Should certain topics be touched?

FiM has come a long way, and has covered a variety of topics. But there are many still yet to be explored, such as body shaming, good eating habits, puberty, dealing with others who have disabilities, relapses (coughLunacough), and more. Think these topics should have episodes of their own?

I don't think Hasbro would want DHX to touch on subject material that some would consider controversial.  MLP is a toy line worth millions, and they don't want to do anything that may turn prospective customers away.  Most of the things you mentioned are low key enough to do an episode on, but anything having to do with sex, gender, religion, or politics would probably be thrown out the window.  While this fourth generation has the mission statement to actually provide inspiration to little girls, it's steering clear of teaching them what to think, which I think is a good thing.

At least in American culture, it's always been considered the job of the parents to control their child's access to media and teach them about controversial subjects.  If you have a show that ends up doing that for them, not only are they going to feel disenfranchised, but if the morals their children are being taught don't align with their own, then there's going to be Hell to pay.  Just look at the fallout concerning Derpy's performance in "The Last Roundup".  Hasbro edited the episode not because THEY were offended, but because some members of their audience were.  Sure, they could have stuck to their guns and told those who complained to shove it, but then what would they have accomplished?  They'd be assuming that the majority of the adults (who watch this show with their children) supported them, and that would be a risky gamble.  Even then, though, it wouldn't matter whether those "soccer moms" were a minority.  If Hasbro brushed them off and spat on their morals, they probably wouldn't let their children watch the show or even buy their toys anymore.  What's more, they'd probably tell all their friends about what happened (probably leaving out some context as well as giving a rather biased opinion), which would then lead THEM to boycott the brand, as well.

In short, DHX isn't Alex Hirsch or Rebecca Sugar; they can't just write about anything they want because they have toys to sell.  The job of the show is to sell Hasbro's toys, and if it ends up doing harm to their brand, they'll pull the plug.

There is just so much you can do, with a TV-Y rating. I mean, DHX don't even want to cover death, which was apparent in the making of tanks for the memories, so talking about stuff like Puberty won't even be discussed.

Please, don't be afraid to talk to me. I am not as unapproachable, as you might think.

That some people just can't be reasoned with or reformed.

Given how tiresome, cliche, and overall boring villain reformations have gotten in the show, I would really like to see this happen.

And to be honest, I kind of wish this is what happened with Starlight Glimmer.

That would have been much more engaging having her pretending to be reformed, but than betraying the mane 6 at the end of the season, than what we have gotten with her character so far.

Plus it would explain why her's was so weak.
