Best toys of the mane six?

Now that some of the fan-favorites are starting to show up as full-size brushables, I think I'm ready to dive into these things! XD Problem is, there's just SO MANY OF THEM!!! I'd like to start off with the mane six (of course), but think about it......there's like, 8 different Rainbow Dashes out there! The ones that were on display with Vinyl Scratch, Trixie, and Lyra molds at that toy expo earlier this year looked pretty good, but I don't know if those are already in stores, or to be released later in the year.

The important thing I'm looking for is hair that could be easily styled to look show accurate.........though of course accurate paint-jobs are a must too. Since I'm still VERY new to this whole "pony collectors" thing though, I'd really appreciate some advice and where to focus my attention!

Again, looking for which versions of the brushable ponies I should be pursuing. Thanks for any advice you Bronies can offer! ^_^

Personally, I'm not too into brushables. I don't know why; but when I think of brushable hair, I think "tangles" and "knots" and "hair falling out allover the place."

I would much rather have the blind-bag figures... However my area does not stock any pony products (you know, other than those random almost-pony craps--G2--that always make their way shoved underneath the toy rack.) But if they ever do, I want a Rainbow Dash plastic figure. I'd be satisfied with just that.

But what do I know? I'm just a stupid kid.

I would say the top three easiest ones to style would be Fluttershy, Twilight, or Applejack.

I would just start off with the regular $5 brushables as they are, for the most part, show-sccurate.

Here are what mine look like...I never got around to styling them yet.

From what I understand, there's two types of Twilight toys - ones that include a bangs section that runs perpendicular to the spine, and ones that don't. I've heard Twilight without the bangs section is the hardest of the Mane 6 to model accurately (though it can be done). I would think Fluttershy, Rarity, and Applejack would be the easiest to give show-accurate hair to.

Just a couple of days ago I bought my first ponies - a Twilight (without built-in bangs) and a Fluttershy. I'm still working on Twilight's hair, but you can see my completed Fluttershy (though the color is washed out due to lighting):

There's a person on deviantArt who has some really good guides to styling pony hair - you should check them out. Here's their Fluttershy tutorial: http://countschlick....orial-279880754

Brilliant! I'm TOTALLY doing that with mine when I get one. XD But yeah, my main question isn't how to style them to look accurate, but which ones to BUY. There's so many versions! Ponies with pets, ponies with carts, ponies with saddles, ponies with outfits......which actual SET is best to buy for each individual pony? Which releases make the best use of color, mold, and hair? That's the thing I'm wondering. Which specific items I should be pulling off the racks at the toy store. ^_^

Still, TOTAL brohoof for the link, and the tidbit about the bangs. Thanks!
