Yes maybe MLP as a whole is dying. We lose more and more people every day. In my eyes, mlp fim is losing popularity and that is causing a significant change in the popularity stats.

The My Little Pony: Friendship is Fanbase facebook group has over 40,000 members. Posts usually get around 30-200 likes each and 15-100 comments. Quite an active group. We keep getting more members, it seems.

 

Same thing seems to be happening with hiking forums. People are starting to post more on facebook hiking groups and less on forums nowadays. Probably to do with the ease of posting, responding, and getting quick feedback.

 

The brony fandom as a whole seems to be gaining new members at the same rate that we are losing them. We seem to be at a sort of equilibrium. But I'm sure that with the media hype the 2017 movie will bring, plus the Guardians of Harmony theme may help lure people who prefer more action in shows rather than slice of life. My dad, for example, only likes the adventure episodes in MLP. Many people are like that. With the darker direction MLP is going, it may grow its audience even more.
