The guard's skin was black with stitches all over, the teeth were pointy like shark's, the body was shaved. It got up and pounded on the door. The door shuddered from the force of the pounding. After it was done pound it stared at Missklang and licked it's teeth with a forked toungue.

 

Shadow walked up behind and whispered in the ear

"You shouldn't have done that, now you can't and won't be able to leave at all."

Missklang's ears twitched on the sound of Shadow. He didn't bothered to look behind at him and continued looking at the guard and the control pannel.

 

Aw, come on Shadow. Don't be so salty that I outsmarted the guard. I wasn't going to escape anyway. And also with Nightmare to catch me if I do... Don't ruin the fun. And also don't sneak on me like that. I mean it's cool and stuff but, a bit disturbing...  And besides, I didn't do anything evil. I suppose you could agree that I had the power to do so in so many ways. Starting from, at best snapping her neck and at worst, sadistically lower the temperature even more or poke the eyes out...

 

He leaned over the window.

 

But that's an interesting looking pony. Such sharp teeth. Such nice tongue. They almost look exactly as mine! Well, at least I can make them look like that... And what is with all the stiches? Is it some frankenstein puppet of yours or just had too many surgical operations? You know what would be cool? Buttons! Buttons to replace the eyes! To give an additionnal spook effect! Come on! I'm curious now.

He wiggled his hooves in the air helplessly without trying to resist in any way.

 

But why don't you want to trust me? I'm a bit like you! I'm a bit dragon too! Lok at my eyes! They are just like yours. And it's not like telling that to somepony would be an advantage in any sort. All this pathos and mystery and witness elimination. A mad evil laugh would suits this situation perfectly. You should call Nightmare Moon! I heard her laugh in Poniville before. It would be perfect! And all this full metal claw grabbing! Your claws are cold! It's not very pleasant in low temperature you know?

"They wanted the secrecy, it was the payment for them working here. Of course my claws are cold they are metal are did you not realize that. 

He sighed and said as the guard got dressed and walked out of the cell,

"Come on, I need to take you somewhere private."

Well, I can understand that they want to keep that beautiful face a secret. Can you imagine if ponies discover it? Everyone would assault them to ask how to look the same way. And I did notice that they are metal, your claws. I said that. In my pun... But whatever. Somewhere private? I can't see how it can get wrong. It sounds totally safe and friendly and I'm not going to be tortured or die horribly. Of course, I will follow you. Perhaps you just want to chat over a nice cup of tea. Who knows. Might be fun.

 

He turned to the guard. And smiled, revealing his pointy canines. 

 

If you still want a hug, now is a perfect time. As long as you don't want to nom one of my ears off of course.Don't worry. Ponies try to kill or harm me way too often for me to be grumpy about such silly thing as a few degrees lower than usual.

The guard glared and let out a mixture of a growl and hiss. Shadow grabbed Missklang and said, 

"I don't think you want to be joking, you're supposed to be dead right now for seeing."

He led him into a dark room away from the cell, sat down, and pulled out his bottle. He took a few gulps, then placed it on the ground and said, 

"Why are you trying to get yourself killed."

Missklang bursted into laughs.

 

Me? Trying to get myself killed? If I wanted to get myself "killed" I would be already dead a long time ago. I'm merely attracting attention, trying to impress ponies with cool party tricks and make them occasionally want to punch me.... Sadly, sometimes with sharp pointy objects... And also, I'm being curious about stuff. After all, that's what I do. I poke my nose into things I'm not supposed to. Hopefully spreading a bit of entropy and causing bedlam along the way. How in the universe I was supposed to know that I was not supposed to look at their faces. It's not like there are posters with "warning, the silent guards have a severe case of scp-096 syndrome". But now it looks like I poked the wasp hive a bit too much didn't I? Well, it's just more fun that way... It's not like the guard would tell each of her friends and they would come during the night all together to sacrifice me to their weird Cthulhu god or something......... right?

"They have their faces covered for a reason. I'm guessing you didn't think that revealing what they were hiding wouldn't provoke them. Why don't you sit down and take a few gulps, if you can handle the strongest drink to dragons."

Alcohol? Bweh. No, thank you very much. I don't like alcohol at all! I mean how ponies even drink that stuff? It tastes horrible.

 

He looked at the chair that Shadow pulled out of the air and narrowed his eyes.

 

Portals heh? Nice trick. Nice trick. I can do that too.

 

He delved his hoof into his mane and took out an apple. He looked at it for a second as if surprised and realising that the apple was there, in his hoof.

 

An apple? Huh... I love hammerspace....

 

He ate the whole apple in one bite.

 

So chief? What's the plan? You sure do make it sound scary but that piranha-on-legs didn't seem too dangerous. And I'm not really feeling threatened at the moment. But perhaps I don't yet understood the gravity of the situation? Please do tell me. And should we inform her majesty?

Shadow laughed and said as he got serious,
Celestia and Luna don't know about them. They think they are really shy when the truth is they can't talk at all. The only noises they make are laughing and growling. I don't even know how they talk to each other, but they always find out and they won't be happy."

