Celestia and Luna on their way to the school.

"Of course, ma'am. Ah'll make sure things don't go south," said Redwood. "Now, y'all can trust me when ah say that Hooligan's got th' right motivation to stay in line, but Missklang might be a problem. We gotta watch him like a hawk, or at least find some excuse to lock him up fer th' visit."

Missklang bited the apple he took for breakfast and turned to Redwood.

 

I can hear you, miss Redwood, you know? It's a bit odd that you can affirm with such certainty that  Hooligan will behave. After all, from what I see he is as potentially dangerous as I am. But that's beside the point. Find an excuse to lock me up... Heh. I don't know if I should be deeply offended by that or rejoice of being seen as such dangerous individual. 

 

He stopped talking suddenly, closing his eyes as his ears twitched from side to side.

 

I sense powerful magical beings approaching the school.... It's.... it's them.

 

He turned to Nightmare.

 

Nightmare. They are here. They will arrive at school in few moments.

Nightmare said as she sighed, 

"guess we'll have a talk later."

She turned to Missklang and said, 

"I don't want to know how you know that they are on their way, just try to think of someway to apologise to them, before 'bumping into them'"

She took off towards the front gate.

 

Shadow stood up and dusted himself off. When the princesses landed in front of him, He stood on his hind legs so he was at their height and said,

"Welcome, I wasn't expecting to see you two for a week, what brings you here?"

 

Celestia said as she folded her wings, 

"We had some time to come do this right now."

 

Shadow bowed and said,

"I'm honored that you came early. Shall we get started?"

Redwood went to the front gate along with Nightmare to greet the princesses as well.

 

"Princess Celestia, Princess Luna," she said as she bowed for them. "It's an honor to have y'all here. Ah hope yer inspection goes fine and that y'all find up to be in top shape."

Shadow looked at Redwood bowing and sighed in his head, so far so good.

 

Nightmare bowed to them but didn't say anything.

 

Celestia smiled and said, 

"Redwood, Nightmare Moon, how have you to been? I see you been working hard. Would you excuse me and my sister?"

"Why, ah've been fine, Princess; thanks you fer askin'. And of course, go ahead, yer highness," said Redwood.

 

She wasn't too big a fan of having to bow down and keep her manners in check around the princesses, but Redwood knew it had to be done. Hopefully, this would be quick.

Celestia  and Luna walked by and started looking at the halls and room.

Shadow walked over and said, 
"Nightmare, Coul you come with me, and Redwood, could you follow Celestia and Luna, and answer any question they have."

 

Nightmare followed Shadow into his office

"Well, your highness, it looks like ah'll be yer tour guide fer th' inspection. Like Shadow said, y'all can direct any questions y'all got to me."

 

It was game time now. It was on Redwood to make sure things went well, and that the princesses didn't find anything wrong.

"We'll be doing the cafeteria next since that was a small problem last time."

 

Luna muttered,
"The only problem was that the cooks didn't know you were coming and didn't cook you anything. Then you went off on them about staff and students should eat properly before class."
