ManaMinori 4,149 May 31, 2016 Share May 31, 2016 She's more or less walking the same path, same methods as her own mentor. Foreshadowing? SG has questioned Twilight's methods at least twice now- trying to avoid the lesson plan, in the Crystalling, and not agreeing with Twi's mehods in No Seond Prances. Will she go the path of PRE-reformed Sunset Shimmer, proving to Twi that friendship doesn't always win? Will it be up to Twi to call in backup, having Sunset come in to set her student straight, when the magic of friendship fails? 1 Under the Jellicle Moon- a site with cuteness, cat boys, and comic strips / Star Dreams Fanclub
Lambdadelta 1,462 May 31, 2016 Share May 31, 2016 I like this idea and dislike it at the same time. Twilight fails as a teacher, Starlight become bad again... then what? What happen next? Like a bad end route in Japanse visual novel where every thing go wrong beyond control just prove that goodness doesnt always mean rewards. That would be a nice dark fic . Anyway, Twilight is sucked as a teacher but she will get better in the end... I hope... Damn, Sunset is better at teaching friendship than Twilight....

Aslong as that is there, Friendship will never fail. 6 My OC Mesme Rize: >https://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/mesme-rize-r8777 Thank you Randimaxis for this Wonderful Avatar. cmarston1 5,964 May 31, 2016 Share May 31, 2016 I would have rather had Starlight Glimmer be faking her reformation the whole time and end up as the main villain for the season finale in order to deconstruct the whole Easily Forgiven trope. Plus it would give an excuse for her to finally receive much deserved punishment for her horrible crimes against Equestria. But that isn't going to happen and neither what you suggested would either due to the nature of the type of show FIM is.

Castle Bleck 19,455 May 31, 2016 Share May 31, 2016 (edited) it did, in The Return of Harmony Only for the first half (and even then, only because of Discord's artificial means), but it eventually succeeded in the end anyway. Marimo 555 May 31, 2016 Share May 31, 2016 (edited) SG has questioned Twilight's methods at least twice now- trying to avoid the lesson plan, in the Crystalling, and not agreeing with Twi's mehods in No Seond Prances. Will she go the path of PRE-reformed Sunset Shimmer, proving to Twi that friendship doesn't always win? Will it be up to Twi to call in backup, having Sunset come in to set her student straight, when the magic of friendship fails? That doesn't really make sense to me. She wanted to avoid the lesson plan in The Crystalling because of her feelings of guilt over her past actions mixed with uneasiness about meeting Sunburst again. However the result by the end of the episodes? Friendship still won, Starlight did rekindle her friendship with Sunburst. It wasn't exactly Twilight's methods she disagreed with so much as she had a problem with Twilight not trusting her. Twilight however admitted she was wrong, and Starlight was convinced to patch things up with Trixie too. Result? Friendship won. You can't use those conflicts as examples for why Starlight would turn to thinking friendship doesn't always win and then ignore all the development that happened which ended up proving that friendship does win. That's not using past episodes as character development to legitimately get her to that point, that's ignoring or contradicting past events and regressing the character. And there's no point in bringing Sunset in, someone who Starlight hasn't even had any interaction with and may not know who she is, when I've just pointed out she's had actual development making friends with Sunburst and Trixie and overcoming struggles to keep those friendships.
