Why does everyone insist the film is the end of the series?

It does look to me, that despite the fact that some Bronys like the newer Episodes, that they kinda get tired of Mlp and wish that the Show would just end after the Movie, with a Bang, so that it doesnt turn out to be a very long series, that will jump the shark. Like the Simpsons for example, who seems to go on until Season 30.

 

I think, Bronys are afraid, that a time will come, that they all get tired of it and start to dislike Mlp and they dont want that to happen.

 

Well, if thats the truth, i have only one thing left to say, how would that be bad?

If the Show eventually get boring after a while...how does that harm anyway?

And if you start to dislike the Show...well...than just stop watching it, you are not forced to watch countless Seasons, if you dont want to, it doesnt harm anybody.

 

And for the argument, that People want to keep the Show in History, as the Show that stopped, when it was still good...what would that accomplish?

Mlp is one of the most hated things anyway currently ( together with the Brony Fandom ) on the internet. 

...and even if it gets bad and you all get tired of it, wouldnt that be good?

Because than, the Show clearly would get cancelled, if you all would stop watching it.

So...what exactly is the Problem, with the possibility that Mlp could continue after the Movie?

I'm not sure exactly but I believe I read somewhere when I was 13 Hasbro signing a contract and something happening to the series in 2018, so with the movie coming out in 2017 you get the picture. Like I said, I don't know exactly if it will end in 2018 and I can't understand exactly what I read about it or where I found it but I assume it's something about the show ending or something. I sure hope not but I also doubt it would be the exact end of the series. With all the money they make because of MLP being one of their biggest franchises, I'm sure as long as it keeps making money it will still continue on. Hell, a movie would mean more toys to sell meaning more sales resulting in more money. I bet Hasbdo wouldnn't let the opportunity completely go to waste. Knowing like most MLP specials, I'm pretty sure for the movie they would introduce special new characters and a new special look for the Mane Six they could sell as toys (like the rainbow power designs) and a epic villain character they could sell toys of. So if the movie isn't the end of G4 then the series would perhaps at least have one last season or two if it ends up as a financial success. I don't think they'll stop right there at the movie

 

However since MLP:FIM would be 7 years old by the time the movie is done (which is a pretty long run time for a children's cartoon designed to sell toys and merchandise) most fans would want a movie to end off the series with. It's really more what the fans would like for the series when it eventually comes to a end.

 

Not to mention a speculator and memorable good movie sounds like a good way to end a popular and fun series like Friendship is Magic. Instead of having something go on for so long with people eventually complaining it's not a good as it was before in "the good old days"

 

(*cough*I'm looking at you new awful episodes of SpongeBob and Simpsons. But I'm also looking at YOU most of you 90s kids Cartoon Network haters that whine about the new cartoons today*cough*)

 

It's always better to leave a series or franchise of any media on a good note people can look back on with pleasant memories and nice moments to remember from it. If the movie ends up meeting a lot of good expectations and is a memorable special for fans alike then it would certainly leave the series on a nice high note to look back on and the series would have had a good run.

 

Those are all my speculations however. None of this is 100% certain. Who knows what the staff have up their sleeves after all. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I would also like to point out since G4 was such a success then they might make a sequel G5 as in we may see the mane 6 in it but they will not be the main characters they haven't made a sequel generation so we may see one as G5 it is possible but it would be a completely different series...for instance G4 is friendship right so why not have G5 as family I mean it seems ok to do but who knows.

As much as I don't want MLP to end, I think ending it with a movie is the best way to go, rather than keep the show going until it rots. With a movie, it can at least go off with a bang.

But I don't think this will cause Hasbro to end G4 entirely. We might get a spin-off series, or at least more toys.

Well, as many have pointed out already, character arcs are being wrapped up in the show proper, as well as the fact FiM is now rather old by the standards of animated shows made to sell toys, so there's quite a strong possibility that the film itself will allow the series to depart on a hopefully very high note, but, after all, Hasbro will surely keep making toys and toys, and who knows, there could be some spin-offs, maybe an Equestria Girls series to see how Sunset is doing, suplementary material, the IDW comics will probably continue (even though their canonic status is ambiguous at best), and what not. My only major concern is that it's likely the show will finish without all the World Building most of us wanted so badly, so i hope the Mane Six get to explore one hell of a chunk of Equestria and their world before the big big end (if the movie truly is the end, that is). Then again, who knows, maybe some sort of spin-off or material could potentially show up addressing that kind of stuff.

What I mean is that I don't see anythign about episodes after Spice Up Your Life. Usually unaired episodes are at least listed.

I dont think the show is even close to ending there is still so much that can be done it aint over yet ^-^  + we are a family even if it ended we wouldnt give up we would probably just started grouping up in order to create our own :3

Honestly,I do hope that it ends G4.I've been pretty excited about(call me silly)if they'll actually use any fan-made next gen characters for that generation.But I guess we'll have to sit back,and let Hasbro decide!

It could be the end of the series, since the show's ratings keep going down. I don't think the toy line will end with it though.

Perhaps it would be something like a bigger hiatus for the next season after the movie but I doubt it would be the end. After all, they're still gonna make EQG movies as well

If anything, I believe that this will only make it stronger. They are going to be making it more of a "thing" in the world. More people will be exposed to it, and therefore more people will want to watch the old seasons and they will want new seasons. I feel like this will also bring forth more isles of toys in Toys R Us. At least in my local store there is only one small isle. 

 

I feel like it will bring a wider audience to the show and it will grow quite a bit.
