ManaMinori 4,145 May 5, 2016 Share May 5, 2016 There's a baby food challenge for Noah Connely, a baby born with congenital heart disease, wh has to re-learn how to eat and keep food down, after being fed through tubes after 3 heart surgeries. Does anyone know of any bronies who have participated in this challenge? Will you accept the challenge? Have Bronies ever started viral challenges of their own, that extend beyond the brony community? cuteycindyhoney 13,308 May 5, 2016 Share May 5, 2016 (edited) I'm sorry, but wouldn't sending the family a donation actually do far more than making a video of yourself eating baby food? How about send some money to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital? (I do every year) They do groundbreaking research to help children with all manner of medical problems. Shooting a video of yourself eating baby food is such an egotistical way of pretending you're helping, without actually doing anything at all. I mean really, what kind of a challenge is eating food made for babies? I've tasted baby food while feeding kids I've baby sat. It tastes good. Where's the challenge in eating strained peas? Please, take the money you would have wasted buying baby food to make a "funny" video, and send it to Noah Connely, and or Saint Jude's. ManaMinori 4,145 May 5, 2016 Author Share May 5, 2016 I'd do it in a heartbeat. What are the specifics?Link to baby Noah's FB info and donation pagehttp://www.myheartbeatsfornoah.com other two links (news coverage and YT challenge are in the post above) Honestly, I just saw it on the news less than an hour ago. Parents trying to raise awareness for their baby who has trouble eating, by eating baby food themselves and getting word out about his condition. I know some Bronies did the Ice Bucket challenge, so I was just curious if anyone would do this challenge (or has already) and what sort of challenges were made by Bronies Raising awareness is fine, but how does that help the actual doctors and scientists striving to understand and help kids with such problems? Though, oh, I dunno, this, maybe? http://www.myheartbeatsfornoah.com Because you can raise awareness on YT and have a legit ino/donation page Under the Jellicle Moon- a site with cuteness, cat boys, and comic strips / Star Dreams Fanclub
Black Sabbath 2,486 May 5, 2016 Share May 5, 2016 Why not just use the money you would have bought baby food with and donate that to Doctors or Scientist who can actually help the kid?
Guest May 5, 2016 Share May 5, 2016 I have to agree with the others here and say it'd be more effective to make a donation. Even if donating doesn't quite raise awareness, it does help the family and/or the children of the hospital better.

Jeric 46,854 May 5, 2016 Share May 5, 2016 To defend Nightmare Muffins a little (or a lot) ... pouring ice water on ones head actually had a greater impact on funding ALS research from direct donations than any prior drive. Awareness and social media viral aspects are huge influences in generating donations. I've run charities on and offline for a variety of issues. The psychology of marketing plays a huge role in the success of any drive. Just saying this since people are poo-pooing a concept that was proven to work better than sticking your handout and saying 'give'. getting back on topic- Does anyone know of any bronies who have participated in this challenge? Will you accept the challenge? Have Bronies ever started viral challenges of their own, that extend beyond the brony community? Not aware of any, but it always starts with one.

Absolutely, social media makes it so much easier to raise awareness than donations only. I'm sorry for being ignorant. Anyways, I have my thumbs up for this challenge and I probably will participate in it too.

Maybe donate and participate in the challenge is the optimal option. If memory serves well I think it is the case for the ice bucket challenge right?
