At the end of the staircase was an old colt, who looked like he had been there a long time. His mane had grown very long, and he wore a tie wich had faded out in colour. He was fiddling in a corner when he saw them coming, at wich point he smiled, and walked over to greet them.

"Took you long enough."

Midnight raised an eyebrow "doctor."

"Glad you recognize me. I tried to keep in shape, but suprisingly little food is thrown out of existence."

He perked the last few bolts on his screwdriver, and raised it.

"Done."

Garth was utterly confused. "But... how can you be the doctor? You're much older than him."

"Well, I figured that if this place wasn't real, it didn't obey the same laws of space and time, so I experimented with the Angels to see if it was true. Best case scenario, time didn't exist at all, and I'd just be teleported somewhere else. Worst case scenario, the time flux was irregular, and could've spent 32 times the age of this small reality waiting for you. Sadly, the latter happened."

 

He smiled at Garth.

 

"How am I this old? I told you I was an alien."

midnight shrugged, "whatever those things were, must have sent him forward or back in time, and hes been here for, quite awhile...."

"Hang on, I've got to be presentable."

He quickly ran into the other room, and came back moments later looking exactly as he did before dissapearing behind the wall, minus the skinniness.

"Also, everypony hold out your hoof."

midnight held out his hoof, wondering what the doctor was up too

The Doctor quickly stabbed him with his screwdriver and it flashed orange for a second, before the light died down and revealed a small gizmo embedded in his hoof.

"Next."

"OW, what the heckamacopter was that for?" he looked at the gizmor "what in the hay is this?"

He pointed at another script on a door, similar to the circular ones they saw earlier.

"The Silence. You can't remember them once you don't see them anymore, so I'm giving you a portable audio clip. Took me 746 'years' to build ones that worked here. Basically, if it flashes, you left yourself a message. Click it to hear it."

Garth looked at the doctor. "Sorry, no hooves. The hell's the silence?"

Darts held out a hoof "Doctor I swear if your trying to trick us i am going to kill you"

A sound of heavy breathing came from behind Garth.

A tall pony in a suit, similar to Jeff, but with a more coriaceous head, stood there, his small black eyes burning a hole in the Doctor's head.

"That," He said, slowly walking to Garth,

"Is a silent." He spoke rapidly, "The Silence is a cult dedicated to killing me, the Silents being aliens who have dominated Equestria since the invention of fire. They edit themselves out of oyur memory the moment you look away, that's why we need these chips."

The thing raised a hoof.

"Also, they conduct electricity from the enviorment, shooting lightning out of their hoofs." he said in one breath, and leapt out of the way, as the thing shot.

Garth turned around and began to back away, his wings flaring out. "And how do you know so much about these beings if they don't really exist? If they're non-existent, then you could never have previously encountered them."

"Oh, they exist, they probably got here like the angels, through a Time Rift. And I met them before, just I can never remember what they look like until I'm looking at one. Quick, come here."

He poked himself in the hoof, and then offered to Garth.

midnight poked the thing on his hoof, "note to self, dont freak out....." he dodged the lightning himself but had to cover his eyes from all the dust.

"aggh....."

"I think I'll pass. What happens if I touch it?" He kept his eyes on it and began to circle around, so he wouldn't be in the same direction as the doctor.

"Nothing, but good luck keeping an eye on it."

The Doctor quickly ran across the room, complete disregard for the creature, and grabbed his tie.

"Almost forgot it."

The Silent simply dissapeared, leaving them all confused.

Midnight's hoof was flashing.

The Doctor blinked.

"Why am I on the other side of the room?"

midnight pushed the blinky thing, and it replayed most everything they had said, "oh hey, its a recorder device thingy.."

The Doctor looked suspiscious.

"Hmmm... Didn't think they could come out of the room..."

Darts shook his head confused, "what happened, did I black out or something?"

Said the Doctor, walking to the door.

midnight raised his hoof, "i do," he shook his head, "im going a little bit ahead, ill be within eyesight, i just want to see where this labrynth goes."

he made his way down the hall, making sure he could still see everypony, "huh.....it turns left....and right....." which way should we go....