He grabbed his drink and placed it into the portal. He opened one behind Missklang and brought an exact replica of a silent guard that it could be mistaken as the real thing, then he said,

"They come up from behind and take a bite out of the one that sees them for what they are."

Well, I was talking about Nightmare Moon and not Sunbu.... Celestia but nevermind I guess. But too bad for the silences, I'm not tasty at all. Did you ever try to bite into rubber? And I can always bite back if they are acting in sorts. But I assume it's not a complete taboo and there are exceptions. After all, you technically saw them too didn't you? And if not before, then few minutes ago surely. And you don't seem much preoccupied with yourself.

 

His ear twitched as he heard a sound behind and turned around.

 

Oh, so you do finally want a hug heh?...Huh?...Wait a second. The aura is all wrong! What is this? I can't read well with this stupid magic blocker. Is it a mannequin?

 

He lifted the hoof in order to poke the guard's nose.

"I'm the only exception, they trust me with their secret. Nightmare doesn't even know what they look like, the regular guard never had a peek of them at. I suggest that you watch your back, even when you're with Nightmare. They take the one they want at night when they are sleeping and I don't know what they do. I was coming to see how you are doing."

Missklang raised his eyebrow. And then smiled.

 

Well. I suppose I could dip myself into black paint and craft some papier-mache wings and claws to look like you. But I guess you won't like me walking around as you, saying stuff and poking things. Well from your grim tone I assume ponies are never seen again. That got me thinking. Do their number increase after that? Just imagine if they are some sort of parasite bug thing that they implant into you. And then it devours your brain and stuff and take control of the body which is deformed by weird operations? Ew.... But not sleep at night is easy enough.

Shadow got on his hind legs and as he stretched out his wings,

"They are actually a species, but no one but them knows what it is. Why don't you go try to say sorry? That might get them off your back in the future that is."

Shadow heard a buzzer and said, as he cleaned up the chairs,

"It's break time, why don't you go see if you can find Nightmare."

 

All the cell door flew open and every prisoner walked out.

Heh. And just like that prisoners are allowed to roam around. Bet it must be so fun to chase them all down into their cells later. I should totally go hug that guard of mine. She seems huggable enough. Perhaps invite to a drink. Hehe. Well, good day to you sir.

 

He trotted out of the door.

 

Hmmm. If I was the shadow, if I was the night. If I were batm..hmm.. that is not what I wanted to say. If I were Nightmare Moon, where would I hang out? On the roof? No. It's not night time yet.... In the garden? In the library? She could be curious after I mentioned it...

 

He started to trot randomly through the hallways, poking his nose in every door to see what's behind. Prisoners tended to avoid him a bit, looking at his eyes with suspicion.

Nightmare was walking around the staff's cafeterria, collecting some breakfast. Then she sat down and started eating

"You're dismissed."

Then he turned to Redwood and Hooligan and said, 
"How's it going for you two."

Missklang wandered a bit around the hallways. At one moment he heard Redwood's voice and decided to walk the other way just in case. He ended up in the cafeteria area. He spotted Nightmare Moon and decided to approach.

 

Hello, your majesty. A nice day is it? Jut look. They let me out of my cell. I didn't even needed to escape. i was about to though. I even got out and locked the guard in my own cell. Hehe. That was a fun bit of exercise. How is your day?

Nightmare choked and, after getting it out, said, 
"What you locked up a guard, I'm surprised Shadow didn't put you in solitairy for that and you aren't supposed to be here. this cafeterria is for staff only."

She led missklang out after throw her breakfast away and said, 

"My day was fine until I heard that news. They didn't let you out. It's break."

Well, I didn't do that to escape, just for fun. And I didn't do anything evil towards the guard. He froze me to badly so I used my iced mane to lockpick the door. And don't worry about Shadow. He crept right beside me when I was playing with the cell control panel, so he knows. Perhaps he is deciding to put or not me in a solitary I know that this is for staff only but I was searching for you and it was more logical that you would be here. And also, the main cafeteria is full of loud ponies.

"What did you do to piss off the guard. That was dumb of you, locking up a guard and walking into the staff room. Shadow would probably have your head if he saw you looking for me in the staff cafeteria. Where do you want to go, besides out the front gate."

Well, I asked if it wanted a hug. Looks like not. I wanted to show that I could easily get out if I really want to I guess... But again, it is Shadow who suggested I go to look for you, so I doubt he would do anything.Well, I don't know where to go honestly. I don't know how long the break is and I don't really know what there is to see.

Hooligan gave a small chuckle as he wondered how long it was gonna take him to piss off Shadow today. "And before you interrupted Redwood said she'd escort me to the cafeteria."

There is no place that I consider off limits as long as I can get inside. I do realise however that there are some places I rather don't go into if I don't want to attract attention. A hole where no magic can be used? Yes! That sounds extremely fun. I want to test how well it blocks my own magic. What kind of magic exactly?
